Gran Turismo 5 DLC Releases in North America Today [UPDATE]
Though there’s still been no explanation from Sony regarding the delay of Gran Turismo 5‘s first batch of DLC in North America, its release date of October 25th is finally here. The exact time the new content will become available in the PlayStation Store is not known, though it will likely be in the afternoon, Eastern Time (Edit: Confirmed as 14.00PST through Twitter).
As you’ve probably heard by now, the new content includes two new tracks (most notably, Spa Francorchamps), 15 new cars, 100 new paint colors, and new suits and helmets. Each pack can be purchased separately or together in one bundle for $11.99.

*** UPDATE ***
Though the content has been officially released, as you’ve probably seen in the comments below and in our forums, there is a problem with the North American GT5 DLC packs. Though you can complete the purchase from the PlayStation Store, the content itself does not actually appear in the game.
If it’s any consolation, everyone is currently experiencing this issue, so it’s best to just sit tight until SCEA can correct the problem. As always, stay tuned to GTPlanet’s blog and forums as this story develops.

The North American DLC installation issues appear to have been resolved. Be sure to click the round “DLC” icon in GT5‘s main menu after purchasing the content to activate it. As mentioned, read our DLC FAQ for more help.

I’ve got the same problem as you. Called Sony and they cannot resolve it either. It appears to be a problem if you have your system and disk from different regions. My PS3 is region 1 and my disk was brought back from Hongkong (region 3). So I borrowed my friend’s region 1 disk and those content start to show up. The only problem is it won’t allow me load the saved progress from my other install. I am not going to start from scratch again. Those stupid restrictions. Looks like our hard earned $12 just got wasted!

but I got the ps3 and gt5 all in canada, I even start a new canada psn account just for this the DLC this time. I don’t why all my stuffs are form the same region, it still not work. by the way I have got in touch with sony, they said they need more time, and If the DLC still no work for me then they will try to refund the money back to my psn wallet.

Mine eventually showed up. It took somewhere around 5 hours for that to happen, but in the end everything worked properly.

My little girls like to “play dress-up” with my cars so they much appreciated the two hott pink and purple flourescent colors. I (we) are now the proud owner of a hot pink Nissan March. They were screaming that high pitched girl scream like it was a Disney Princess birthday party or something. Thanks PD! I think… :)

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU KAZ! The DLC is much appreciated. The cars are awesome, the detail on the cars is awesome , thanks for letting us change the wheels and colors on the new cars too!In photo mode the new cars look stunning! Spa is SPECTACULAR! The karting track is cool, fun and different. This first batch of DLC is great! Looking forward to other DLC packs… please think about for the future packs maybe giving us exotic cars, or legendary race cars, etc. Even iconic race cars such as the Speed Source Mazda RX-8 that won the famed 24 hour Rolex race not once, but twice! A great victory to all Mazda fans and brand since the 787B won Le mans.
Also consider adding the classic tracks or even some famed race circuits like Bathhurst , Silverstone, Sebring. Whatever you do we the true GT fans wilkl support and appreciate your hard working efforts! Been here since the first Gt and will be there till you say your done! Thanks KAZ!!!!

I bought it twice and thirty cars showed up. Two of each , I am going to keep. Tune 1 and keep one stock. Anyone else have this happen?

nope, i was smart and waited a few hours after the DLC just came out, so 8:45 or so, then purchased the pack, went the GT main page, clicked the DLC button, and everything was there

I purchased it and it gave me a stealth nsx and theme but nothing else then a while later the option came up in the DLC icon in gt5 to install what I actually paid for. Thank goodness for that I didn’t want to pay twice.

People were going to the DLC button. The problem was, there was nothing there. Even after purchasing it from the PSN Store. For at least an hour, people were purchasing the content and getting nothing.

****************people who did not get their DLC, should do a PS3 SYSTEM ACTIVATION under Account Management, after doing different things to get the DLC the system activation worked for me. so try it. P.S. i made a separet thread because i wanted people to see this quick solution to the problem.***************

It took mine nearly an hour from time of purchase until it showed up in the DLC button inside the game. If there was going to be a delay they should of said so ahead of time.

Everyone gets the same color cars. :( And the GT-R 35, can’t change the number on it.
And if you bought the DLC early and have plus, call Sony, they will give you a $3 credit to your wallet.

I know a bunch of us bought the DLC real early (when they were apparently having tons of problems) and later folks started getting their DLC but, I’m trying to find out if most of those early guys (like me) did finally get their DLC or if many others (like me) are still without! I keep thinking that it’s going to be available ‘this time’ when I go in there but unfortunately, I keep trying (and turning the system completely off and back on) and nothing changes. I got the NSX Blk Racer and no more.
Come on Sony! Am I going to have to call these turkeys? -

i bought the DLC at 5:00CST and then i checked Service List the course car suit paint packs are all there but when i checked the Download List no course car suit paint pack which i bought. and then i check the main GT5 menu Downloaded Content says “No Content Purchased”. and i keep turning on and off the ps3 to see if the damn DLC is there but no DLC so far. called the 1800 number they said that they are looking into it may take up to 7 days to fix. WOW i just hope they give it to me by tonight or i’ll be pissed. going to call them tomorrow if i don’t get it tonight.
