Wait, where are the side windows for that VGT? Camo'd?

That's an interior right there

Well that just blew my mind

Well, look:

i1nmGN5ALguKZ.jpg

Can't see a single area of glass on that side. That is some mind-blowing stuff. All is see are the lines that make up for the doors, and those stretch themselves all the way up to the roof.

But is it as mind-blowing as "This Concept is a vehicle"? (Yeah, sue me for doing that joke, haha).

Not really liking the design to be honest. The Onyx looks somewhat cohesive. This one just looks like a mess of angles and straight lines. The rear spoiler looks awkward as well.

Dat 1:1 P2W ratio though  But I suspect it's still not faster than the Mazda LM55 because of lack of downforce. It looks like the performance will be similar to the Aston DP-100.

Also, I am a bit dissapointed that it's going to be an AWD car, I would have loved for this to be a MR car. But then again, with 875 hp, it's probably better to have some degree of grip...

The AWD will probably be rear biased. The Aston DP-100 is also AWD but it's still oversteery as hell. I'm sure this will be similarly fun (or scary lol).

And for nth time people; no interior for VGTs unless they are open top. We can see the steering wheel in several other VGTs as well, but there's still no interior. Don't get your hopes up and then blame PD.

To be fair, it's about as cohesive as the Citroen GT, if anything. And it's still not as awkward as other attempts at a VGT that I've seen (Mitsubishi and Subaru, step right up if you please). Not to mention that at least the spoiler is retractible, so it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb all the time. My five cents.

Yes, because the Peugeot is not a downright race car, it'll probably not be as fast as the LM55. It might just beat the DP due to its lower weight. Actually, the DP-100 is the best possible rival for the Pug; both AWD supercars, high on the power and don't resort to heavy aerodynamic extra bits.

And you do have a point about the AWD system, the Pug is mid-engined after all. It should have some rear bias. I would like it to be a little less wacky than the DP; that thing can oversteer to the point where it's almost undrivable... :scared:

Well, we aren't getting our hopes that up, not me at least. We are just showing what we can see in those pictures, and they show an interior. Unfortunately, those pictures may not come from the game engine in "our" GT6, but "PD's" GT6. What I mean by that is that the game engine is probably an enhanced version used by PD for publicity and such. If previous VGT cases are anything to go by, the Peugeot will most likely be a victim of the same fate. I would love to be wrong, I really would, but knowing what PD has done in the past, I have to tone down my hopes.

I quite like the Citroen personally. The Mitsu and Subaru are lazy designs (along with the FT1), but they're still alright to look at. This one just feels weird. Probably because I had high expectations looking at the silhouette in the teaser, so the actual product feels kinda "meh" to me. A better colour scheme wouldn't hurt either.

Apologies if it feels like I'm calling you out. I was directing that bit towards the people that keeps expecting interiors everytime a new VGT rolls around. At this point I think we can safely say that PD is not going to make an interior for VGTs. It's a shame, but that's what it is...

Well, the grey definitely doesn't help the car, I'd say a black or a more lively colour (more lively than grey, at least) would suit the car better. A black car with the red accents would work so much better, in my honest opinion. And remember, most VGT silhouettes rarely match the final design (and to be fair, the fact that the Pug's own had a fixed rear wing didn't please me that much, it's not really an original detail when half the brands on this project have done the same thing).

No, it's okay, I was just pointing that whole fact out. I like it when brands create interiors for these cars, but I don't like it when PD ignores them and keeps the interior section in the dark (literally). I know this may sound too hopeful, but if these VGT cars do make it into GT7, they should... no, they must have a detailed interior. When you go to each car's page only to see a interior sketch surrounding the car's page, it baffling.

Hope the powertrain is carried from Onyx.

And i saw the 307 Convertible vibe from that side view for some reason.

Great effort from Peugeot 👍

Interestingly though, there's no GT badge on the car.

Sadly, I have to give you the bad news first;

Gran Turismo website says:

The central V6 turbo 3.2L engine, just behind the driver, feeds its 875 bhp to the ground via six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system comprising 22-inch alloys in the front and 23-inch counterparts in the back.

So yes, it won't carry over the Onyx's powerplant (it would be easy to implement too, since it's the 908 HDI FAP's own engine), unfortunately.

Maybe the side "windows" have SHD screens that show what's going on there.
Or maybe the windows are mode from a one-way mirror-type material.

There are probably cameras on the side of the car to display inside the cockpit what you would normally see through the glass. By removing the windows, I'd think you would be able to considerably strengthen the sides of the car, especially near the roof line.

That would be a plausible solution, yes. But if that is indeed the case, then they must be some well hidden cameras, because the only one I can see is the one mounted on the hood of the car. But obviously, there has to be some solution to this predictament of no windows...

Also, according to Peugeot's own website, the car will have six colours, although they don't state which ones they are. We do know that the grey that shows up in the picture is colour number 1 of 6, so what are the others? Presumably, according to the original video teaser, we may also have a black, red and blue colours...

Edit: Here's the picture that I was aluding to (credit goes to @notStig):

If you look closely, you will see around 7 colours, including a red and a black colour.

I don't think removing the windows on the doors would affect the main structure of the car that much. Perhaps you could strengthen the doors, but the loss of visibility wouldn't justify it. For me that's just for looks, even if I think it looks kinda weird.

That device on the hood of the car appears to be a Pitot tube, which you can see on race cars, and it's used for telemetry purposes. It looks similar to the one on the Peugeot 908.

"Telemetry purposes", eh? Interesting, doesn't the Chaparral 2X have something similar as well? And what role could it have on a VGT car such as this?

Funnily enough, that fin on the 2X looks like a camera :). But the Mazda LM55 has one tube on the roof, and the Red Bull X2010 cars have one on the nose as well. This tube is used to calculate air flow speed, which help in tuning the car's aero. It's not a necessary equipement for road cars, so they might have thought it looked cool, because they were combining "characteristics from GTs, supercars and sports prototypes".

There's multiple versions of the car flashing at the end. Are they just color differences or is a race version included? Can't pause it properly with my phone..

That is a really beautiful piece of design work. I wonder if that interior is just a black placeholder or an actual cockpit view. I assume the windows would be blacked out of it wasn't functional. That and it looks relatively detailed.

One thing I'm very interested in is how it sounds, PD have stepped their game up lately in that department.

As usual, they posted this on the Gran Turismo Facebook page and the amount of Project CARS spam in the comments in ridiculous. That game has one seriously toxic community.

What can we do, Project Cars is the best game ever produced.

Don't want yet another thread to get derailed by Project Cars, but seriously, I had to quote this for truth.

@dimassa19 where is that liveried racing version from?

I don't think they are colour differences, they just seem to go from the full car to digital mesh of sorts. Probably just some fancy transition effect, if I had to guess.

What can we do, Project Cars is the best game ever produced.

Can we please knock that excessive hype off before it ruins this thread too? If you don't want to talk about the car itself, fine, but don't start yet another random Project CARS "gag".
