The pieces of the puzzle are starting to fall into place! Heavy rumors about the PSP2 were just released today by gaming site 1UP, and Gran Turismo Mobile popped up on their radar. Hardware details will remain sketchy until the system is announced at E3, but we do know that the original PSP’s UMD media format will be dropped in favor of software downloads. From 1UP’s article:
In addition, since the UMD is going away, Sony will have over 100 classic and new PSP titles available for download at launch (Gran Turismo Mobile is said to be one of the premier launch titles).
They go on to mention the PSP2 is set to launch in October/November of this year – a date which should ring a bell to frequent readers. November falls closely in line with what our own insider, Amar212, has been saying for some time now. Other details from his cryptic postings also help connect the dots. In regards to the PSP2, for example, Amar states:

This makes even more sense when viewed in context of a PSP2 launch. Of course, this raises the question: would Sony actually want to release the massive Gran Turismo 5 alongside Gran Turismo Mobile? It’s certainly a possibility, but things get a little more interesting when you consider other statements by Amar…
First wind whispers that final reunion will happen thirty nights before twelve months pass and that all winds from the whole world will reunite in the same moment for the first time.
That’s open to interpretation – is Amar referring to the 11th month of the year (November), or 11 months from the date he posted his message (March)? Assuming that Sony does not want to release two GT games at the same time, a March launch of GT5 suddenly begins to look much more likely…

Well I bought a PS3 for GT5 … :(
So if GT Mobile is released “ONLY” for PSP2, then PD is the biggest scam in the world. I bought PSP for GT Mobile in 2004 when they announced GT Mobile :(
And our very friend Jordan will be at E3 to give is live coverage updating us on any GT5 news and posting it on the site, right? lol

Its not the PSP2, Its just a new PSP with a different design. The major difference is that it may not have a UMD slot. It wont play any games that you cant play on the older models. Im hoping GT Mobile and GT5 will be out by the end of the year.
Oh, dear, GT5 isn’t coming out as soon as we expected, we’ve all got to commit suicide… Wake up guys, it will be worth the wait…
This is so ridiculous! Where did i buy my psp 1000 for then! great, looks like where playing GT5 somewhere in 2011. :(
More and more i start to think why i didin’t buy a 360, also more and more exclusive titles disappear.

If they are pushing the release of GT5 to march 2010 I am going to sell my PS3 and buy a xbox360 too. I have been waiting for gt5 now over 3 years…

Good and bad news.
The good news is that one of the winds is looking to be true
The bad news is if the PSP2 is released in november and GT mobile is one of the launch titles and if sony don’t want to release 2 Gran Turismo at the same time well that means that GT5 could be in stores only in march 2010 but sony has moved uncharted 2 release date from november to september maybe to clear space for 2 awesome games (GT5 and GTmobile). I hope we will get news at E3 about GT5, atleast a release date come on sony and PD
Let’s hope all feature “PSP2” Games will run on current PSP hardwares (1000,2000,3000 series).
If GT5 for the ps3 is going to be released march 2010- thats a joke! I’m sorry but I’m gonna buy a 360 and forza 3!

I’m going to have to buy a new PSP to play GT Mobile. So, what will be the new way of getting games? Better not be cartridges. How about memory stick size cards. Store more data and smaller size.
It’s worth noting that Sony have moved the launch of Uncharted 2 from it’s expected slot of end of november to a september date. a very unusual move.
Seems to me that Sony are making room in the christmas launch window for something bigger…

GT Mobile was to be GT4 in portable form.
If your going to release on the PSP then surely they will have been developing GT5 for both PSP(2) and PS3. It doesnt make sense to have two different games, particulary if this is a PSP2 title and maybe not even compatible with PSP(1)
It also makes more sense to me that you will be able to do certain things on the PSP version using your PS3 gamesave/replays/photos/garage and “My Page” features.

This is great news, but if all of this is indeed true then I’m selling my PS3. I love the GT series to death, but I can’t keep it boxed up for about a year playing GT5 Prologue every now and again doing the same things over and over again.
