With the way this game is going you’ll be seeing a third GT academy before you see this game released.

I’m glad that there are some decent games being released this year to fill the void, but this game is well beyond a joke now. There’s a difference between building hype and just annoying people. We’re all at the stage now where even if we were given a release date we wouldn’t believe it until we saw the game sitting on the shelf; such is the lack of credibility that anything Sony or PD says now.

“Alright, I wish Polyphony would’ve done this stupid thing AFTER GT5 was released.
Polyphony can be concentrating more on GT5 itself if only this GT Academy thing wasn’t in the way.
and I’m pretty sure no1 really gives a crap about these people other than themselves/families.”

Yeah…I know, it was the graphic designers and the engineers and boffins at Polyphony that went to the racetrack to get everything ready. This wasn’t done by PD, it has nothing to do with GT5’s development, stop whyning.

    Typical response from a ‘thug’.

    You go, tough guy.

Congrats to all the participants, those were some tough challenges to compete in.

Yeah, he just let his fanboi mentality get the best of him… this is not a console war site, its a GT enthusiast site… so there

BTW he owned himself for overreacting

Lachal, I own a ps3 and only a ps3. Its an observation about Alan Wake and the 360 community.. GT had 1 release date in japan, and japan only. Again, stop crying. Good stuff takes a while.

6 years is an eternity for sony fans. While for others, its just perfectly fine. Sure its not as anticipated, but its not like its outside of the norm for Polyphony who took 5-6 years to make GT due to making a new engine.

Now they are making a new engine, making portable version of the game, running it in 1080p, having 1000 detailed vehicles, adding 3d, adding damage, adding an online system for the real first time..and god knows what else since PD usually overdelivers for the content of their GT games.

    And you’re crying.

Finding it hard to get excited about the endless GT Academy stuff anymore. At this point, it has little more to do with Gran Turismo than decals on cars driven by gamers. Basically a big SCEE commercial advertising to Europeans and a couple of Her Majesty’s (former) territories, but I guess if it keeps you guys entertained…

Nice, and thanks for the videos. I enjoy watching them. I am hopeful that the US gets to compete in these for the next GT Academy.

Also, it seems there has been some moderating in the comment section. Thanks for doing so.

Awesome videos. One questions though, how was it that they chose Jordan (French) over Luca (Italian)??!! It doesn’t show in the clips.

PS. looks like Saben really fancied the French contestant, Jordan lol

CanAm1968 – Let’s hope, the “Ring in all it’s GT5 splendor” includes lots of spectators and tents around the track, always missed that.

After watching all 5 videos, I have to say bravo. Great job to everyone there. Especially to GTP_DHolland for being one of our own GTPlanet users. I would have absolutely loved to been a part of that but it’s clear, there are some folks with some real skill.

    Once again, congrats to all.

  16. CanAm1968

Wow, after watching these movie clips, I have a much better understanding of the challenges each racer faced. I feel confident with the judges decision they chose the 2 best drivers based on the criteria they set. I wished I wouldve had a chance to join them and fight to be the chosen two, but I was not only eliminated geographically, but also physically as well.

I am over 40 years old and dont have the stamina of the young “whippersnappers” of this contest. So now the best I can hope for is to go ahead and release the game soon so I could challenge them over the internet, ha! I am ready to take on the ‘Ring in all of its GT5 splendor!!!!

Ferhound, Decent Games take time. Alan Wake has taken 6 years, yet 360 fans aren’t crying every damned minute. Whats with Playstation girls?
