Why wouldn't the Prototype have a cockpit view? if all other 999 cars have cockpit view and that doesn't wouldn't it be weird, how would the replays look?? This is what's confusing me about all this.
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong...
Because the prototype doesn't actually have an interior (or else it'll just be a bunch or exposed wires), they didn't include it in the game. Like in real life, the windows are also blacked-out.

That's a silly question. Of course Prologue had to have interior on all cars. It was made to promote GT5 as well as it ever could. And not having interior on all cars would've been just utterly stupid and half-assed. However, GT5, as much as I would like it to, doesn't have to have and basically can't have interior on all cars. There are just too many of them.

Thats some weird logic you have there, totally doesn't make any sense at all.

As odd as I think it would be to have 800 cars without a cockpit view, I've been thinking about it and I'm starting to believe it. Lets think about this for a minute...

All the cars from GT4 are going to be in GT5 yes? Think about some of the more unusual cars and cars that would never come to your head unless you were scrolling through the games garage. I'm finding it hard to believe that PD would model cockpits for those cars...I mean the Ford Model T? The Ford XR8 Race Car, Nike One, Jay Leno's Tank Car, Isuzu 177 Coupe, the Cizeta Moroder?? Hmmm...as much as I hope that there will be cockpits for every car, I just can't see PD getting these cars to model them. Take a look at the GT4 car list...

I'm seriously worried now, I want a respectable journalist (cmon IGN) to clarify this!

IMO a lot of the cars you have mentioned must have a cockpit view.

They are open cars, the model T ford couldn't be blanked off they have no choice but to model the interior. Same goes for Nike and Jay Leno's.

I think what he meant was that GT5P was sort of a marketing tool for Gran Turismo 5, so, obviously, they'd put their best foot forward and have all the cars have cockpits.

i think this lancer is standard.... and have cockpit view

Eurogamer like forza 3 :D

I'm pretty sure that Lancer Evo IV is a GT4 upscale port (standard car). And I do see a well defined interior. I'm sure the cockpit is fully modelled in that Lancer and in all other 799 standard cars. What is not modelled is the engine bay and internal mechanical components. Unlike the Subaru WRC which will lose large parts like hoods and trunk and therefor need to show it's inner workings, the Lancer won't, and will not need such detailed "under the hood" modelling.

That's not cockpit view. Cockpit view would be the dash, steering wheel and all working gauges.
I don't know anymore.

There is no way Kaz would let 800 cars drive around with blacked out windows. Just not going to happen.

What would happen in replays?? Photo mode??

Its just not going to happen!

Seriously, if only 200 cars has interior, then what has PD done the last 6 years???? That sucks... Yes, I'm serious.

I just have to wait and see, but at this moment, it looks like I'm not gonna have to purchase this game.

The game has taken 5 years give or take. It will be mega, relax people, relax. The Japanese culture do not have the word "lazy" in their vocabulary.

800 cars have no interior views.. BUT
as long we get a HOOD view, I will be happy!!!

In real life, I do not sit in front of 32-55 inch TV, so its very easy to see, in video game I always choose hood view because I wanna see as much as I can. So Hood view FTW!

Also
"ace-tracking in cockpit view"
Head tracking is confirmed.

The fact that he said Porsche, (when it was probably a RUF), gives me hope that the translation could be bad, but the 'stitching' part appears to be quite specific.

I doubt it was a RUf, for some reason I have the feeling it was a 370Z.

Yep, we can only hope he was that kind of journalist, confusing wiring with stitching and thinking Skyline refers to the graphic backdrop.;)

MrRoadRace, yes that's pretty much the only reason.

We have? Where can I see that? :) (the Fiat 500 cockpit)

It's just a figure of speech, just probably thought of the first car manufacturer that popped into his head when writing the article.

I personally think that hood view is too high up in the air. I feel like im driving a semi
Also, the hood view is in the middle of the car, which is inaccurate, unless you're driving the McLaren F1.

I'm using the cockpit view only in Prologue, even when I'm drifting, so I really hope this is false information.

^^ x2

I usually start using the cockpit view, but when im getting my ass handed to me I switch to the front bumper cam so I can "feel" like im going faster lol

No cockpit no buy!

How many days did Kaz say it took for them to create a car?

Would be interesting to know how many cars you can make in 6 years time if you are lets say 10-11 people.

But if its a matter of cutting costs then its stupid. He knows very well that if the game were to cost $100+, we would still buy it because it is the best there is. So I do not accept in any shape or form 800 cars with "black out lines" or no cockpit view. If he wants to roll that way he can keep his game.

Well, I cant accept a Suzuki Cervo and Fiat 500 Being Premium, while cars maybe like an Old Toyota Supra wont :grumpy:

I think that Standard Cars Will have the Dashboard and maybe front seats, but wont have rear panels, seats and all those details. IMO that would be a great solution for Standard Cars.
