Does anyone happen to know if someone has tried to build the new Kazakhstan Track Sokol for Assetto? Another project by Tilke & Co, as is easy to see on the layout. The MotoGP will drive there in the coming year and later also Formula one. Is somewhere in the Kazakh-grasland near Almaty.

Geotag puts this track in/near the village of Brunico in Italy. So I'd just rename it to Brunico if you don't like OLDRing. Which granted is a very bad name.

Castle Combe 2022

At last, I’m happy to release the public beta of the Castle Combe mod I’ve been working on for over a year. It’s modelled from 1m LiDAR scan data and thousands of reference photos, so looks, layout and elevations should be reasonably accurate...

...and having a quick go, they have indeed. Finally, Avon Rise into Quarry is as it should be, blind and challenging (the reason why it's one of the most accident-causing corners of any UK circuit), I've even taken a free-can walk around the paddock and spectator areas and everything is as it should be. It's even got the 4x4 and Go-Kart tracks in place, now if they ended up drivable (I've asked over at RD)...

I'm so happy that we've finally got a quality version of Castle Combe in AC; it's the first and so far only "real" race track I've been to; I was there as part of their Rally Day a few years ago and I got to ride in an ex-works Peugeot 306 Maxi 2L Kit Car.

This track is just so much fun to drive. Fast and flowing. Doesn't hurt that it's chalked full of goodies to really give it that realistic feel. Well done.

That's what I did. Named it Bruneck Park to match the town name in the description. Going to have to whip up a few track cams for some of the layouts when I get some free time.

EDIT: Threw together 2 quick ones for the OLDRing Park GP layout. Plenty more will follow for all the layouts when I can finish them unless someone beats me to it. If you are familiar with some of my past track cams, you know I like low angle, wide view shots to really show off the track makers work. Goes in the gp\data folder.

Fun little car! I just drove it around "OLDRing."

One issue to fix--the driver's head, or parts of his face or cover are visible in VR. So if you move the view back to where it should be, you can see the inside of parts of his head.

Please remind me again how to have it 'parked' on the right hand side so that it doesn't pause in the middle of a continuous sweep, like all centrally-parked CSP wipers do? I really wish Ilja would fix that, lol.

Edit: It's OK, I remembered:

ANIMATION_OFFSET = 0
...

It might not be OEM this way but the smoother sweep is worth it, I reckon.

Hi everyone. I found a new map on the internet. Someone took the Limerock version from the Reboot-team and did open up the infield. So you are able to drive around everywhere. I think it is supposed for drifting. It is a big freeroam area without a starting position - so you have to enter the map via the pit.

Hello everybody, I'm having a really weird bug with Fonteny. I can't race there, no matter what I try, different cars, number of opponents, AI level, time of day, reverse layout, anything, around 5 seconds after the race starts it crashes back to the desktop. I can hotlap in both layouts, but as soon as I race it crashes. The track is completely stock, version 1.1, both installed manually and through content manager, deleting all files previously, doesn't matter, the issue persists. Has this happened to anyone? I'd be really thankful if anyone could help me with this, thanks in advance.

...and here's a non-midget driver who actually grips the steering wheel and puts his feet on the pedals, plus a better shifting animation.
I shortened the gearstick slightly on the previous car to stop his hand clipping through the gearknob, which will happen on the new car unless it's adjusted in the kn5. It's still a much better shifting animation though.
(Remove the .txt file extensions, of course)
