Sorry dude, this thread moves so fast that sometimes a post gets lost. Maybe this could help you in some way. This really does work. Reduce the number of cars being "drawn" by the game. It can seriously help. I went down to 14 i think, cause you never really see more than than. Read my post here, and the ones i quoted in my quoted post:

Hi I just finally updated to 1.56 csp just to try this.
It's great, really amazing thing to have access to and yet something else i am amazed didn't get put into the actual game release.

Quick question though, do you have any idea what the 'default' kunos settings are?
Obviously we can add them, but there seems to be no idea of what kunos went with on this.
Would be really cool to know as a guide.

Or did kunos not even have any base settings for this?

316 Km/h wwith the BMW i8. Stock. :)

Funny I thought the i8 was limited to 250Kph so I guess this is not totally stock;)

Oh shoot. Thanks for the heads up Masscot. The security on that file was restricted for some reason. Perhaps they are changing the default setting or I just messed up when I copied the link. Try this one:

I'll update the original post.

Yes, google drive forced the default to be restricted so yet another button to check before being able to share a link from there.

Hi guys, I was bored at one point, and thought I would do somewhat sorting out for the UI of the tracks. Then I stumbled upon some tracks from Gran Turismo and I always felt they are missing their own country PD in the list.
So I made a flag especially for those tracks, first it was just only for me. But I thought I would share it because why not.
View attachment 908062 View attachment 908063
This flag is based on the one from Gran Turismo 6 (can be seen here)
The bigger flag must be put in "/AcTools Content Manager/Data (User)/Country Flags (Large)" while the smaller flag is to be put in ".../Country Flags"
The both json files have to be put in "/Data (User)/Miscellanous"
If you have added other flags like the Mushroom Kingdom, just add a new line in both files:
Country.json -> "Polyphony Digital"
CountryIds.json -> "PD": "Polyphony Digital"

Going back in time but this doesn't seem to work (for me, once again...). Followed your guide step by step and no PD country appears. Ah well.

Aye, three times. No luck.

Damn, I know when I tried to replace country flags I had troubles but I'm sure a reset fixed it for me.

I'm sure there's something you have to do to get the flags to change but I can't remember what it is - hang on I'll try it out with that one and see what happens. Gimme 5 minutes

Yes it's quite a useful feature, rf2 has it and Kunos put it in ACC. About the default values, I don't know. I would imagine the default values before editing could be kunos ones, but can't be sure:

[VISIBLE_CARS]
; hidden
; four values are for: LOD A, simplified render without some extra bits, LOD C and LOD D

MAIN=3, 8, 16, 28
GBUFFER=3, 8, 16, 16
SHADOWS=3, 6, 6, 16
SPECTATING_MAIN=6, 20, 40, 200
SPECTATING_GBUFFER=3, 12, 24, 24
SPECTATING_SHADOWS=3, 12, 12, 24
MIRROR=2, 4, 8, 12

In spectator mode the value is 200, so all of them at all times.

For reference for people who didn't try this yer and wonder what fps gains are possible. While in replay it is easy to switch between spectator and driving cam, so we can easily see the difference in real time. With my settings I get 55-60 fps while driving and 30-40 while spectating. Before the difference was max 10 fps, usually 5, so 40-45. .it is quite a gain if you don't have a strong pc. And what is the most useful thing, fps count is stable all the time while driving, as no matter how many cars are in front of you, only the set amount is shown.

Thanks. Here's a quick billboard hack to get rid of all that godawful manga plop dotted around the track. I had to drop in some late-night rough-as-guts textures in a couple of places because the godawful manga plop had actually stolen building facades, so without them there would just be holes in the building.
There's probably a better way of doing this with a HIDE config, but whatever.
Just drop the unzipped skins folder into the track folder and select the 'Death To Manga' skin.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/cidugm6g2wxb5il/skins.7z/file

And to whoever put all of that godawful manga plop there in the first place: STOP MASTURBATING TO MANGA. CHANGE YOUR SHEETS. GET SOME SUNLIGHT. LEAVE YOUR APARTMENT. TALK TO REAL PEOPLE.

Thanks for this, @Masscot, the anime walls were the last things on this track that were triggering my OCD. (actually the trees still do a little) Installing now.

