GTPlanet’s GT6 Track Of The Week: Serres Circuit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRkv9Qq_A4E

serres-mapWelcome to another installment of GTPGT6TOTW – try saying that with a mouth full of turkey! While the holiday weekend is just kicking into gear for our US readers, we’re traveling across the globe to Greece, for an incredibly accurate replica of the Serres circuit.

The second track in our GT6 Track Database to cross the 1000 download mark (the first being previously-featured Sebring Internation Raceway), Serres Circuit comes to us from user @sdkflu. First suggested by moderator @PASM, Serres quickly became a shoe-in for selection, not only for the high number of downloads, but also the care put into recreating the track as accurately as possible. Rumble strips line up, trackside details are similar, and the curves all match the real radii. sdkflu has provided the video above which, despite very slight acceleration differences between the two cars, shows the stunning accuracy of his creation.

For more circuits to download, visit our GT6 Track Database, where you can browse by the most-downloaded or highest-rated. You can also stop by our GT6 Course Maker forum for more discussion and tips on how to get the most out of the Track Path Editor app.

Note that all of our weekly staff picks will be selected from the database, so be sure to add any of your custom tracks for consideration right here.

That video was amazing! Loved the sound that car (S2000 – Amuse GT1?) made as it hustled through Serres. Anyone note how close the GT6 replay sounded to the actual video? Simply AMAZING

    ARRRRRRRRR, BRARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, BRARRRRRRRRRRRRR, … BROOOMMMM, BROOOMMM… ;)

Never thought i would see a track of my country on gt 6 track of the week.We don’t have many.
    Great work sdkflu.

A great track resembling almost perfectly the real life’s one. Only problem is that due to the asphalt’s quality back then (-2014), laptimes compared to some cars tested back then are too fast and you need to put lower grip tires in GT6 to match the grip this track had at the time they tested those cars (http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/serres-racing-circuit). Some say track has become around 2 secs per lap faster now.

Congratulations to the creator and to PD for letting us bring many real tracks into GT6 with the track editor.

I kind of wish i had never played project cars… Cuz now GT6 physics don’t really feel as great anymore lol. Maybe i’ll give it a stab on this track again see how i feel.

Honestly, project CARS’s physics feels like Shift 2’s with some major fixes (that’s why I call it shift 3)… I don’t want to sound like a GT fanboy kid, I’m just saying.

girabyt3 … I haven’t tried the P.Cars game… but if you feel GT6 is good.. just try out the Ferrari’s…. that’ll put your spirit down :-/

Thank you for your presentation, this is perhaps the greatest track in the reality in the countries of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans, beyond the same country of track that is the Greece, and in reality have a amazing layout, very very enjoyable… many people will be happy that located in popular GT6 and will be a nice tool for learning the lines of the track, especially on cold days and winter nights (sorry for my bad english).
