The physics difference will probably be pretty much zero in Horizon though, which is why I find a bit disappointing.

Woah. This is one of the first packs where it hasn't just been stuff from the previous Forza isn't it?

I'm hype to have that Renegade and Crown Vic tho.
All of the Forza Motorsport 6 car packs featured "new cars" as well.

Personally I'm not interested in car packs anymore; the game already has 300+ cars for me to enjoy, I don't "need" any more.

It's not a bad pack, I like a lot of the cars, but I guess it's not the first impression I expected from this over-the-top game. I dunno what I was expecting, though, a pack of land speed record cars and a hovercraft or something?

@Harakudoshi @buickgnx88 @Bastet - I worded that wrong. As @Brend alluded to, I don't expect it to feel very different to the remarkably similar-looking current Wrangler. I also don't know how many casual players will really know the finer differences either.

Of course, I recognize that the M2 isn't terribly different from the M235i either, nor the BC from the regular Huayra. I'd say, performance-wise, the 340R is even pretty close to the first-gen Elise... but I only just realized that isn't in the game!

Anyone speak this language?

1

Smoking tire dlc

2016 aston Martin vulcan
2016 bmw m2
2016 pagani huayra bc
2016 spania gta
2010 ford crown victoria police interceptor
1976 jeep cj-5 renegade
2000 lotus 340 R

The pack is on twitter.
Is it bad that i'm far more interested in the Crown Vic than anything else? The rest is a bonus for me.
I can't wait for the upco......Umm...guys..why everyone are disappointed?

@Lameonade I actually made a mistake on my last post, while I did used to have you on my list but not so now...

Sorry...:guilty:

Who has me on their drivitar lineup?

Ken
@Luminis, that just means that you are that much closer to the end of the campaign. Something I'm not looking forward to.
Eh not really. I'm at 19% completion and have 13/15 barn finds.

The Crown Vic? Really? Rather than the 300+ horsepower muscle car version that is the 2004 Mercury Marauder, they add the ho-hum every day Ford model?
That's like adding a 328i rather than an M3. Just daft.
I'd much prefer things like this. I wouldn't mind a few normal cars. Not every thing has to be the highest spec model of everything ever.

I liked this, unliked it, then liked it again. Honestly, the cars I have the most fun in the game are the "average" cars. The cars that can't do non-stop burnouts and can barely break 100mph.

Also, another funny. On the official forums there was someone posting threads with the car names. The threads have been moved to a forum we don't have access to, but much like here, it just says "Moved - Blah blah blah dlc car" so they didn't do a very good job at keeping that hidden lol.

I did the Goliath race for the first time last night and made a Blueprint with the time and weather set to Dawn/Fog. With no music, it's both beautiful and eerie at the same time. The "race around the map" events are one of the best things about the Horizon games, honestly. It's a good way to appreciate the gorgeous environments that Playground put effort into making. And personally, they remind me of the classic NFS games on the PS1.

I'm looking forward to running Goliath every day. As someone who doesn't have much time to play on the weekdays, running a few laps of this race in a HE car will be a decent method to build up credits, XP, and skill points before I can really dive in the game on the weekends.

As for the DLC pack, the choices don't really stand out for me on paper but the trailer and screenshots may change my mind.

I've wanted a 340R in a good driving game for... Oh, about 16 years. This is awesome.

I would have said 13 years, but then I never played PGR2.

This is a TOCA WTC throwback I'd love to try again after three console generations. A fairly modern Lotus that rarely gets a mention these days along with the Europa S, so it's great to see them take it on-board.

Is the entire pack enough of an incentive for me to grab a car pass just yet? Unlikely. Given how little I've done so far I can stand to wait another month or two before adding more driving options.

Every time a Smoking Tire car pack is released it causes individuals who don't know what The Smoking Tire is to ask "where are the drift cars?". I find this a little funny

Also, why is the Motorsport All-Stars pack hidden away from the storefront? You can only find it by searching for it. Guess they want to sell Ultimate Editions?

All I hope is that I can drive the Crown Victoria without the police lights on the roof, I want to make an unmarked model.
I wouldn't worry. The 'Police Interceptor' subname just indicates that it's a pursuit-prepped Crown Vic with the monstrous V8, much like the newer Explorer and it's pursuit package. Just think of it as a performance version. It's not until it gets issued to a police department that it gains police lights and stuff.

All Crown Victorias had the 4.6 V8. The Police Interceptors are specifically cop cars.

Yeah, so long as you ignore almost all of FM5's.
But Forza 5 did not get a port of any kind of previous console generation cars.
All were created from scratch, even those -like me- who thought that late fm4 cars would be usable soon realized the deal.
so some of the most-wanted cars entered the game as dlc or even at forza 6. there have been numeros topics in official forum asking -yelling- for a long list of cars to come ack. and rightfuly so.
Still, there were lots of great cars making the debut in the entire forza history even in forza 5, a console debut game.
Out of memory, the 60s,70s race cars, m.y. 2015 cars, rolls royce debut, the old audis, etc.

Not all were, the second biggest use of the Police Interceptor equipped cars was taxi duty.

Yeah this simply isn't true.

Agreed on that. Some may have been rebuilt, but there are still some that have flaws and bad modeling found in the Xbox 360 versions.

The taxis were a long wheel base version that wasn't commercially available IIRC

Doesn't just about everyone complain that we only ever get M3s and RS5s and never any lower end models?

You'll never please everyone I guess.

I had to look it up, I didn't realize they had versions other than the P71 Police Interceptor and the P73 public model. The P70 was the long wheelbase commercial model, and the P72 was the regular wheelbase commercial model, both of which were used for taxis. So you are correct in that the Police Interceptor model was specifically designed for police use, but I suppose it is possible that they could have been eventually used for taxi service.