EDIT: LOL, the skin name, man. Made me chuckle.

Yep, for some reason i didn't have the kunos defaults like that.
I tried it first before i realised i needed to be on 1.56 or higher CSP, so once i updated i had already my ones i'd added...

So thanks for the defaults, i can work from those and nip a few bits here and there to get a bit more AI in the race.

The biggest issue has always been that the race is fine with max AI, but the replays are choppy so i'll see what i can do. 👍

This is the only Lydden I have, guys. It was from that batch I bought from AC Classics a few weeks (months?) ago. I marked it as a 'looks.4' so this version wasn't super bad. I didn't grab the one posted earlier though to compare.

Halle Saale Schleife

halle
Author: Gilles75
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/halle-saale-schleife-east-germany-1-1.17183/
The lighting is harsh and bright, everything is washed out. There are elements just floating in the air like street lights with no pole. I was disappointed when there was no rumble when I drove in the cobblestone section. Performance was also terrible.

Folder Name: halle_saale_schleife
Author: Terra21
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dq194nfq6btyu44/halle_saale_schleife.rar
This is a higher effort conversion of the same rFactor source track. The lighting is much better and the floating objects are now suspended on wires instead of just floating, but it still doesn't look very nice. Still, if you're looking for the best version of the track, this one is it.

Hanoi
Folder Name:
hanoi
Author: nothke
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hanoi-street-circuit-vietnam-gp-2020.23990/
This is a very basic track with no scenery at all. It's a work in progress, with no map or even a preview picture. The road surface is nice, and it's a pretty good start, but there are better options.

Folder Name: hanoi
Author: Niklas1409
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hanoi-track-new-layout.32136/
I am not certain but I think this is either the same guy with a different account on racedepartment or it's a rework of the nothke version. Scenery has been added along with DRS zones. The scenery is mostly generic Race Track Builder assets but it's better than the empty void that the first one was in. Performance is good too. This is probably the version to get.

Folder Name: hanoi_street_circuit
Author: shin956
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hanoi-street-circuit.32281/
This is a conversion of an rFactor track and while it's got the most scenery of any of the hanoi tracks, it just looks old. It's not terrible, it's just not as good as the niklas1409 one.

Hidden Valley Raceway
Folder Name:
fvr_hidden_valley
Author: FVR
Download: available to FVR members only
The trees look like they come from an alien world, the grass is really ugly, the tire walls are all flat with a badly flat tirewall texture applied, there are holes all over the place, and the colors and lighting are all washed out. Not worth the time to download.

Folder Name: hidden_valley_raceway
Author: Rainmaker & Joshuax
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/h6qa7878tif3msa/hidden_valley_raceway.rar/file
This one is much better. Everything looks detailed and realistic except the grass which looks like it's just a google satellite view texture so it's very blurry and ugly. I have no idea who made this version. There is a skin available at https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/darwin-triple-crown-2019.31604/ by pepperoni ac24 that fixes the grass and a lot of visual oddities. This is definitely the version to get

Folder Name: hiddenvalley2015
Author: ACF
Download: https://sharemods.com/bpbi19nmcrmu/hiddenvalley2015.7z.html
This one is pretty bad. Floating trees, helicopters and birds that are frozen in mid-air, ugly bright white sand, ugly trees, many walls without collision. It's not great.

High Speed Ring
Folder Name:
hs
Author: ACF?
Download: https://sharemods.com/r34bwjto0an8/HS.7z.html
This one looks a bit bright, and some of the trackside objects look a bit old, like the lights, but overall, really fun and captures the feel of the original. Kerbs don't seem to be marked as kerbs so there's no sound or rumble.

Folder Name: HSRForward
Author: ACF
Download: https://sharemods.com/ypi60d5ltq2g/HSRForward.7z.html
Despite the folder name of this track it's actually got forward and reverse layouts. The track has a huge mountain horizon that is really out of place and it also cuts off abruptly in the middle of a mountain leaving a huge gap. It definitely looks like a mistake. The kerbs make a sound but don't seem to have any rumble to them on this version.

