The vast amount of content that Polypohony Digital is putting into the game is just staggering!!!

So how much Gigabytes will GT5 use on a BLu ray disc?

Depending on if the disk is single or duel layered it could be 25 to 50 GB's but if they put the 3D version of the game on the same disc as Sony said they were able to do with other titles it would probably be no more than 25 GB's

One of the interviews said the disk was nearly full, but that just could have been the reporter talking out his bottom.

But in Kaz's case, he usually means it. Hideo Kojima is probably the only other person who comes close, though GT5 blows MGS4 out of the water.

Guerilla Games and Naughty Dog say hi.

Thing is though, Kaz says alot of stuff which umm, turn out to be wrong.

Okay, so there's a few of them that stand out. And while Kaz might say things that turn out to be incorrect, I don't think he's lying on this one. GT5's graphics make Forza's look like a cartoon (though in Forza's defence, most of the screenshots I see are custom liveries with cartoon themes), so I'd say that GT5 is pushing the Playstation to its limits.

I actually agree with Kaz that some of the features released earlier should be in the next generation, especially with the amount of details that is going into the game. We know there's a lot of PC and other games that can simulate rain/snow/damage and whatnot with 16 plus cars, but even that, the level of detail that goes into the cars, track, and the crowd is not even close, and we're talking about a system, console game. If it's not pushing the Ps3, I don't know what will. It should at least be close.

Anyway, if it's over 9,000, I'll certainly be needing a new HDD. Seriously though, I only have 2 free gigs left, I need to anyway.

God i hate that, i hope GT5 doesn't allow the same level of customisation for the livery editor. They need to limit the number of layers on the car to say 50 or something, i don't wanna see cartoon characters sprayed over cars in GT5.

I was referring to GT5 pushing the PS3 to it's limits. I said not the PS3, but maybe Blu-Ray to it's limits.

I know this is a radical thought and all that, but have you ever considered just not looking at such vehicles if they bother you so much?

blu-ray isn't even close to its limits it can go up to 250gb if you get the right sort of disk, he is talking about the ps3s hardware and yes that will be pushed a lot it would suprise me if there is no custom sound track or text chat

To answer the question in the thread title: VERY BIG!

Well, in my opinion, the game should be in the 23 GB range. I might be saying a lot a wrong things since I'm not a technical expert but I'd say they're using a standard single-layer Blu-Ray since the top-side of the disk will have all the usual decoration and therefor be unreadable. Also KY has also mentioned that they nearly used all the available space.
