Ugh... Montoya is such a joke. Why's McLaren still running if they continue to award Renault with such presents? *shakes head*
He had a flat-spotted right front tire. What was he supposed to do, pit and lose the position? Alonso did a great job at adding pressure, and it got to Montoya.

Being a bit more cautious while lapping the Jordan? He cut right into his braking line, leaving him no room to brake. Not going back to the race line right in front of Monteiro would have saved him from the contact. This isn't all Monteiro's fault.

I'm not blaming Montero. I think the passing move was legitimate, but he should have waited a bit, but he wanted to gain a bigger lead on Alonso. I don't see anything wrong with that, besides he should have waited a few more turns to do it.

But, after this happened, what was Montoya supposed to do? He did the best he could with what he had.

It was Montoya's fault. The incident with Monteiro was more like 50/50, but he should have taken the 8th corner a little slower since he knew his car was damaged.

Montoya = :dopey:

Wow. Great qualifing and brilliant race. Really entertaining.
I really like those new features on the TV with the thottle and brake thing between Alonso and Button, i hope they keep those....

I still rate Montoya though.

God, I hate Montiero. Damn moving chicanes. I don't care whose fault it is, Montiero should've swerved off the track instead of braking right into Montoya's diffuser.

Haha. Did Montoya break the 1 move/pass/whatever rule, too? I think he could've blocked Alonso if he didn't go so fast right off the track.

Turn 8 IS a doozy. that's pretty nuts and definitely misleading.

Interesting GP. Quiet enjoyable even if not too full of action, except for the last turn.

I like it when they showed when the TCS was working aswell.

That was a refreshing GP :D

Fisi had an awesome start but was a shame when he ran wide out of Turn 10 mucking up his speed down the straight, kinda gifted Kimi that.

Webber and MS was interesting, i think it was MS's fault... just, he could have gave more room since webber was half way up the side of him. Whilst im on Williams what was up with their right rears?! I think it might have been their rear wing cutting into it, not having the best of luck right now and will be the first 2 cars out for quali at Monza.

Button was impressive in a long last competitive BAR moving into the points after like 7 laps or somin like that... what could have been if qualifying wasnt a shambles eh?

Red Bull kicked ass with both cars in the points out driving Ferrari and Sauber, Klien has impressed me beyond belief considering last year he was all over the place. Coulthard kept a cool head throughout the race and was able to jump Klien in the pits for a deserved 7th.

Ferrari had a really dissapointing race, yes the tyres were partly to blame but surely the quality of MS and Rubens could have done better on the day?

Massa had a less than inspiring day after signing for Ferrari next season getting all caught up in the first corner.

Poor poor Montoya, he drove a great race just a shame about the 'moving chicane' known as a Jordan... I think that was what caused the flatspot that made him run wide at turn 8 on the last lap to let Alonso through. Alonso really wernt up to the pace of the McLarens when you think that Renault were the first team to pit their cars, i dont think it was a stratagey as such, just fuels levels.

So in all it was a great GP, Turn 8 needs a name and is already legendary in my books, they just need to sort out the traffic problems they had, people were supposibly still trying to get in as Raikkonen crossed the start/finish line for the last time.

Roll on Monza..

Great race. Some bonehead moments, the tire rule was again shown to be insane and some smooth driving to be seen. However nothing of surprise really other than MS. When he is off he is OFF!

I'm still in love with Turn 8 and in general think this circuit is the best Tilke yet. I don't mind Bahrain but Malaysia and China do nothing for me.

Barring mechanical issues, which we know are a huge part of the McMerc experience, I can't see Kimi loosing a singel race the rest of the season. The McLaren's pace is lightyears ahead of renault and all other and Kimi's driving looks smooth and controlled. As much as I thought the title was over 2 races ago I think it might still go down to the wire. Alonso needs a DNF (or two) or point-less finish to help matters. If the McMerc doesn't grenade though Kimi wins the rest of the races this season. However a McMerc NOT blowing up on a race weekend is about 60/40% (60% been the chance it will blow)...

Off to Monza. I can't see Ferrari being this bad there. There will be riots!!!

;-)

Is it me or does Webber have more collisions than alot of people?

You know Sato hates engines and Webber seems to just like to crash into other people. Or is it just me?

Maybe Webber is like National Australian Bumber Cars Champ...

And Sato's hunger for white/blue smoke seems to have gone all cold turkey suddenly...

Which is why he had a new engine before the race....?

My mistake.

I thought he started at the back because of engine problems. Didn't he have time deleted in the end?

Because he was on Webbers racing line as Webber was qualifying, Sato was on his in lap so his time was scrapped

Anyone notice what it actually was that damaged Massa's front wing initially?

It was a TV camera, embedded on the inside of turn 1. He ran clean over it - the last image the camera recorded was looking down, slightly, at Massa's front wing and on the outside camera you can see something black and cylindrical ejected from the rear of his car. I'll record it off Sky+ and post the pics up, if no-one else can find them.

How the hell does Mike Tyson get to go on the starting grid? I thought he was bankrupt.

Great race! I even stayed up for the whole thing, usually I finish at about 11:30.

Go Kimi, go!

Oh crap...double post....uhhh.... Stay in school!?

I love turn 8. It makes every lap exciting.

Yeh another win for kimi....I am actually starting to get used to this dominance. I agree with Kensei, Kimi can win every race now, unless the fantastic reliability of the mcalren kicks in. I mean think about it, has there been a race this year where if kimi hadn't had bad luck or broken down some how, that he couldn't win? If he had normal luck he could well be on 140 points right now.

As for ferrari, they have had their glory and will now go back mid field runners like they were in the 80's. MS should retire soon so he can still kinda go out on top, things will only go down hill now.

It would have been interesting if Button had qualified higher, even though i dont really like him, as long as he is taking points away from alonso i will be happy.

I believe that Kimi still has about a 30-30 percent chance of winning the title.

Wow. This track is certainly Tilke's masterpiece. I don't mind Bahrain or Sepang, I hate China, but this track is how he'll be remembered ... at least by me. This track has some great challenges, and allows for alot of overtaking.

As for the race, the Renaults were great of the line, but Kimi stuck it on the line to hold off Alonso. Fisi gave him the lead, running wide at the worst possible time.

The Williams/Michelin thing was strange. Good call by Williams not to put on any more tyres, next time may have been very near another car. :nervous:

That Tiago/Montoya incident was probably mostly Tiago's fault I think, he was a lapped car and should have given Montoya room. Montoya then had to give away 2nd place to Alonso. :grumpy:

When they were onboard with Sato and Kimi had ran wide, I saw Sato passing an uber slow Raikkonen and my heart just sunk, I thought it was another retirement. :scared:

Anyway, faultless race by Kimi, ditto Alonso, and they both got the positions they deserved.

The championship is that little bit harder now, and unless Kimi wins every race left he has a very slim chance.

Good race Kimi, good circuit Tilke. 👍

I dont think Micheal Schumachar is not all that used of getting passed. I think Webber almost makes moves stick where most other drivers would never try it, it seems like he shocks the car in front so much the last thing in their mind is giving racing room. Schumi didnt even need to squeeze him out, he was on the inside for the next corner so even though Webber got up the inside, it wasnt going to work.

But it does beg the question, why is Webber always in collisions, or at least hes been in alot this year, not one singlerly (thats spelt very wrong I suspect) his fualt, but I dont think it can be called coincidence so far