Folder Name: acf_hsrforward
Author: ACF
Download: https://mega.nz/folder/d8RmGIDa#eNn1zMIK-Y9gAukU5zxsvg
This gets rid of the bad skybox and adds CSP lighting and further cleans things up. This is the definitive version. (aside from the original in the GT games anyway)

Historic Hockenheim
Folder Name:
hockenheim_historic
Author: Terra21
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/gt9rqbwvqtqfa6x/hockenheim_historic.rar
This track has repetitive trees and really washed out lighting in general. The grandstands have a weird issue where the people in the seats pop in with VR. It's pretty annoying. There are better versions of this track available.

Folder Name: hockenheim_1988
Author: zwiss
Download: https://sharemods.com/52clmwnk6fuu/hockenheim_1988.7z.html
This is a rework of Terra21's track. The trees look better, It's color corrected so it doesn't look washed out, and it performs better. The crowd pop-in is still there. This might be an issue with my machine. Overall it's better than the Terra21 version

Folder Name: hockenheimring1988
Author: Team Schwarzbierbude.de
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/zgjael13xa8oh76/Hockenheimring+1988+v1.43+by+SBB+project.7z
This version of the track is the best looking of the bunch. It doesn't have the issues with the crowd that the other ones have and the trackside objects are all a bit more detailed. Barriers and cones can be knocked around, and overall it looks like a lot of care and work went into this. This one is my pick for 80s hockenheim.

Folder Name: hockenheim_old
Author: f1ligue
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hockenheim_old.2466/
So this one is basic and with a version number of 0.6 not finished. There's lots of floating trackside objects, the colors are washed out, the textures are blurry, but it's one saving grace is that the trees look better than any of the other "with chicane" versions. This can easily be skipped.

Folder Name: hockegp_f3ct
Author: Sergio Loro
Download: Free at https://sellfy.com/f3classictracks/p/fqKN/
I wouldn't normally include this here since it's technically a different layout (no chicane) but I just wanted to highlight this track to anyone that doesn't know about it, it's absolutely beautiful and you should definitely get it.

t78_hockenheimring
Author: tommy78

This is an excellent version of the modern hockenheim. I wish the lighting was toned down a little, the signs are really washed out, but the rest of the surroundings look ok. It's got 3d grass, good trees, and nice detailed surroundings. It also has 2 short layouts and the national layout.

Folder Name: hockenheim_2018
Author: Patrikpat
Download: https://mega.nz/#!ZVJQyAhL!RPLYGL2xZjVvu0gOPlsX-ntfoZQgp6Ae_ZewfJz24Fc
This version is a codemasters conversion and it is definitely the best modern hockenheim GP track in the looks department. It feels pretty good too on the racing surface. Unfortunately it doesn't have any of the alternate layouts. I keep this one for GP, and t78 for the other layouts. I'd love for someone with more talent than me to add the other variants to this one, but it being a codemasters conversion that might be a tough ask.

This is exactly what you expect from these aa_ oval tracks. An excellent rendition of this track with decent AI. The lights at night look a little bright, but that's about all I can say about this one.

Folder Name: homestead
Author: Legion
Download:
This is a rework of the above Homestead track and it's a nice coat of polish on an already good track. It changes some textures around and adds the road course. This is the one to get.

Hungaroring
Folder Name:
hungaroring
Author: Tiago Lima
Download: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/hungaroring.2577/
Here we have another conversion of an older track. There are a few graphical artifacts here and there, and the colors are pretty washed out and it's overall pretty unpolished. The driving experience on the track is fine aside from a lack of DRS zones.

Folder Name: acu_hungaroring
Author: ACU
Download: http://adf.ly/246619/http://www.mediafire.com/download/18v3ip1w5xnddcr/ac_hungaroring_v.1.0.rar
Yet another codemasters conversion. As expected, its very detailed all around and it's the one to get. It does have DRS zones and skins available to update it's look with new sponsor banners. Definitely grab this one.

The track-side objects in this version seem pretty sparse and the colors are a bit washed out. The track surface feels really good, but the AI (at least in the formula americas 2020) doesn't know how to drive on the oval, they keep hitting the wall after turn 1.

Folder Name: indianapolis_sp
Author: Legion

This version is a masterpiece. Beautiful surroundings, good performance, good AI (even on the oval). Everything is great about it. It also includes the Moto GP layout. The grass looks fantastic and everything looks color corrected. This version is the standout, and in my opinion, the best version if Indianapolis available.

