Judging by that image, it appears to have multiple colours, and doesn't look like an Onyx as much as I thought.

My guess is that the car may have a two-tone paintjob, since that's been a trademark of many Peugeot concept cars as of late (red/black body, perhaps?). And that rear end looks a lot like the Citroen GT's rear end more than it resembles an Onyx. And that's the thing; I get the feeling that this may be a 100% original concept for Peugeot, rather than an Onyx rehash. Because if it is a rehash, it sure doesn't look like it.

If I'm honest, I would quite like an Onyx Racing concept. Maybe even have it so the copper oxidises as mileage increases. Too far?

Now that would be the ultimate version of "racing patina". And well, an Onyx Racing concept wouldn't hurt either (because the Onyx is an actually great concept), but a bit of originality wouldn't hurt...

That appears to be true. In this frame, wich I'm assuming to be the rear end based on the sketches, there's something that looks like a small spoiler and it doesn't look like a fixed one. I could be wrong thogh.

The rear end does have a certain Citroen GT feel to it. Another car that gives me the same feel is the Merc VGT.
"That blends the codes of the GT"... Uuuuhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhh !!!

Copying off each other, and from older concepts.

I guess the design area is spent.

We don't even know for sure if it is a copy of the Onyx, so you can't really tell if it going to be just that. And from what I gather from the images and the video of the car, it doesn't seem to look like an Onyx at all. If it does, then it's an Onyx that received a lot of surgical changes...

Or a new Onyx altogether.

Well, it would be a refreshing change from the barely changed "racing versions" (I'm looking at you, Toyota group) of other concept cars. Because, at least from the rear, it doesn't look like an Onyx to me...

@FrzGT Gemasolar was used in their marketing campaign for the new 308R Hybrid. As far as I know it currently has no link with Gran Turismo. It fooled me the first time I saw it as well.

This reminds me of the Aston Martin VGT in terms of it's originality.

Same here. If it does turn out be Peugeot's VGT and it looks like that then I applaud them for making something original rather than one based on an existing concept.

I remember somewhere, some official source that has a detailed VGT project description, the car manufacturers are allowed to produce racing models of their current concept cars.
