GT6 Sales Total 4.71 Million, Franchise Over 76 Million Units

A complete redesign of Polyphony Digital’s website went live earlier today, and with it, the company has updated us on the subject of sales for the second time in 2015. During GT Sport’s first unveiling in Paris, PD had snuck a quick mention of a rough series total into the game’s website. Over 75 million units had been sold as of March 2015, while today’s newer tallies come from September of this year.

Gran Turismo Series Tops 68 Million Copies Sold

As the Gran Turismo series approaches its 15th anniversary on December 23, 2012, Polyphony Digital has quietly updated their sales statistics, revealing over 68 million copies of the games have been sold worldwide and correcting the previous, smaller sum first reported in early November.

Gran Turismo Series Tops 63 Million Sold, GT5 6.3 Million

Polyphony Digital has finally updated their official software title list to include GT5, and the numbers are even higher than previously reported. As of December 2010, the game has now sold/shipped more than 6.37 million copies around the world, pushing totals for the series past 63 million.

GT5 U.S. Sales Update: 560,500 Copies in December

GT5 was off to a great start last month, selling over 5.5 million copies worldwide in just two weeks. Now, we’re able to catch a glimpse of the game’s performance in the United States thanks to fresh numbers from the NPD Group: 560,500 copies were sold in the U.S. throughout December.

5.5 Million Copies of GT5 Sold, Series Tops 60 Million

In a new press release, Sony Computer Entertainment has announced the official sales data for Gran Turismo 5. As of December 6, 2010, GT5 sales exceeded 5.5 million units worldwide – or 423,000 copies sold per day for 13 days. That’s half a million more copies than what GT5: Prologue managed to sell in nearly two and a half years, and more than double what Gran Turismo PSP has sold since last October. GT5 is also now halfway along to GT1, GT2, and GT4’s total sales (approximately 10 million per title), but still has a ways to go to match GT3’s 14.8 million.

GT5 Sales Rank Increases 1300% on Amazon After Release Date Announcement

As observed by PlayStation LifeStyle, Gran Turismo 5 suddenly became very popular after the game’s official release date announcement last Friday. Within 24 hours, the standard version of the game topped Amazon.com’s video game “Movers & Shakers” list with a 1,300% increase in sales rank. The more expensive GT5 Collector’s Edition came second on the list, with an 823% increase, followed by the 160GB PlayStation 3 console with a 236% increase. Impressive numbers, to say the least!

555,000 Copies of GT5 for France, New Launch Party Date

I don’t have any specific updates about the GT5 disc revealed yesterday, but that hasn’t stopped quite a few interesting tidbits from bubbling up around the world. First up, word from “distribution sources” indicate more than half a million copies of Gran Turismo 5 are headed to France. More specifically, there will be 450,000 standard copies, 100,000 Collector’s Editions, and 5,000 Signature Editions available in the country. (Amazon.fr is still taking SE reservations, so hop on that if you’re interested.)