Folder Name: indianapolis_2013
Author: ?
Download: https://sharemods.com/4dnwzfymiuhc/indianapolis_2013.7z.html
This one looks pretty good, but some of the trackside objects lack detail and the colors are a bit muted. Oval AI is a bit too conservative, I was able to lap about half of the field in only 10 laps. This also includes the motoGP layout (referred to as GP) but not the regular f1/grand prix of indianapolis layout. If anyone knows who made this I'd appreciate the info!

Folder Name: indi, indigp, indifield, indif1
Author: ExeQt0r
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/8vzkasc0bmibg1u/indianapolis+pack.7z
This one has less detail than the others, and the AI is pretty bad. Not only are they trying to drive through walls, but they are also all over the place unpredictably. They were still really slow so easy to lap the field in 10 laps. With some more attention this track could be good. This version includes 4 layouts. The oval, the motoGP, the GP, and a special infield layout i've never seen anywhere else.

Folder Name: aa_Brickyard

Download: https://mega.nz/file/9rQWmKqQ#MNK2AY4LF5Qy26NeimG2owgXcaJRtNjMFXMIP9_ETQY
This is another one from the NASCAR facebook group and only includes the oval layout. It looks pretty nice with only a few objects lacking detail and has really good oval AI. If Legion's didn't exist and all you wanted was the oval this would be the one to get.

Interlagos

This is another Codemasters conversion. Very detailed. Looks great, drives great. Not much to say at this point. Another bang up job by ACU converting this.

Folder Name: interlagos
Author: Malagoli
Download: https://malagoligarage.wordpress.com/2015/03/17/interlagos-beta-v-14-mar-2015/
Despite how technically good the ACU/patrikpat versions are, I just really like this one more. It's a historic theme here, but the track layout is the same. It just has so much more character than the other versions which seem really sterile. You can see the care that went into this track and it's just fantastic. Maybe if you need to race on a modern looking interlagos get the 2018 one, but otherwise, this is the way to go right here.

Folder Name: acu_interlagos_2018
Author: patrikpat
Download: https://mega.nz/#!8RQXla5D!BczYOgLfYX-KnzOW7zdgg-I0xSe42bE4ND6_Eplm_QI
This is a rework of the ACU version above and it definitely looks and drives great. Definitely the best modern Interlagos.

Folder Name: interlagos
Author: f1ligue
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/interlagos.2445/
This one looks like a PS1 game in spots. It's overexposed and it's an old, bad conversion of a track from an older game. Not really worth the download nowadays.

Isle of Man
Folder Name:
isle_of_man
Author: Rainmaker
Download: https://assettocorsa.club/index.php?q=mods/tracks/isle-of-man.html
I understand why this track is the way it is, it's huge, it's converted from another older game, and it's optimized for speed rather than eye candy. It's unfortunately just really ugly and riddled with issues. It has a really low poly road mesh so the elevation transitions are really harsh, and the textures are just very old. The hedges at the side of the road are really harsh and the low quality spectators being so close to the track makes it easy be distracted by how bad they look. It's just not great. Then there are the holes that you can fall through if you get too close to a wall. When this track works it works and it's fun and it's easy to get past it's shortcomings, but those parts are few and far between here.

Folder Name: the_isle_of_man_tt
Author: Frank1463
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/the-isle-of-man-tt.17415/
This one is visually quite nice, and the road mesh is a lot better. It isn't completely in line with how the real place looks, but it's a lot better looking than the other one and has fewer issues. It's also just so fun to drive. This one isn't a conversion, and you can tell a lot of time was spent (obviously, it's 37km long). Definitely get this one if you want an Isle of Man TT track.

Istanbul
Folder Name:
Istan
Author: daubster
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/istanbul-park-beta.3212/
This track is a beta and hasn't been updated since 2014 so it's likely abandoned. I am impressed by what's there though if the claim by the author that it's not a conversion, it's scratch made. It's from the early days and the buildings and surroundings are surprisingly realistic so if it actually is scratch made that's impressive, but there's some evidence that it's a codemasters conversion. This must have been one of the best looking tracks available back then. It does have it's issues. The walls don't have collision, there's no AI, there's no preview and the map is messed up so it's not recommended, but it is impressive given how old it is.

