Surely you guys have seen or driven the Echo Yaris Vitz? It's an abominable 1.5 litre subcompact in real life (I get that most of us are enthusiasts used to much sportier cars!).

I feel a bit aggreived with the Echo Yaris Vitz because it PALES in comparison to wonderful old Toyota Starlet.

But things get interesting if you stick 135hp into a subcompact.

This is what we know as Yaris. I guess that older pre 2000 model was here sold as Starlet.

Maybe there’s a chance the forthcoming McLaren F1 will herald a new class? See it’s not a track day special but rather a genuine competition racer. Let’s not forget the reason why Polyphony chose this particular model and particular livery was that it WON Le Mans back in 1995. The Toyota GT-One and Nissan R390, without a doubt two iconic cars for the series, will inevitably return to the series at some point in the future. Surely these 3 cars at least won’t just all be parked in Group X?

Agree with all these comments that a Gr. GT1 would be the best choice. But given the debacle with the Group C racers I’m not holding my breath. Just kills me that for most of us this seems like such an obvious thing to do in terms of classification and yet polyphony predictably drop the ball every time.

Despite being only 5 cars though it’s a great pack. Hyped for the Huayra especially and the SLR brings fond memories of GT4.

Curveball prediction? Ascari drops as this months new track.

This update could just be small sized cause February is a short calendar month.
Maybe the next track will be small to develop too. Or something in the pipeline since last year.

That would only make sense if the update weren't coming out in March.

To be competitive in Gr.2 the F1 GTR would need quite alot more downforce than it realistically does, Gr.3 is the best fit unfortunately.

And a Gr.GT1 would be broken as hell if a 1998 911 GT1 was put up against 1990 F40 LMs and 1995 F1 GTRs.

A lot of depate on the class for F1 GTR. I think its a perfect fit and addition to either gr3 or gr2 - thats what BOP is for. Id see it in gr3, and would prefer to see the longtail in gr2 or gr1. I rather see more cars in fewer classes than few cars in many classes. I dont see the point of realistic classes in a game that combines so many different types/eras of race cars. You take two cars 5 years apart from any given class of racing and they are far from being competitive in real life. Its not simulator, its a game with e-sports orientation.

That reminded me two things id love to see. A BOP class for all those historic race cars and a nascar track. We dont even need a nascar as races could be single make oval races, but i dont see it as that big of a task to create Nascar "Basecar" for everyone to create what ever liveries they want. Possibility to put fake headlights and grilles you want as a livery would give us a great variety of "Nascars".

Slamming the Miata as an example of a poor race car shows you know little about racing. Massively popular club car around the world. Dominating SSCA events all over when I was last participating. Lookitup. Then you’ll know more than nothing Jon Snow. Massive race heritage to that car.

Track day bro!

It may not be fast but I'm still looking forward to driving the old

Almost twenty years ago a guy in the VW club I was in had an early gen Miata turbocharged. He brought it to a solo II event and let me drive it. Thing was an absolute beast. If I remember correctly he had top time on street tires that day.

Most who actually go racing and been active in the car scene in the last 30 years know the Miata very well, many Auto enthusiast credit the Miata with saving the sports car. Its the perfect entry level racing platform

Miata's "track readiness" is somewhat diminished in GT Sport due to very limited upgrade capabilities. We can't install aero packages, we can't install rollcages, we can't put on forced induction or even do an engine swap (Flying Miata would be sick tho, ngl). All we can do is increase/decrease power and weight by simply moving sliders. And i am not talking about fine tuning, we still can do that. I talk about upgrades

Because, let's be honest, Miata has very little chance of going fast on track without sufficient upgrades, and the wide range of said available upgrades is what makes Miata a great starter car for track-days and whatnot (sort of like Honda Civic or maybe VW Golf)

Now, i'm not saying Miata would be a **** car in GTS. It would be great and even might be competitive to some level. But the GTS'es limited upgrade system seriously reduces the potential of the car, know what I am saying?

Hell, look at GT86/BRZ. People do all kinds of stuff to these cars: street cruisers, stance, track-day, drift-spec. I've even seen some rally-spec GT86-es. People put turboes and superchargers on these things, but in GTS we can't even get past N300 with the power upgrades, let alone installing aero packages

TTM
I did get a Miata as a first car, but the NB version.
Beat that stupid MRS in the clubman race or whatever the 2nd event was.
Sunday cup. Trail mountain. I could only keep up with that MR2.

They don't really allow a lot of that in Miata Spec. No engine upgrades really. I think a SRI or CAI with a high flow filter is allowed, maybe an exhaust. They regulate the suspension package for adjustability and limit how far you can adjust, stock brakes, stock diffs, and regulated tires. A bunch more I don't recall all the details but not much you can do.

That MR-S was real annoying. And then it came back in the first GT World Championship in GT300 form where it was even more annoying.

Looks on point

Why assume its the Race Car version when the shadow image has no wing? As I see many others assuming too, if anything it looks like the road going version

The New Supra IS NOT just a Z4 in Toyota cloths.......... Thats honestly ignorant.

