It’s the ninth week of our regular Track Of The Week article, and we’re changing gears. The last three circuits have been replicas of various world-famous venues (Road America, Serres Circuit, and, most recently, Portimao), while we’ve only had two fantasy tracks since the feature began nearly two months ago. The third to step into the spotlight is Melder’s Brook.
The final WRS championship of 2015 is about to hit its mid-way point, with the third of five races starting today. Above, you can catch the live stream (care of staff member and racer @PASM), kicking off at 20:00 GMT/UTC.
Here we are in December, days away from the two year anniversary of GT6, for the eighth iteration of GTPlanet’s Track Of The Week. It’s another real-world replica this week, as we travel to Portugal’s Algarve International Circuit (commonly referred to as simply Portimao).
A new batch of seasonal events are now available in Gran Turismo 6 showcasing this week’s super lap and drift trial challenges. The events feature classic European cars representative of the ‘golden age’ of motoring, race cars, 4WD non-race cars, and Japanese racing machines proving their worth.
GT6 players were met with a short Maintenance period earlier this week, after which the game moved up to v1.22. Barely tipping the scale at 35 MB, the update fixes a known exploit in Career Mode, where previously-suspended Championships could be restarted on a User-Created Course.
GT6 has remained untouched since the long-awaited Course Maker was introduced to the game in Update 1.21, and now has announced a short maintenance period for next week.
The last WRS Championship of 2015 is about to get underway. Mentioned earlier this week, the event will be running breathed-upon GT500 cars, hovering around the 600 PP mark, with the first race taking place at Suzuka.
A new batch of seasonal events are now available in Gran Turismo 6 showcasing this week’s beginner, intermediate, and expert level challenges. The events feature non-race cars and race cars dancing a fine line between outright power and superior balance.
The staff here at GTPlanet have plucked another ribbon from the hundreds currently available in our GT6 Track Database. In our last installment, we covered La Tour Eifel, a rolling fantasy track crafted by one of our own. This week, we’re heading back to the realm of replicas.
As GT6’s two year anniversary approaches, our community has hit a slightly shorter milestone of its own. GTPlanet’s weekly Photomode competitions are now in the triple digits, a number that deserves celebration. Like all good celebrations, prizes are up for grabs too, with two Premium memberships available.
Welcome again to GTPlanet’s GT6 Track of the Week, where we highlight impressive creations from within the community. After the tight, tricky Zandvoort replica from Week 4, we’re moving back to the realm of fantasy circuits.
UPDATE: The “Fugu Z” was scanned by the Polyphony Digital team on November 7, 2017 in Long Beach, CA. It was finally added to Gran Turismo Sport in the game’s 1.31 update, released on December 5, 2018.
It’s that time again! In between Jordan’s coverage of SEMA – take a look at the finalists if you haven’t yet, before a winner is crowned – we’re delivering another selection hand-picked by the GTPlanet staff from our constantly-growing GT6 Track Database.
A new batch of seasonal events are now available in Gran Turismo 6 showcasing this week’s super lap and drift trial challenges. The events feature race cars from 1980’s and onward, non-race cars, pre-1970 non-race cars, and rally machines that have competed in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. This week’s challenges are as follows, and remember to stop by our GT6 Seasonal Events forum for in-depth analysis and discussion, tips and tricks, and much more.
While the 44th Tokyo Motor Show brought us plenty of interesting Gran Turismo news – a slightly modified version of Nissan’s Vision GT car made its debut, while Toyota’s new S-FR small sports car was playable – one thing that may have flown under some radars was Polyphony’s newest motion simulator rig, which was set up specifically for taking the little Toyota for a spin in a special limited edition of GT6.
