PlayStation VR Video Demonstrates ‘Vista’-Style Mode For GT Sport

Virtual reality has become one of the more promising aspects for the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport, and the above video, uploaded to PlayStation Japan’s YouTube page, appears to indicate that there may be more to the game’s use of the feature, courtesy of the previously confirmed “VR Tour Mode”.

At the 1:42 mark, the video demonstrates a very “Forzavista”-esque showcase mode, looking over into the passenger seat and down into the passenger’s footwell. While this feature hasn’t been officially confirmed, it raises plenty of interesting questions. The Gran Turismo franchise is no stranger to presenting itself as a virtual automotive library, and what better way to take that to the next level than to let players look around and inspect the in-game models?

A more interesting question is whether or not this mode is one of the yet-to-be-revealed ‘cutting edge’ features that was discussed on the PlayStation Blog shortly after the announcement of the game’s delay last year. Equally as interesting is whether or not the feature will play a role in being able to take pictures while sitting behind the wheel.

Again, nothing has been confirmed by Polyphony Digital themselves, but the video does offer a bit of solace as we continue to wait for the eventual release of Gran Turismo Sport, currently expected to release some time this year.
