I don't have this expansion (PS4 player), but I'm interested in how everyone is saying that Sophy accelerates faster than they do.

When AI is being trained to play a game, it will often find unexpected/unintended ways to abuse game mechanics. If Sophy's accelerating inhumanly fast, it may have trained itself to, say, apply and let off the accelerator using some lightning-quick inputs that perfectly optimize the grip in a way that a human just can't do. Tool-assisted speedrun type stuff. Just a thought.

There’s only 2 probable reasons that Sophy is able to pull so hard off the line of a grid start.

A.) PD coded every Sophy car to have boosted horse power at the start of each race.

B.) What you were eluding to. That Sophy not only has a couple milliseconds lag in her reaction time, which carries over to every input Sophy makes into the physics calculations. So not only does she get near-perfect reaction times when the lights go out, but she also has zero use for incremental pre-programmed TC percentage values - being that she is extremely capable of keeping the car in the neat of its power while perfectly feathering the throttle for zero wheel spin. And Sophy’s far superior input calculations to consistently outbrake us of she needs to

I wonder what happens when a player has earned all 1,000 stars and won every single race. This video shows a guy who has 920 and hasn't even done the endurance races yet.

So,who else is thinking of staying awake for 24 hours and doing a full race at Lemans? ...based on the 5 lapper i just did there in the PP...i won by 30 seconds,so every 10 laps you gain a minute(based on 4 minute laps),every 40 laps, you would lap the field, you do 15 laps an hour,so,roughly every 2 hours and 40-45 minutes to lap the field.....23 hours of driving is 345 laps...1 hour pit time....but after 345 laps you would have aleast an 8 lap lead,so maybe one can stop 30 minutes before the end...maybe you can get away with 330-335 laps.....might try it on New years eve day at 6am'ish, i want to see if i can sync up with the game itself(like what time do they start in game?)...ring in the new year at LeMans....make sure i have plenty of liquids at my disposal(water,cola,starbucks,beer?)...maybe make a half dozen tuna sandwiches for munchies....lol...almost sounds like a plan ....would rather do Daytona but doesn't look that's possible....probably do Nurburgring as well, thinking it would be a little tougher than LeMans....yup,i'm gonna get my moneys worth for this PP
Haha!

Based on the lemans 5 lapper I won by 50s, then everyone else was around 1m30s behind me. I think I was the middle car of the three.

But this was entirely weather and AI logic based. It was raining with the water meter maybe halfway up the first bar, I'd started on inters, everyone else in hard. A check on the radar first showed the rain was consistently going to be coming down so inters it was with such a long lap.

End of lap 1, I was already 23s ahead, water meter was now about a third into the 2nd bar. Everyone else pit, and completely inexplicably stayed on hard tires, apart from one driver in 2nd who went onto inters. Massive lead already. For me

(pic shows gaps at end of L1 while all others are in the pits before the timing updates at pit exit)

End of lap 2, everyone apart from 2nd pit again and went onto inters as it was now high up in the 2nd bar.

End of lap 3, everyone pitted apart from me and went onto dry tyres as the water had dried out enough, I stayed out for one more lap on inters

End of lap 4, I span at the exit of the Karting esses, due to a completely dead rear left on a bone dry track, so I then trundled into the pits to change to hards. I was getting caught quite a bit with dead inters on a dry track.

Without that spin, I would have been about 15-20s further ahead at the end! And probably more overall if I'd needed to try /pitted end of lap 3, but after that lap 1 round of pitstops I didn't need to put in any effort whatsoever and I was challenging myself to try and nurse dead inters through a lap.

So another scenario where there is still a lot of work to do for AI.

Tl;Dr - 5 lap race, inclement weather, I did 1 stop, the opposition did 3 (apart from one opponent who did 2)

Sophy was trained by the McLaren strategy folks I heard. 🫣

Loving the power pack by far the best experince you can get for single player in gt7. Finally you can race against a good ai, looking forward to do them all, and it looks to be a lot of hours of content, so for me its worth the price. Good thing is that races can be repeated to earn money as well

Japanese currency of course, so that's 12 million for 24 hours. Very poor to be honest, completely disrespectful of your time.
I really think that people doing 24h race should not be doing it for the credits.

I won't be doing those races, not because the reward (in credits) is not enough, but because I don't trust the "save" feature. I'd need a month to complete such a race, and in a month they are many problems that can occur.

Looks like someone has finally done a 24hr race.

