Not necessarily. Remember that Forza Motorsport 3 (or was it 4?) had a porsche dlc WHILE ea had the exclusive rights to porsche cars (and licenses).
So far no car manufacturer or game publisher made their license agreements public so license discussions will always be educated guesses at best.
It's extraordinarily unlikely that EA hold an license exclusively for that particular car when they have approximately zero games that would use it. I get your point with Forza but even then, the spending power of Microsoft who could then charge us for the privilege of having it made that a very different scenario.

So, any clues on the unannounced 4 cars?
I'd like for them to be kept a secret until the content is released and am hoping there is good reason why they haven't been revealed. The 4 cars currently revealed all add something exciting to their respective classes and the Spec II update cars were nearly all excellent. 🤞

I totally agree. It would be nice to not find until Spec III drops 😁

I wonder if dataminers can aoready see the other 4 cars for the update 🤔

I hope that some of the remaining four cars are not electric, but rather classic racing cars, such as the Bentley Speed 8, Nissan GT1 R390, Porsche 911 GT1-98 or even Super GT cars, which are spiritually linked to the Gran Turismo franchise.

Even the event structures of GT1 (practice/qualifying optional, grid start races) is something I'd prefer personally.
100%

My main issue with the championships (single player) is the lack of practice/qualifying. It's an odd omission. Currently If you want to do a championship, you need to check what tracks are in said championship, and then utilize the time trial mode to practice the individual tracks before joining the championship.

Furthermore, having more grid start races would be excellent, as long as the AI is good enough to allow for more than a lap or two before taking the lead.

With one Mitsubishi in the update it's probably too much to ask for another, but there is one particular SUV this game needs

Hopefully the last 4 cars is not all race cars. But i do think pd Will go for good choises regardless. The bigger updates mostly bring in more itresting cars.

Got to see one of these in person (in the classic Mitsubishi red) up here at the Dragon. Can't seem to find the picture I got but maybe I deleted it. That thing has a presence. It's waaay cooler and bad ass in person than I expected one to be.

An old Delica would be cool. Not a Mitubishi but one of those Mazda MPV things or the supercharged Toyota Sienna?

I'm down for cool weird "non-sports" cars.. Just not modern ones that have no history, soul and aren't interesting lol

Regarding the Dunlop tyre partnership. I was having a look at the Mazda Spirit Racing GT Cup races. Just hoping licencing is opened for tyre branding outside of Sport Mode and these types of stand alone local series.

pssr vr2 and the gt3 296 are my exciters. What a great journey GT7 has been and is. Best game ever! Keeps on giving

PSSR is something we would like, not something listed for the update though.

An interesting thought:

Considering the Xiaomi is not coming in Spec III, do you guys think these 4 cars yet to be revealed are, generally speaking - from a fan service perspective, better or worse than the 4 cars already shown?

In other words, do you feel PD is saving the best of the pack for last or did they choose the best ones right off the bat to better promote Spec III?

I would say that Kaz's gratitude to the Abu Dhabi government may have been due to the circuit license being granted free of charge or even the PD team's expenses being covered by the UAE crown, as part of the soft power strategy.

If this is true, it would be a good deal for PD: adding content without the costs. There are many interesting circuits in the Eurasian transcontinental region to be added, thus opening the possibility of including the fourth region in the circuit selection menu.

Personally, I don't think the remaining 4 cars will be better or worse than the 4 already shown. Spec III's cars will be varied and will appeal to most people, if it's any similar to the Spec II update.

Outside of the Tesla in Spec II, every inclusion was generally liked by the community. I expect the same to happen with Spec III. :)

GT7 updates will cease after GT8 announcement and we don't know when that will happen. GT8 is likely for PS6 and we don't know when it will be announced either. I think we will still get updates until PS6 or GT8 announced. Spec 2 was 2 years ago and we have been proven wrong to say GT7 is dying.
I really don’t think we will see GT8 this generation. As you say, GT7 is alive and well. I would think that we have 3-4 years to get out of it yet.
