Getting back on topic, ever thought of the possibility that the FT-1 VGT could have been designed to compete in a single-make racing series, thus making it a legitimate race car by some of your definitions? đź’ˇ

Technically, a lot of the VGT cars are racing cars if you really study them. The BMW, the XR-Phev, the Golf VGT and of course the DP-100 and 2020 Concept. All of them have very clear elements straight from racing.

Where's that from?!

here

The FT-1 VGT has a very close cousin that's already in the game.

Lexus IS-F Racing Concept says hi.

This and Aston VGT teaser doesn't sound like a real-life recordings. I think Kaz is playing with us. (again)

It is very GT500-y.

If it is confirmed to be a GT500 competitor, then great, everyone could settle down and agree this is a race car. If not, what's stopping us from imagining this as a single-make race car? Especially as GT6 is a racing game where you can... err... race! :p

Yeah, I would say some of those are racing cars, especially as Mercedes created a second VGT tagged as a racing model.

Normal car
Track car
Race car

Normal car that can be tracked
Normal car that race = Race car

Track car that can be used on normal road = "Normal" car
Track car that are used to race on closed circuit, cannot be considered as Race car

Race cars used on the road are just for shows, not legal.
Race cars used as track day cars = you're doing it wrong
Race cars are meant to be racing on circuit, period.

Based on all the above statements, the FT-1 VGT (i consider the first in as a VGT anyways, which is much closer to reality than any other VGT) is a race car!

That should help you all stop from bickering...

Conclusion:
Toyota, for all intented purposes, has already released its VGT, this time around, due to lazyness, they are going to release a Race version of their VGT, just like what Mercedes did: a VGT, and a Race VGT.

I dont know what can be so jard to understand after all...

Better to have the normal FT-1 a VGT title in the first place. Taking already ingame concept as Toyota VGT are lazier than BMW.

What next? Honda's VGT being the tuned NSX Concept?

If Honda did do that, they would be rebranding this, which would be an even lazier move

Dude, nobody was arguing that the VGT was a racing car. I feel you kinda missed a lot of things.

Also, how? The FT-1 concept was not initially a design meant for VGT, it was a design study celebrating the 40th anniversary of Calty Design studio. Only this design is actually meant for VGT.

I see you too forgot about the Mercedes VGT and the Mitsubishi. Are they lazy too?

I also see people didn't take issue with VW's VGT being a Golf, which is already an existing design.

Stoked for this one, will definitely be firing the PS3 up again when this is released.
Toyota making me proud to be a fan again...Keep up the good work Toyota 👍

Yet another new car that I can't test at Suzuka due to the fact that

1) It's not ****ing real
2) It has customizable parts installed

Thanks, PD.

Well I take it you hate VGT. 1: though shouldn't matter. Fixed - it is "won't" not "can't".

Ok...:odd:

Not sure why that's a deal breaker, nobody is confining you to these perimeters you seem so intent on.

Except the Mercedes VGT were deliberately made from the VGT base so its not really count. The Mitsubishi are from the concept car. The BMW on the other hand looks like it can be made IRL from the now sold 3 series.

Thats because its radical enough to be a new car, at least for most people here. Plus it has a previous version that still an hatchback but didnt go to VGT. Its called..... VW Golf Vision GTI (no joke).

But according to you:

And the original Mercedes VGT was already in the game from the release, wasn't it?

Point being the "Originality" complaints seem just over the top and unnecessary considering this isn't the first car that already was based on something in-game or something previously existing in some shape or form (just like most of the VGTs).

See the above post.

What im trying to say is the Merc racing were based on the VGT, so only add the spoiler and change some settings doesnt matter since they already have their VGT. On the other hand the Toyota is based on the non-VGT concept ingame, not even a really major change either. Would be make less fuss if the FT1 is labeled as VGT in the first place OR dont label the racing version as VGT, which they didnt.

Beautiful race car! I liked original FT-1 and can wait to drive it on track!:cool:

Dont get me wrong, it would be a very nice car. It reminds me of numerous classic toyota race cars.

But if you ask me, that didnt really deserved a VGT title since either the base model already exists ingame and the base model itself didnt have the VGT title. It should be called FT1 Racing Concept like the Lexus.

This will perhaps be my favorite Vision GT car.

A version of toyota's concept car doesnt make it a vision, UNLESS toYOTA said initially that the FT-1 is a vision.

We all accept the addition of the FT-1 race car, but not as a vision.

Toyota basically still owe us a vision.

I was really hoping for the Alfa Romeo VGT, but this... I.. uh, well... I'm okay with this.

The crazy concepts are fun and all, but it's good to see cars a little more based in reality take a turn in the VGT ranks. Besides, maybe it'll give me a good car to run in the GT3-type Super races.

I guess my one complaint about most of the VGT cars is they all fit the same flowing-lines, liquid-metal-poured-over-frame, powered by quad-turbocharged V-16 and pixie dust sort of idea. Like I said, it's fun to see what they come up with, but the more extreme it gets, the more uninteresting it can get. In fact the VGT cars I have are my least driven cars in the garage.

By that case, we shouldn't accept Mitsubishi's Vision GT either.

But I'm not complaining, because at this point, anything is great.