Folder Name: acu_istanbul-park
Author: ACU
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/0e47a1srbkvawna/Acu_trackpack.7z
This is another codemasters conversion from ACU and another great job. There's not much more to say about these at this point. They are all well executed and look great. This one has a skin/shaders pack available for it here that brings modern banners and some nicer visuals. This is the one to get.

Addendum
Here's where I will put tracks that I missed before.

Bremgarten
Folder Name:
bremgarten1954
Author: rainmaker
Download: https://www.mediafire.com/file/gp1rjvcdd4iasry/bremgarten1954.7z
This track surprised me. I expected it to look bad, and while it doesn't look amazing, it's a solid looking track. Everything except the blurry horizon mountains looks color corrected, and maybe it's just because I had grassFX on (really, grassFX transforms bland environments) but I really liked the way this one looks, plus the road surface is good and it's a genuinely fun track to drive.

Folder Name: bremgarten_faux_pre_war
Author: Legion
Download:
I am not sure if this is a rework of the rainmaker version or if it was just a conversion done from the same source material. There are only a few differences I notice between this one and the other one. The main one is the signage is different and second is that there's no people around. I copied the bremgarten1954 ini file to this track and all of the lights and grassfx stuff carried over just fine and it looks awesome. This is the best version.

Detroit Belle Isle
Folder Name:
detroit2017
Author: Rainmaker
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/file/5nhb2sd5535qmf7
This track looks nice and performs well, but the road is as smooth as glass and anyone that has seen a race at this track in real life would agree that there is no way this track should be this smooth. Other than that it's great.

Folder Name: nagp_detroit
Author: nagp
Download: http://www.northamericangp.com/board/downloads.php?do=file&id=1252
This looks to be either a rework or a conversion of the same track but with a lot of trackside details missing. The road is as bumpy as the real track looks to be. If you want a realistic driving experience get this one. If you want more scenery get the other one. I'd love for the road mesh from this one to be combined with the world detail of the other one.

Euroring
Folder Name:
euroring
Author: Tibor Beke
Download: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/euro-ring-hungary.31516/
This is a pretty fun track. The frame rate is good and the colors are vibrant without being harshly bright. The track edges on the corners are a bunch of small straight lines instead of curves, but that's pretty typical for old tracks that are converted over. The grass is good. This has the GP layout and the kart layout. This is the better version.

Folder Name: hd_euroring
Author: Henrique_Drifter
Download: https://www.lucas-mods.com/2019/08/assetto-corsa-euro-ring.html
This appears to be converted from the same original source as the Tibor Beke version but it's had a lot less attention paid to detail. The grass is flat and everything is too bright and washed out. It also only has the GP layout. Oh yeah, and the hotlap start just drops you into a hole.

Nice work once again

Regarding Bremgarten, the main difference besides the signage and people is important for us sim racers who must race period correct cars on period correct tracks. I'm not sure what to call that condition but anyways, Legions version would be from 1934-1939 and Rainmakers version 1947-1954...I know this information is important to at least a few of us..:)

The AI was driving the Audi DTM at Chang and then this happened. wtf?

See? I told that was odd stuff happening today.
First, with me. Now this with you. :nervous::eek:

Guys, just curious; which version of CSP are you using? I don't know if it's related, but I was at 1.60 for weeks. I've noticed lately that the AI are acting and driving ridiculously, on shoulders, etc. I just now went back down to 1.52 and AI seem to be behaving better in general.... I have to test more.

Thanks for tip!
In CM showroom didn't found any LODs for this M1, in the car folder - too, so this is why I decided to make them. Maybe you're right, but I'm not quite good at modding yet. :)

Yes, you'll need to get the original files. PCARS, Forza, TDU, SimRaceway, RR3 and rFactor 1&2 all have LODs in their original files. (with exceptions of course)

Non-Hermann Tilke's circuits are the best, like Monza, Spa, Interlagos, Imola, Zandvoort, Gilles Villeneuve, Suzuka...

Tilke's Hanoi is the worst of all time, almost impossible to overpass.

Here, I made a super dangerous street circuit layout for someone to bring to life. I'd say it's a late 80s/early 90s kind of track with the ridiculous pit entry, in the name of safety; yet the rest of the track is a death trap. :mischievous:
