GT6 Update 1.06 Brings GPS Visualizer, 3D Compatibility, Custom Rear Wings & More

13673979574_cde4b86f8a_c

The sixth update for Gran Turismo 6 is now available, and it brings with it the GPS visualizer, data logger, custom rear wings, 3D compatibility, as well as adjustments to the open lobby for multiplayer games.

Here’s the official list of changes in v1.06 weighing in at a conservative 295MB, and as always, keep an eye on our GT6 forum as our community explores and discovers more undocumented tweaks.

Data Logger now available

  • [Data Logger] has been added to the [TOOLS] section in “My Home”. The Data Logger analyzes the driving data stored on a Replay file and displays it in a graph, allowing users to view and compare variations in vehicle speed, acceleration points, braking points, engine rpm values and gear positions.

GPS Visualizer function introduced

  • [GPS Visualizer] has been added to the [TOOLS] section in “My Home”. By driving a car equipped with the “Sports Drive Logger” (sold by Toyota) on a real-life circuit, the recorded GPS data can be transferred to “Gran Turismo 6” via a compatible USB storage media, and then subsequently converted into Replay file in the game. It’s be possible to compare and analyze these GPS data using the [Data Logger] feature. This feature is currently available with Fuji Speedway, Tsukuba Circuit and Suzuka Circuit, with more tracks to be added later on.

Custom Rear Wing option implemented

  • [Custom Rear Wing] has been added to the [External Parts] menu, accessible from the [Custom Parts] options within the [Tuning & Maintenance] section in “My Home”. You can choose a combination of wing mounts, wing style and side winglets. Users can also adjust the height and width of the wing to their liking. (*Please note this feature isn’t compatible with certain cars.)

3DTV compatibility now added

  • A [3DTV] option has been added to the [Display] category within the [Options] screen in the [MENU] (accessible by pressing the START button). A 3D compatible TV is required for this feature.

Adjustments to the Open Lobby

  • From the Member List, it is now possible to see the Performance Points, maximum output and weight of the cars that have joined the room.
  • An “Overall Best” time is now displayed on screen while in Practice, Qualifying, Time Trial and Drift Trial.
  • The minimum value for [Max Power Limit] and [Minimum Weight] has been changed from 10 to 1.
  • The options available in the [Race Type] menu within [Room Settings] of the “Event Settings” screen have been changed.

Other improvements and adjustments

  • The Traction Control System (TCS) which is activated when driving off-track is now used only in sand/gravel pits.
  • The strength of the “Real” option for the [Slipstream Strength] parameter within [Race Settings] when creating a room in [Open Lobby], has been weakened.

    GT6 status check:
Major bugs fix (online Mount Panorama hanging, PIT bug, sector times) – negative
    Regular DLCs – negative
    Course maker – negative
News or comments from PD – negative

    My mood – negative.

  2. z71L28

Really enjoying the data logger feature, only feature I found has value in new update. 1 draw back though, unable to delete replays WTF! :/ .

  3. Creakken

I can’t update to 1.06. My ps3 doesn’t even download the new update. It takes a few seconds and then it crashes and restarts. Do I have to wait for 1.07 and hopefully it will be able to update then?! Anyone who knows what I should do?

    1. Creakken

I solved it with the following information:

To avoid this issue, please accept to download the Update by selecting [OK] within 2 seconds of its appearance on screen when prompted. This will update the game properly.
If you wait longer than 2 seconds, please decline the Update by pressing the Circle button when the message in step 1 is displayed, then select [Back] in the subsequent “Sign-In to PSN” screen. The game will start, quit the game using the PS button while in the [My Home] screen and follow the procedure described above.

    2. Lazer808

I had this happen to me before. Problem was I was in the middle of a series race. I had to start my game offline and exit that race, then the update worked.

  4. ApexVGear

Is anyone else having trouble with GT6 after this latest update where it freezes right after the Warning screen? I’m have the “on-demand” version on my hard drive on a first-generation (piano finish) PS3. It locks up showing the GT Logo and the animated “activity” dots freeze.

I have to hold down the power button on the PS3 to get it to shut down, flip the master power switch on the back to off for a few seconds, then turn it back on, power up, wait for a file system check and restore, the dashboard launches, and then I can launch GT6.

I’ve been going through this every day since the latest update.

  5. MasterSquidP4

My favorite part of this news is that the negative feedback is justified.

And no one is kissing Kaz’s rear.

