With what PD have been doing with GT5 and GT6, I fear that we may not be seeing any Senna content until it's too late.

For me personally, it's already too late. I have given up on hoping for news/patches/updates/content from PD, and I am way past caring about the GT series...no matter what they do in the future.

I really don't care if the GT series reinvents itself and becomes the game I desire or dies a quiet death, by the time we find out there will be other options that will do the job of a making me feel like I'm a racing driver fighting for precious points in a Motorsport championship.

There is absolutely no reason for me to think that anything will change in the future either, all evidence points to GT7 being the same game and PD not talking to it's customers or keeping promises.

PD haven't even given me a reason to give them the benifit of the doubt, GT6 isn't a good enough game for me to turn a blind eye to the way that PD treat us.

I agree with a previous post that the Senna content will at best be a Redbull event clone or at worst a single TT.

They have showed how they consider their loyal customers/fans and I will show how I consider PD by never buying another GT game...I'm serious about this, I'm not just venting or being an keyboard tough guy, I just feel that I have grown out of this game...the childlike UI and sounds, the sterile feel and look of the tracks, no rules/flags, the 3,2,1 start! The utter useless single player mode.

If I don't like the game I know what I can do, and I will!

There are a lot better ways to show your respect and mark the anniversary of the great A. Senna than waiting for PD to do it for you...which will probably not do the man justice anyway.

Totally agree with you. More and more people should think like you , it seem GT fans are SM lol !!!

Just to remind eveyone of PD's form i'm going to leave this here:

'An interview with U.S. Gran Turismo producer Taku Imasaki recorded after last month’s GT6 reveal was just recently published by GamerHub.tv, and it contained a few interesting tidbits of information.

Taku confirms that “at least one additional track per month will be downloadable.”'

Don't make me hate PD more than I already do.

Maybe I'm just being picky here, but I disagree with these two points.

For one, GT is far too big a franchise to die a quiet death. It's one of the most popular racing games series in history. Its fall is going to be everything but quiet.

Secondly, what evidence exactly do you mean that points you towards thinking of GT7 turning out the same as previous games? We haven't even seen any OFFICIAL statements - all we heard about GT7 was from Twitter and some Sony insider here.

Unless I missed something :D

All fair points. GT5 was a huge failure for PD but I was willing to give them a second chance with GT6 given the good will i've had since GT1.

With all those broken promises and so far failing to deliver the content I paid for last year (course maker etc), this is also the end of the road for me.

And what if the Senna dlc will be officially announced on May the 1st, and then becomes downloadable a couple of days later? It's a scenario that would somewhat explain the silence so far.

Im an old timer to GT and to these forums. Check my profile, if you dont believe me, bruh. Either way, I generally dont really agree with a lot of folks here and their opinions. However; PIP_36 is an exception. I totally agree with his insight on the future progress of the GT series and how its dealt with.

1: I wasn't making a point or suggesting that it will die a quiet death, I was just stating that I don't care if it does.

2: To predict the behaviour of someone or something you need to look at that someone's or something's history, unless there has been any evidence to suggest a change then its safe to say that this someone or something will behave just as it did in the past.

In PD's case, even if they come out and state that GT7 will be the best racing/driving game ever...will you believe them?

What is the point of releasing anything Senna related on the anniversary of the mans death? To me that is wrong. His birthday would have been a far more appropriate time.

To me it depends on what they do, however in general i think the anniversary of him entering F1 last month would have been better.

if they just use it to get more cash for dlc origionally advertised at launch it would be beyond a joke and disrespectful.

Wow. You posted everything how I feel towards PD and the GT series, which is why I've been very negative lately. Since PD doesn't care about their fanbase, I too won't be caring about them either. Their a joke to the market anyways. I refuse to blindly defend them, since they don't care if you do or not.

***

From 1st to 4th May 2014 at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari International Motor Racing Circuit, homage to Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger will be paid by fans and leading figures from Motorsport.

For months now, speculation has been appearing about the Imola date, bringing together those who hold Senna’s memory dear, calling them to assemble in May at the place that saw some of Ayrton’s finest victories and a record number of pole positions. And where these drivers met their fate twenty years ago this year.

To these fans Imola Racetrack will open its gates from 1st to 4th May, so that everyone can join together in the same place, and in our thoughts, with Ayrton and with Roland, remembering that tragic race weekend. The circuit at Imola offers itself as a track for your memories and emotions, enabling us to testify to a great joy and passion for racing and for sport and to commemorate how this sacrifice led to decisive technical changes in the level of safety in Formula 1.

Over four days the Imola circuit will welcome everyone wishing to pay homage to an unforgettable Brazilian driver. Paddock, pits and circuit will be open to all who want to admire vehicles of the period, view the exhibitions of memorabilia and photos, hear the stories of contemporaries, discover published and some unpublished film footage, take part in discussions with Ayrton’s friends, colleagues, with journalists, artists and figures from that era, alongside past and present-day personalities from Formula 1 linked to each other by their personal involvement in Ayrton’s life and times.