Put into context, even if you manage to fail the clean race bonus every single time (even though the only way to fail is to ignore Yellow Flags), you get that kind of money by doing the WTC 800 Spa 1 Hour race 12 times which is 12-13 Hours accounting for button presses and loading times.

Seems odd to have 24hr races with no B-Spec…

Still even if you could save mid-race i probably wouldn’t do them anyways! the 1hr hour Human Comedy races are enough!

It really should be 20mil - I swear in the old games you won the most expensive car, no? 20mil would be the equivalent in GT7

Nurburgring 24 hour in GT4 gave you the Formula GT however the others in GT4 and GT5 just gave you LMPs which youd already need to win and you can buy for the dealership (except B-Spec GT5 which gave you a Mclaren MP4-12C of all things for the Nurburgring 24h).

Only 1 24 hour race had a prize being worthwhile so this isn't exactly a new problem with them

Hey gang. The 24h races are not supposed to be a punishment that PD has to compensate you for.
If you don’t enjoy 24h races don’t drive them.
I think both things can be true? The entire (post menu) game progression is built around doing things to earn money to do more things.
There can be something you do personally for fun, but is also poor value for progressing within the game.

There is no reason for these things to be mutually exclusive when designed into the overall experience. It's a big undertaking and is part of the game experience. It would make sense for the reward to fit the undertaking.

Is there seriously no way turn off those labels above the AI cars?!

The dash overlay is cluttered enough as it is in GT7 and now I get MORE of it.

I want to see the beautiful scenery and cars not some distracting floating icons above the cars.

It’s annoying me to the point of not wanting to drive the PP races. (I’m 100% serious)

They’re even forced on the the replay ffs! Why?!

I think the idea is since the DLC is trying to capture real racing feels its trying to get you invested in the drivers you race against and feel something when going against specific drivers.

Problem is, is that its just text associated with a vehicle and one might be allocated to br faster than the others but they drive the same in the end of the day. This isnt GRID where each CPU driver has their own minor quirks to makes you think how the driver behaves, nor is there a story mode to get an personal investment from that. The only thing that stands out with the drivers is what car they use but then I'm just focusing on the car I'm racing against, not the driver.

I feel more personally invested against the CPU drivers in my custom races as I often give the same names I used repeatedly the same livery design to give some identification factor and I can headcanon my own story/lore XD

Why can't this have been in the power pack? why is the pack 100% choice free? if you ask me it's PD admitting they have no idea how to make a good racing AI unless they can guarantee your car isn't as good as the field is.
For the (seemingly) 1 millionth time, MANY of the races require legendary cars that cost millions and millions of credits, and become available every few months or so - If you buy a PS5/Game? and DLC for Christmas, the DLC is essentially a brick for you because you cannot progress.

The range of skill level in the SAME car, on this forum alone, is several seconds per lap. There's already a chorus screaming over "rubber banding" which is how a game can "guarantee your car" can keep up with the AI and vice versa. Your suggestion is even more extreme.

FYI for folks - TC level 2 helps quite a bit with the starts. I launch on 2, tick it down to 1, and then to off for the race. Sophy still leaps ahead, but it's a bit better.

You can disable them in display options. (As what the case with Sophy's emojis)
Could you point me to the specific setting? The only one that removed them for me was hiding the entire dash and even then they still showed up in the replay.

But the names are already in the driver list of the left which is also forced upon you if you don’t want to disable basic stuff like laps left.

It’s been a pet peeve of mine with GT7 coming from PC titles where I always race with a minimal hud.

Ideally I’d just have the basic instrument cluster with car info and settings plus laps left and race position and all the other clutter turned off. I’ve made my peace with GT7 probably never making this customizable but the labels pushed over the edge 😄

Just tried the Power Pack and all I can say is that if you're an average player and hope to win a race other than the introductory 3-4-5 lap races then you can forget about it.

I'm definitely an average driver and this A.I. is mercilessly fast compared to me. This AI is humblingly fast and sometimes nearly impossible for human players to keep up with.

To be honest, all I'm here for is the Power Pack car unlocks.

Dragon Trail Seaside is a track I have noticed Sophy 3.0 not being very good at.

Very slow through turn 5, the fast right at the top of the hill. Rather slow through the double left at the end of the sector two esses. And pretty tentative through the Chicane of Death, though I can't really blame it too much for that one.

All of those are pretty fast corners, I note.