  6. Logoncal21

Wait, there’s more POSITIVE FEEDBACK THAN NEGATIVE?
    OK, THAT’S IT
I’M FREAKING UPDATING MY GT6 RIGHT NOW AND TOMMOROW I’LL PLAY IT
    BYE

  7. biftizmo

O June i missed that bit…well i’m gonna buy one and have Biftizmo track days…any one fancy ago…
lucky they stated with the GT86 ..i did always fancied me one o them..

  8. oxidonis2008

    WTF??????

[GPS Visualizer] has been added to the [TOOLS] section in “My Home”.

I mean, all (four of them) who owns Toyota with “Sports Drive Logger” probably spending their spare time in driving real Toyota on real streets, and not wasting their times on crap like GT6…
Really, who da fuk use this???? 0.001 % of players….. OMG what a waste of time….This begins to look like someone’s private game….

  9. biftizmo

Hay anyone got a GT86 out there and a USB stick ..we would like to see a video of the GPS logger in action? Any one?

    1. SZRT Ice

It’s not even available yet. It comes in June.

“The car’s functionality will be called the “Sports Drive Logger”, and will be sold as a 91,800-yen (roughly $900 USD) option for the GAZOO Racing 86/BRZ Race car, available starting June 2, 2014 through Toyota Technocraft Co.”

What’s more, it may not be exclusive to GT6 for long if you interpret their words correctly…

The press release describes GT6 as the “FIRST APPLICATION” compatible with the feature, and notes that “users will be able to compare their own driving data against those of professional drivers,” perhaps hinting at what the two companies have planned in terms of future events for the public at large.”

“First application”, not the “only application” or that you “must have Gran Turismo to use this application”.

Regardless, it’s useless to me as of now. And if I ever had the opportunity to make use of it, I’d probably do it once, just to say I did it & the entertainment purposes. But I’d imagine a well done video of my track session would be much more entertaining in hindsight then a digital representation.

  10. GTP_DeathStar

I wonder if the guys at NASA have used the Data Logger with a recorded replay of the Lunar Exploration Special Event?

…and when are they going to add more Special Events? Would a Senna Special Event be coming to that section? More Goodwood Events would be a nice addition too.

  11. OpticZero

At this rate, Gran Turismo 6 MIGHT be finished by the time Gran Turismo 7 (Prologue?) is released.

  12. kollosson

Would love to be able to put wheel arches on the Lambo LP400 to turn it into an LP400S which I think was the best looking Countach. Bumpers and skirts would be a great feature though.

  13. austindeckerGT5

I am not trying to get anybodies hopes up but honestly I think the “Custom Rear Wings” could be a hint at future “Custom Aero Kits” (Bumpers, and Skirts).

    1. TokoTurismo

No worries. But this is also what I had in mind as well. Isn’t this something like what NFS Underground 1/2 used to have? It’ll be perfect for GT. :)

    2. Quakebass

That’d be the “autoscultpt” feature from NFS Carbon – It IMMEDIATELY reminded me of that, too.

    3. TokoTurismo

Ahh okay. Uh, wait, I knew that! Haha. :) Yeah we need that in GT, because the Custom Rear Wings are awesome! :D

  14. huggie bear

I do like alot of stuff on 6. But one of the boys we race with scince 5 has now developed lag no one can give him an answer as i have seen the same lag on other players it seems to be floored in the game somewhere. Also the only other issue is the tyre wear, squeal and pit boxes not always opening. I seem to think instead of offering gps visualizer wich will only affect 1% of the worlds population who own these hair dresser sports cars it would be time well spent fixing the bugs that floor the game.

  15. biftizmo

Data logger is better..I didn’t realize how much more things you can monitor in you fastest lap..not just driver skill but also a lot of toe and angle stuff such as left side right side and ride height..quite a bit more to it now…seems a real tool. maybe in right circumstances..like real car and track..Ha ha…I so-pose if you could afford the present cars you would buy this anyway..
..I’m sure it will be cheep enough one day to strap on my SEAT shopper. to monitor my Morrison run..
yeah then I sneak off to nearest race track and come back with broken eggs..

  16. biftizmo

Strange.or maybe not..but gran-turismo.com/gb/news/..are very matter as fact about he new features..its like…we’ve added all this stuff ..bye the way main news…here’s a Toyota FT-1 Concept at Fuji Speedway in celebration..
No big fab new data logger how wonderful it is..show case…just update details! as is!
    Is stuff on the box…promise..job done…tick box…
so whats next out do we think..

