Anyone notice what it actually was that damaged Massa's front wing initially?

It was a TV camera, embedded on the inside of turn 1. He ran clean over it - the last image the camera recorded was looking down, slightly, at Massa's front wing and on the outside camera you can see something black and cylindrical ejected from the rear of his car. I'll record it off Sky+ and post the pics up, if no-one else can find them.

Would be a very happy chap if you could do that for me.

After watching yesterday GP, I admit I owe Mr. Tilke an apology about my latestpost in that thread: The track is good and above all spectacular.
Adding an extra passing spot would make that track one of my top 5 circuits.
Well done Mr. Tilke
At least the guy learned from his ( numerous ) mistakes.

Oh flaps. I forgot to bring the DVD recorder home. Shazbat. I'll do it tomorrow.

No point. Massa hit the back of someone at the first corner and broke his wing there. It just fell off later just as he was going over the grass.

wrong bit removed

EDIT: Hold on a minute. I've got the wrong bit. Don't go away.

Yeah...I was gonna say.

I didn't catch the start but all it looks like is that he ran into banked grass at a head-on angle. Plowing straight into the ground'd rip off any wing.

As for ferrari, they have had their glory and will now go back mid field runners like they were in the 80's. MS should retire soon so he can still kinda go out on top, things will only go down hill now.
I don´t think either Ferrari or MS will give up that easily. Rubens said they´re still trying to win the Constructors Championship, but my guess is they don´t give a rat's ass to 2005 anymore. They´re already testing the 2006 car.

oooooh, okay.

Ha, what a crock.

edit: wait....so If massa hit...is that what caused the williams to get the flat?

I honestly dont think they will be too impressive in '06 either, MS is coming to the end of his career and Massa i just dont think is good enough for Ferrari.

It really depends I think.

If they bring in the multi lap qualifying system then Bridgestone/Ferrari will own ... or at least be competetive. If they stick with single lap quali, then they have alot of work to do.

I agree with Psi, the 12 lap format of acient times was much much more entertaining.

yes that was. the different engines you could use was great. no bother with making it last. saying you need to cut down costs in formula one is like saying you need to shorten the wings on an airplane. when you seriously think about it you see how stupid that sounds. formula one is the most expensive sport because it is the most technicly advanced sport. limiting the amount of money especially in the silly ways that they have been trying to is the wrong move. shall we also go back to being scared of fire? you want to limit the amount of money spent limit the testing and stop changing the rules so much. you could clearly also make money by puting the tests on tv to.

and stop taking off wing. seriously. come on.

For someone who spends most of their posts saying that they don't want to watch a few cars pound around a track that seems like a very strange thing to say.

And there is NO WAY that putting tests on TV will make money. Only the die hard fans want to watch a few cars doing endless laps all day, and hell, most die hard fans don't.

Do you really think the general public will watch 6+ hours of F1 cars doing lap after lap, with no overtaking and no crashes, a few mechanical issues and nothing much exciting.

I really don't think they will.

what i said wasnt perfect but its an idea. sell tickets or something.

and how do i spend my posts like that? i just thought i was post whoring for BAR...

People do turn up for test days. There's usually a couple of people in each grand stand. I'm not actually sure if it costs money or not. It wouldn't make much money anyway.

Friday test days at a GP weekend cost much less ticket price i believe

I meant test days, not Practice on a GP weekend. Like all this week the teams have been testing at Monza, that sort of test day.