I used to hate on the new Supra as just a Z4 in Toyota cloths but I was wrong, my ignorance got the best of me. After getting educated I learned the New Supra and New Z4 are not just BMWs in fact the old Z4 was discontinued, if not for Toyota pushing the co-development of the all new platform to support the 2 cars, neither would exist. After platform development the 2 cars chassis are developed seperatly. The New turbo 6 in the 2 is a BMW engine BUT it was further developed by Toyota to meet Toyota's reliability standards, so its a BMW engine with Toyota reliability that's a fine match.

Bonus too is Toyota got access to M spec parts.

Now hopefilly (and I have a hunch its true) Toyota is working on a true manual transmission and we got all the right ingredients.

Some of yall crying about new content Lmfao dont cry while its still coming, understand not all updates may appeal to you they might appeal to other players :O you're not special enough for special treatment. Best advice is appreciate all new content because it will stop suddenly like GT6 that was kinda left unfinished.
Do you remember when we saw the Ford GT LM race car at first? I didn't have wing aswell, at least we couldn't see it on the picture. Many people expected that it is some another road version, or perhaps even a racing version of GT40. But later on when it was added we found out it had wing, because it was the LM version.

To those complaining about 5 cars:
Maybe PD has something bigger in store for us? Snow, rain, or even Spa?:lol:
Just getting you excited. I really expect it's simply due to delay in setting up the event somewhat. This will be like last November.

Getting doubtful at this point, The game got stale a very long time ago, Literally the only thing that keeps me coming back are the Livery Editor Competitions on here,

I mean who does not like Spa? Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is part of the legendary motorsport tracks in the same way as Le Mans, Indianapolis or Monaco, with great racing history.

I hear you. The Biggest downside with gts is the upgrade system. Is the worst upgrade system since gt5 prolugue. Hopefully they have learn their lession with this and bring it back with next game in the franchise the viper gts 2002 suffers from this new upgrades system along with so many Others. Its 300 hp down campared to gt6. 800 hp is not bad but its so small in campersion to gt6 Numbers. And dc2 integra in last update had around 400 hp in gt6 now in gt sport just 300 hp. And with the new sounds it would be cool to see how the exhausts would sound like. But i miss the lack of turbo and superchargers. Aston Martin one77 was a 1200 hp car in gt6 now just 988 hp. I am excited for the huayra that was the single down quickest road car in gt6 with over 1200 hp. But i am afraid they will nerf it with at least 200 hp, with this boring upgrade system. It could still be a great rival for lafarrari, enzo and the veyron.

Getting quited bored with all these supercars. Where are cars like the stock S2000, Celica GT4, Celica ZZT231, Toyota MR-S, Vitz RS, CRX, Civic EG/EK and possibly finally the EF9, Glanza, 3000 GT, FTO. That is what made GT great.

We need more Japanese cars no doubt and even so classic hot hatches from Europe like the 106 Rallye etc. There are tons to add and cup cars would be a great addition too like the Vitz Netz cup etc

Basically we need GT6 with GTS graphics/physics.

i dont understand those people. Im welcoming every new track.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing the track in the game, but at this point any possible enthusiasm I would've had for the track has completely faded because of how utterly obnoxious the fandom for Spa-Francorchamps is. For the past year or so we've constantly had to deal with vitriolic, angry posts condemning PD for not adding the track to the game (although that can be applied to every track in the game, it's just that the complaints about the lack of Spa are significantly more commonplace) so I'm personally just sick of hearing about it at this point and I imagine many others are as well.

The highest number of cars, from an update, that I added to my garage was 6. That was from the second update that brought new cars. Since then, the maximum I've added, per update, has been 3 cars, and there are 3 cars that interest me in this next update. So, a good number in my book.

I don't know why the partnership with Formula E may slow down their modelling schedule too much, considering you only need to model 2 cars to get the entire field. And that's assuming both generations of Formula E are coming. If it's just the current generation, that's just one car, with different liveries.

Most updates so far have brought cars similar to those you list there. This update is no exception with the MX-5 and Supra. So there is a pattern that should give you some peace of mind.

Except for the abomination that is the NC.
Easy now. I had a NC, and really liked it, but having been on a Miata forum, I'm all to familiar with the generational gap. The NA-NB guys rarely were fans of the NC, and the ND is the bastard step-child.

I think the NBs are ugly. :yuck:

Just to rub some salt in the wounds, here’s the F1 GTR in Grid Autosport racing GT500 cars on

Spmahcrocnarf Aps

You know you honestly had me almost google what the frigg the track you mention was :lol::lol:.

But I understood it as soon as I watched the video and read APS backwords!

Aside of the SPA force.
Am I the only one hear who secretly thinks that we may get Mazda Laguna Seca back even tho it does not contain the Mazda anymore because of the Miata and the 30 year anniversary of the Miata??
No?? Ok moving on then...