At a time – sadly – of some estrangement between Formula 1 and the public at large, Imola offers a chance for everyone to discover this beautiful racetrack in the Santerno Valley. Drive around it by car, by motorbike, by kart, with friends and family, in a supercar, or – if you prefer – on a bicycle, jogging or walking. Everybody, if and as they wish, can go around Ayrton’s circuit, united in having Ayrton and Roland in our hearts.

Imola will provide the natural backdrop for the occasion: rich in meaning for the history of Motorsport and hosting for the event Formula 1 teams, prestigious car manufacturers and top-level racing teams. These will be joined by supporter’s clubs, journalists, collectors, artists and writers, all bringing their own tribute, bearing witness with their own beloved cars, their jewels, their own expressions of ingenuity, technology and talent. But thanks go above all to those who took part and who still take part in racing’s memorable challenges: the drivers and engineers of yesterday and of today who will be with us at Imola to mark how, ever since that day, safety has remained our watchword.

Closely associated with this event since its inception, the Ayrton Senna Institute is a major Brazilian organization, founded by Ayrton in 1994, that takes care of the education of differently able children. The foundation is chaired today by Ayrton’s sister Viviane; having granted its patronage to our event, a part of each day’s proceeds will go towards the Institute’s charitable works.

Ayrton Senna Exhibition
Checco Costa Museum, Imola Motor Racing CircuitPut on especially during the event days, a remarkable exhibition at Checco Costa Museum will be telling of Ayrton Senna’s life and sporting successes. The exhibition contains unique items from private collections which are now being shown to the public in their entirety for the first time. It comprises go-karts, bikes, Formula racing cars (Toleman, Lotus, Williams F1) and many memorabilia of the Brazilian racing driver who won so many hearts among motorsport fans the world over.

The PaddockThe Paddock at Imola Racing Circuit will be the beating heart of the”Ayrton Senna Tribute 1994-2014”. Usually reserved for team pass holders, it will be transformed into a great arena containing driving simulators and attractions such as a chance to take part in pit-stop competitions, use a radio-controlled model car track, electric karts and F1 pedal cars for children. On display inside the pits will be exhibitions of photographs, artistic and unique objects from the story of Senna, along with cars and motorcycles, historical and present-day exhibits, street-legal and racing cars, brought together in homage to Ayrton by Formula 1 teams, leading car makers and private collectors. Most interesting, you will be able to meet many racing drivers, some who have contributed to the history of motor sport and others who are its stars today, all of them eager to be present at this event in Imola: living proof that our passion for challenge lives on. Knowing Ayrton, he would appreciate it.

no presence of Sony / PD

"Yes, we know that the anniversary is today but we won't give you the content for another few days because we feel that makes more sense."-PD logic.
"It's March, let's open those Christmas presents."-PD logic.

Dem Hate....It makes Derpy Sad.

Seriously chill. I can complain a lot about GT6 but its matter of time. Give em at least a month to announce something. Something they promised....yeah.

Really? You don't see why that would be like "Really Bad Taste"

Adding Senna content featuring his great cars and home circuit would be a great way to remember him.

The only way it would be bad taste would be if they added Imola, the 94' Williams and parts failure (e.g. Steering Column).

Edit: As for cash grabs, PD should release it for free OR give a percentage of the money from each download to the Ayrton Senna foundation.

Ohhh okay, I seem to have misunderstood your post completely...

To answer your question... No, never. I refuse to give PD my money if GT6 doesn't feature all the promised release content by January 2015 to begin with.

I agree it would be a great tribute to him and his racing career adding the 94 Williams may be but it wasn't actually a failure in the car that caused the problem what caused the accident was his car was to low to the ground and it caught a bump meaning he had no control so even that car wouldn't be to bad

Because it's an event honoring his life and career, not a time for cash grabs to be announced.
Why you can't make "money" and "honoring his life and career" at the same time?. I don't get the point , so because there are making money on the death of senna it is disrecpectul ??? What do you think the Senna family do ???? (with all the respect I have for Senna ) .

and parts failure (e.g. Steering Column).
Translated to GT language, is mechanical damage
Also:
Edit: As for cash grabs, PD should release it for free OR give a percentage of the money from each download to the Ayrton Senna foundation.
Anything for charity isn't really considered a cash grab if its on low price and has a decent content.

his family make loads of money by using his image all around the world his death wasn't totally bad as his death helped the safety of formula one and the rest of the racing community loads and saying otherwise is actually disrespectful his family can do whatever they want with his name and image

Unproven.

Of course they can make money using his image. It's goes into the Instituto Ayrton Senna, which is the non-profit charity he founded in 1994.

If PD does release the Senna content for a price, which they most likely will be doing, unless 100% of the earnings from that DLC go to IAS, it can be considered a cash grab for PD as they would be making money off it.

Because it's an event honoring his life and career, not a time for cash grabs to be announced.
You're assuming the content is paid for. If it's free would that still be a "cash grab"? Maybe they are going to donate some or all of the proceeds to the Senna Foundation.

If PD does release the Senna content for a price, which they most likely will be doing,
What is the basis for this assumption?
