Guys, I've been trying to research the difference between the IMSA GTP's vs Prototype C's. I'm still confused. I have a IMSA GTP mod from SimDream, but those cars look the same, yet vastly different than my batch of Proto.C's. They seem a little lower and a little smoother... Could be a quality issue... Hell, I dunno. Can someone explain the differences?

I am not an expert but did some quick research and found this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_C vs. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMSA_GT_Championship#GTP_Era

And this explanation from Porsche: https://www.porscheroadandrace.com/porsche-956-962-engines-group-c-vs-imsa/

I hope that answers yoour question.

here is the newest version for nissan gtp zx (0.9.5). The old one monza17 gave to us is maybe version 0.8 or 0.9 else

Thank you, my friend. Sort of related to this, I was able to find free, even better quality versions of the cars that replace the SDD GTP's that I bought a while back, so I was able to delete the SDD ones. Shweeet.

He made mods by himself. If you read the video description you'll notice that all the last exclusive mods are created by this channel. Unfortunately are all private mods :banghead:
Thats one problem when it comes to cool cars being locked away behind private bars...like...whats the point!? This sucks.

Hi,

I too have been looking for this version forever. I had it and got lost at some point. I think it was Malagolli who made it but it seems he deleted it from everywhere. If someone have it, please share it. I'm from Rio and watched a lot of races in that layout, including from that tower :)
Ahh, this is also in AMS2, and it’s great. I have an Adelaide also from AMS1 - the track is great, but the mod version of the textures have very muted and muddy colours.
The 1988 mod version is also pretty good.

Thanks - could you please revise the version numbers in the UI when you release mod updates? Makes them easier to track. Thanks.

Edit: it would be good if the windscreen wiper was over on the left too, and not directly in front of the driver's face - even if this is how the original car was.

Very interesting point.
I agree with alesi too about there never being another sim released that has this much open access.
Developers want to release games every 3 or 2 and in some cases (CODEMASTERS) once a year.

Obviously kunos has ACC and that is very different to AC so i don't think it will bother them that much other than it will never happen again.

rfactor's business model is the outlier here, but then they also don't conform and relish being on their own. away from the glitz and glamour.

I was thinking the other day about PCars 3 and people saying its gone arcade etc because of motion blur etc and whatever.

But as a developer if you look at AC now with the horizon mod with all its blurs and dramatic sun sets etc and open road layouts and drifters getting together or cruisers etc etc.

Its not hard to see where they will focus their attention.

I doubt it is possible to find out any stats but i would take a punt that there's more people using AC for driving around open roads of LA or Tokyo and the biggest 'community' is drifters / cruisers rather than people racing.

505 games are behind that drift21 game on steam, which i think they are struggling to sell clearly because all the drifters are in AC!!

They must of assumed they would up ship and go to an 'official' drift game....
In all of the VR communities I’m in, basically none of them want the motorsport that we love, at all, they all want open world cruising in VR.

Good morning.

Group A Pack Update Released with Jaguar as a new car !

http://assettomods.com/atcc-group-a-pack-beta-v1-3/
Excellent. This is coming along very nicely. When the pack is complete, we will have a possibility to create several complete Group A seasons from the 80s. Also from BTCC, DTM, ETCC. Everybody in the world used more or else same regulations. Very much looking forward to this.

Anyway, sooooo, back to my original question. If I add the gtp imsa's to my prototype c grid, is that a match?
In real life, technically, these cars can’t participate in the same race, as they correspond to different requirements of the regulations.
Therefore, if you want to hold a general race, as if a festival of historic cars is being held on a modern highway, then you can combine the GTP and Group C into one grid, having previously established your own rules so that all participants are in equal conditions.

If you want to spend a historic race - then these cars should be each in its class, but not together. Although Group C cars were exhibited at the GTP, they had differences. FIA Group C has requirements to limit fuel consumption and fuel tank volume to 100 liters. GTPs had a tank of 120 liters, and did not have restrictions on fuel consumption. As can be understood over a long distance, GTP cars get a strategic advantage over Group C. There were some other differences, for example, the American series began to require that the driver's legs be behind the front axle. Because of this rule, Porsche finalized 956 then 962. IMSA conducted short day races, so there may not have headlights on GTPs. Group C has headlights, since they spent long races at night.

In general, for those who are interested in historical conformity, it will be right to separate the GTP and Group C. For those who just want a large grid with cars that are similar in characteristics and appearance, no one can forbid putting them on a one grid. In this case, I would advise you on GTP cars that have no headlights - draw them on the texture, as is done in Nascar :) And of course not to ride in such a composition at night.

is anyone here has a good tuning physics for IMSA GTP and Group C cars? i'm just making physics my cars to more realistic (i'm bad at tuning) :(
Further to my post above, the headlights on your Nissan GTP ZX Turbo 1985 IMSA seem extremely bright (turning the road yellow) but only illuminate the road about ~10m in front of the car. Can the beam length be increased, or maybe the angle of the lights need raising a bit?

The light has been decreased in 0.9.5 but I think i will change a yellow beam to white and purple beam to be better

Hoping for these Simbin tracks:
Mantorp
Marrakech 2010
Karlskoga
Falkenberg
Sturup
Spa 2003 (with the old bus stop)

:)
Bah. Swedish tracks. I live 60kms from Karlskoga. Sturup? Skane. They don’t even speak Swedish down there. And Mantorp is about 100kms from me. As the crow flies. Can’t remember what series they run there

Here it is - the entirety of the 1971, 1975, 1976, 1982, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2006, 2008 and 2010 F1 seasons: https://mega.nz/folder/KUlmXAgB#c6eISbUyAXRl_KmCkIitmw

Have any other full grids for other seasons that you'd like the community to have as well? Maybe you have the full grids from some of Schumacher's most dominant years in red, or some classic F1 from the 50's and 60's, you could even have the full grids from the start of the ground effect era. Whatever it is, please feel free to let me know, but I'll need a link to them so I can locate them and add them to the folder.

Cheers,

Was in the middle of grabbing this from MEGA last night when I got stopped for going over the limit. Resumed later to find it was removed in the interim. Amazing timing lol. Can anyone point me in the right way to finding this stuff again? Cheers. Also all this stuff is so overwhelming, it all looks amazing. Gonna start collecting all these Group C cars:drool:

Couldn't agree more. And if you look on the website:

the Mústang is coming

jacarepagua_br - a great option for the track! Thank!
However, I was mistaken when I wrote that this is also a historical version - but earlier than 1988, corresponding to 1978-1979. This is not true.
upload_2020-6-20_12-53-57.png

This is a short version, which probably corresponds to 1995-2005, for track days, and possibly motorcycle events.
There is some information here. However, there is a chicane in fashion, but it is not on this map.
http://www.the-fastlane.co.uk/racingcircuits/Brazil/Rio1995Short.html
Does anyone know more information about this track configuration, in particular, which racing series could use it, what is the length of this configuration?

P.S. Judging by the information from the history of GSС - this is the 2005 version