    1. biftizmo

Track editor..you could make your own tracks set day night,,,then…share them…wiv yer mates…brilliant invention in GT5 that…

  17. stucar17

All welcome additions to the game, BUT PLEASE FIX THE PIT BUG SO THE LEAGUES CAN USE THE PITS AS WE HAVE IN THE PAST. Its the main killer in the game at the moment…

    1. infamousphil

Sorry dude, snot gonna happen. Better hope they keep 5 on line a bit longer. They’re obviously going in a direction most of us are not interested in.

Big name brand partnerships is what PD’s goal is now. Once a young visionary, Kaz is now looking to become a full fledged corporate head in his own right. He just don’t have the nuts to come out and say it. Money has always been the name of the game and knows his future is not in “gaming”… it’s in “real driving simulation”.

It was a nice run… but he won’t realize his dream as a Sony employee. Via con Dios mi amigo ;)

    2. biftizmo

infomas@I don’t think hes been a Sony employee..from the beginning…hes was to far out to handle..so they told him he should start his own company to make the best of it they gave him freedom…so he already made the money GT1…the rest was because he loves it…we can presume.

  18. kollosson

I don’t think PD have got anything to worry about on console, when GT6 is fully realised it will take some beating, I think its great now but that’s my opinion. I think once GT hits PS4 there wont be any competition, on console anyway. Remains to be seen what project cars brings to the table, in any case it won’t be on PS3. Can’t see anyone pushing the PS4 the way I think PD will. GT is still the king of racers in my eye’s.

    1. Johnnypenso

I’d rather they worked within the limits of the console instead of pushing it like they did in GT5/6 or we’ll end up with another dog’s breakfast like we have now.

  19. Mamaghi

it seems that the Data Logger works only for replays downloaded from seasonal event !!. is that the case for everyone ???

  20. StealthRocket

I have always loved the GT franchise but like many feel duped by GT6, the updates are nothing short of a bread crumb thrown off the scrap heap to keep us loyal fans at bay. Like most things you can only remain on top for so long and I am afraid GT with all it’s vacant promises and dubious marketing techniques have left me, like so many with an extremely sour taste in my mouth.

PD needs to watch out because Project Cars is on the way and I can say with first hand experience that many aspects of the new title are vastly superior to GT. It may not have a thousand cars, but it does have all the latest including single seaters. The tracks, weather system, modelling and physics are in many ways better, more realistic and far more entertaining than GT. Crash physics are just one small detail adding to the experience.

My interest in GT is waning fast after testing Planet Cars, I still hold out for the Senna update and course maker, but after all the let downs in recent years patience is fast running out!

PD needs to step up their game, as Project Cars is a very real and mighty challenger and it is just on the horizon! My advice to PD, start displaying the loyalty to your customers as they display to you, keep your word. If you don’t, it is very likely you will be dethroned as the king of simulators and very possible by the end of this year!

  21. iWanchek

I’d like to see the feature when I’m on for example on time trail and for choosing cars don’t need to go all back in the menu for choosing tracks and then the car.

    Implement the garage somehow/somewhere

  22. SaintSaiya

Off topic but isn’t anyone curious why the damage in gt5 in premium cars was better than the current premium cars in gt6? In gt5 bumpers and body panels of the cars were hanging and loose as they took damage im not saying it was good only slightly better.

    1. mr_pepps

I noticed this too. In GT5 PD wasn’t all about ‘adaptive tessellation’ whereas now they are.
In GT6 the cars use a different lighting technique to give the impression of damage – please correct me if I’m talking bobbins here – compared to actual flappy panels as you describe from GT5.

There was something hardcore about a Fezza 599 dragging its chin along the curcuit.

  23. infamousphil

Booooooooo!!! I don’t own a Toyota. And after all this time, we still cain’t paint the wings. What a rip-off! IMO… PD and Kaz has told me to f-off with each update.

6 is like the worst GT release ever!

Ok, now that I got that off my chest…

Isn’t it obvious they are turning GT into a poor mans’ simulator? Who remembers how affordable the Corvette was prior to the C4? If that’s the case, I’m afraid the days of sensible group racing is gone for good. We’ll need to be fortunate enough to reside in a chosen area and own specific whips to keep up with Kaz. Course Creator? Forget about it.

One more thing. Since PD couldn’t possibly sample every conceivable engine exhaust note, how about an equalizer, of sorts, so we can modify them our damn selves!?

  24. Mellow70

“The Traction Control System (TCS) which is activated when driving off-track is now used only in sand/gravel pits.”

Know what that means?, (For the drifters), now we can drift on roads like Tsukuba without any pavement restrictions like it was in GT5

Thanks PD for disabling that feature, one of the more needed fixes since release!

    1. drag lab 101

I’ve waited since day one for this to be adjusted. It will be a major improvement to the playability of the game.
This update doesn’t bring all of which I would’ve hoped it would, but that feature I feel is a major step in the right direction to making this game fun again.
I’m looking forward to what I believe will be a lot more support for GT6 once GT5 online is shut down.

  25. pondmatter

So I’m trying out the new update and the Toyota FT-1 Challenge. This game is a joke. All good things must come to an end at some point. That point was Gran Turismo 5.

  26. ONEEYEMONSTaR

GPS thingy logger for less than the at best 1000 registered GT6 users…gimmicks are a huge fail. Evolve the game.

“The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few”…Spock.

  27. mmdct

would be very interesting to see the data PD gets from the game showing how many people use which features and how many play which seasonal and compare to GT5. i’m new to the series (started with GT5) and so far GT5 was a richer experience. in this business, market data is critical to success and somebody must be analyzing it.

  28. celtiscorpion73

This is definitely a step in the right direction. I see a few things in this update that people have been asking for and it’s somewhat reassuring. Naturally, there will be gripes about certain things not being addressed, but we all need to remember that all the bugs and the game completion can’t be fixed in one update.
Of course, I definitely want more fixed now, but you can’t have everything!

  29. Bfc_1882

Still no online glitch fix when a car comes out of the pits and makes the game momentarily freeze. Surely this is a massive concern that should have been addressed about two month ago. I’ve hardly touched the game since the problem started apart from to do seasonal events. CMON PD!!!!! online bugs are getting embarrassing and many people are leaving your hand to gather dust. Who gives a flying f**k about “sports drive logger” maybe 0.0002% of your customers.

  30. GTHEAD87

Nothing really works for me apart from the spoliers. I do give my thanks for that :). I am looking forward to future updates, looks like they have passed the harder parts and will hopefully be putting more aero kits, VGT cars, track creator etc

  31. JayKayEm

Haha! Custom wings. I swear PD have an update tom-bola. Where was that on the wanted list?

Shouldn’t wings change your PP though?

Still, all updates gratefully received I guess.

  32. young car joc

CUSTOM WINGS!!!!!!!’bout time. All the things wrong that PD has done. This sort of makes up for it. Can’t wait to get home from work to update. Hopefully the diablo gt2 won’t be such a waste anymore

  33. WyldAniaml

I believe the new track creator will rely on GPS coords.
So it is a multi step process..
    First the Data Logger..
    Then the GPS Visualizer..
    Then the GPS track editor..
Then the GPS import to track creator.

Just have to get each piece one at a time..

3D will make a few happy.. I’ll have to give it a 2nd try..
was Okay in GT5, but I preferred Multi-Screen over 3D.

Yeah, I wish PD would work on the CORE first.. Fix what needs Fixing..
Then shell out the Bells and Whistles..
but I’ll take what they give us.. as we really have no choice….

Even with the few bugs, and missing elements, GT6 is still an Awesome drive.
as much as we want to hate it… we don’t!

In Hind sight. I’m glad it was released when it was, and not Delayed, Delayed, Delayed like it’s predecessor..

So yes, maybe we’ve been doing a bunch of beta testing so to speak, but hasn’t having the Game been better than not having it at all?

    1. SZRT Ice

I haven’t been playing, still not playing it, and wouldn’t have bought it (yet) if I knew I’d have to wait this long for the things they announced, and I expected them to implement by now.

    2. Streeto

I’m sorry, but to say that we can only make tracks with GPS data is ridiculous. It’s clearly not the case if you watched and listened to the GT6 presentations at pre-release events.

    3. WyldAniaml

Never said that GPS was the only way to make a track…
What I said was that the Custom Tracks will most likely be based on GPS data. Meaning that when you create a track, it will be saved as GPS coordinates.

By doing it that way, it will simplify the later Importing GPS data into a Track.

All track data will use the same format.

So it all has to be released in the proper pieces..

  34. SavageEvil

Just wondering if we are going to get the wind tunnel so we can match the rear wing to take advantage of the aerodynamics and rear wings position, height and width all factor in to how well or how useless your setup is. If the custom wings produce differing results then we can be certain that they are functional and not just for looks, hoping they add tire width adjustment as well since that would help out massively for many vehicles that have seriously poor traction especially on their skinny wheels. Time to do testing.

  35. zzz_pt

Where is the track that was promised to be released in February? Maybe February 2015? –‘ I’m tired of PD lies.

  36. kollosson

This was not even hinted to by PD so on top of the stuff we already know about the mind boggles as to what else may be lined up, can’t wait. : )

    1. Steph290

Um, yes it was. Way back in the May 2013 press conferences it was said that there would be thousands of different aerodynamic pieces implemented in the game. Just YouTube “GT6 Full Announcement Presentation” @ around 12:00. It is welcomed, but still nothing new here…

    2. SZRT Ice

From the GT6 tab @ gran-turismo.com since before GT6’s release:

      “Custom Parts

Purchase aerodynamic parts and over 82 types (with 188 variations) of wheels using in-game credits. More custom parts will also be added in future updates.”

  37. quade420

They have onece again failed to fix even one of the numerous issues with this game. I’m very close to giving up on this series all together. I was patient with the first few updates, but that patience is now gone.

    1. OpticZero

I’m not ready to give up on GT; but if something close comes along for the Playstation, I will gladly spend my money on that over GT.

    2. kiosk

I’m giving up, I avoided playing it as it is incomplete. With the way things are going I rather spend my energy doing something else, these updates are for the 1% of us who has the specific vehicle and the inclination to pad our egos by driving around on a track then taking home the results and plugging it into the PS3 so one can brag about how cool it is. – PD you can keep the 1% of fans, you just lost 1 of many.

  38. Ninners

No shuffle racing! Noooooooooo :/ but the rest seems ok but the GPS feature doesn’t concern me.

  39. BolgOfThe North

Thank God they’ve done something about the oversized standard rear wings, they just looked ridiculous, to be able to customize each element and the size is a fantastic addition. I just hope they’re working on bringing shuffle races back soon, GT online just isn’t the same without it.

  40. Humungus

Didn’t expect the custom wing option. Seems that PD is starting to add the really cool features.

  41. RHAtatouille

Guys, if you know how i miss GT2 cars list and GT4 tracks list …
Cita di aria with 6 or more cars…Seattle and the f… railroad … el capitan…
    I m gonna cry

    1. SZRT Ice

I feel your pain. Especially with Citta di Aria, Hong Kong, Midfield, El Capitan (better than Eiger), Seattle, Special Stage Route 11, and GT2-GT4’s epic Rally courses all missing. Kinda sucks that they haven’t brought these all back. I hope they do one day.

    2. OpticZero

Not including all previous GT tracks is a HUGE mistake by PD. Their decision makers all need to be fired.

    3. panjandrum

Agreed. This remains one of my biggest complaints about both GT5 and GT6. I REALLY want all those wonderful tracks back.

  42. ACRuser1

I actually quite like this update! The custom spoilers are awesome. It gives me hope for offset/width changes to wheels and tires.

    1. OriginalCheezIt

There actually is code in the game for wheel width changes. Obviously not implemented, but hackers did find a way to change the wheel width. Gives a little hope that PD puts it in later.

  43. AlexFFM1991

The GPS thing is for 99 % of the players uninteresting. I hoped the dataloger will work with online replays because the most of us want to analyze the online races and not offline practice but it doesn’t work… I can’t use my online record laps and that means the datalogger disappoints :( would be amazing if we could really use it… And the wing thing is a nice beginning of custom parts. What I hope is that pd will work and bring us in the future real tyres ( like Pirelli PZero Nero etc Dunlop sportmaxx gt and so on and different tyre size) I use the sportmaxx gt on 19′ 225/35 and 245/30 and I really wanna try how my bmw would feel with the Pzero’s ;) I think I’m not the only one…. Real springs manufacturer like HR etc. At the moment I’m still waiting for the (Smartphone) COURSE MAKER. It’s the feature wich all will use not like the datalogger wich doesn’t work with online replays and the visualizer wich nobody can use.

  44. Ben Rogue

The adjustable wing’s is a nice little feature for us with major OCD issues! When did the RA Menu (in race/on the fly TCS, ASM, ABS, etc options) come back, either I hadn’t noticed or its been added fairly recently, that makes setting up a car for a race much less tedious when I can do it as I drive! Yay!

    Can’t wait for some DLC!

    1. Tvensky

Please stop, any update is worth while… 3D support and GPS stuff is great thing to have for some..

meanwhile, I have a concern about regular updates PD promised us.. track creator, Sound update, Vision GT and other stuff is still missing, and most updates are only bug fixes.. (and that’s not worst case scenario)

Hope PD are working on GT7 full strength.. and thats why we have so late updates… if not we might not see GT7 on PS4 just as long as it was with PS3…

  45. kollosson

Had a quick look at the adjustable wing feature, quite a lot of options, I’m assuming that adjusting height and width affects downforce not to mention the aesthetics of your car which is cool, nice feature.

    1. SnakeOfBacon

I didn’t even think about downforce, I just gave a Toyota 86 a stupendously low and wide wing, looks nice but is probably useless.

  46. Quakebass

Now this “custom wing” thing… I’m finding that quite a bit attractive… The main things that kept me playing in GT5 were collecting, customizing (even with the very few options and irritating paint system we had), and building difficult tracks – mostly the last one.

See, I don’t have GT6 yet because in order to do so, I need to come by a new motherboard and hard drive, which is around a $80-100 expenditure, plus a good few hours of hard labor to replace parts… It isn’t worth the time, money, and effort just for a game I’ll get tired of real quick.

I don’t know why we still don’t have the Online/Community features or even a whiff of the course creator (or even that February content, for that matter…)… But considering that we’re starting to get some of the promised “future update” content, and a bit more hefty content to go along with it, I think the pace is starting to pick up, and we could potentially be seeing some pretty nice stuff (both promised and unexpected) in the next few months…

    …Let’s hope I’m not wrong.

  47. Davoxx

So again NOTHING in 1.06 , and more over there still a little bit of TCS off the track ( not 100% removed ) !!!!!!

  48. WingZeroCustom

Adjustable Wings eh? And FINALLY TCS only when off in gravel or sand. Good improvemtent. Thanks PD. Now All “I” ask for is two things. Just two…….. tire size adjustability and more FD cars.

But being able to adjust our tire sizes on cars like the 240SX, Mazda Miata and mostly SC300 and AE86 would be huge improvements. That what I would like next for customization.

  49. kollosson

Good stuff, PD must have all this stuff in the pipeline, planned, think we may get the new track very soon : )

  50. TokoTurismo

Meh, is all I gotta say. However, I do like the fact that in Open Lobby you get to select “Cruising, Show off your cars, Make friends and Cafe'” in Race Type now. :)

But still, a meh update. :\

  51. ZedMan1996

This is super cool! Haha its obvious PD are now hiding the best parts right until its released!

    ~Loving the wing customization!

Very variable and adds more personality to your cars :)

    Thank you PD!

Yaaaay! IMO, This is a decent update. After the Heat/Nix replay is done I will try out what I can. Ill start with the 3D and the wings.

Looking forward to the GPS feature. Should be educational. :)
The wing feature hopefully isn’t a way to compete with NFS titles…not necessary.

Glad to see some community features and some DLC parts features start to trickle in… I guess PD ARE going with the silent “ninja-updates” in regards to GT6, and not announcing things as they come.

Custom rear wing?! Ohh wow! I wish we had that earlier!

*Clock moves back by 5 minutes*

    Now for deep dish rims!

    1. SZRT Ice

“Flush” rims are level with the surface of the tire.

“Deep Dish” Rims are basically when the rim surface that are concaved/pushed-in 1-3 inches from the lip of the rim.

Well I’m happy about the 3D I guess but only use it im cockpit view which I’m willing to bet is still muffed. Wing options might be cool.

The TCS revision is good though.

indeed, i got better 3D from my 3D Bee external box than the in-game system. trouble is, instead of coding 3D into the game PD just use a software plug-in to process the final graphics output resulting in the insane ghosting etc with bright objects as the software thinks they are closer to you than everything else.

I do not have any of the stereoscopic rendering problems that mobilestone reports. Both GT5 and GT6 render 3D perfectly on my system, with everything being in the proper focal plane and zero ghosting even with depth set to maximum. However there is a HUGE quality difference between GT5 and GT6! Whereas Gt5 appeared to render in full 720p 3D mode, GT6 looks to be rendering at a MUCH lower resolution and the upscaling to 720p. The results are not good in terms of overall image quality.

Gahh that’s a nice Photomode image. It reminds me of GT3’s Smokey Mountain North.

The wings are a nice touch. Apart from that, with these features released, future updates could be exciting from now on.

Optimism, yay! I’m glad someone else is thinking that way, now that all of the silly stuff is out of the way, the next updates will be more likely to bring the things we were looking forward to.
