GTPlanet Thread of the Week – Example of MoTeC Data Analysis

15766358149_3ba29685aa_h

One feature not often discussed is the MoTeC Data Analysis feature in GT6; a tool that can be utilized to compare, contrast, and offer in-depth analysis in regards to your laps recorded in-game – a tool that can prove extremely beneficial to hot-lappers and GT Academy participants alike. The tool can be used to monitor lap-by-lap consistency, RPM history, and most importantly where and when you can better utilize a vehicle’s performance to the utmost advantage.

The thread, created by our own ALB123, gives a brief preview into the feature and how it presents the data. There is a learning curve involved but the benefits far outweigh that and could very well be the necessary step taken that leads to something more.

The Last Lap

Next week Destiny is set to receive its second DLC expansion, House of Wolves and I’m fairly excited about it to be perfectly honest, but it’s going to take a lot to get me back into the swing of things as I were several months ago. Next week is also due for the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and I’m looking forward to that as well, although admittedly I’ll first have to make my way through the first two games as I’ve never played them; they just sat in my Steam library waiting to be installed. I’ve installed both at this point and I only have one thing to say so far: holy hell does The Witcher 1 have a frantic bugged/weird/broken/delayed combat system.

I’m hitting keys and nothing is happening. I’m holding keys and nothing is happening. I repeatedly hit keys and everything happens. I then died while taking down an enemy and I wasn’t even attacked by anyone else. I was not prepared for this so I switched over to Witcher 2 to see what I would have waiting there for me, and needless to say I promptly found myself lost in the visual settings.

An eventful week like most others in recent memory, that’s for sure. Until next week, keep racing!

    Once again. awesome Read T-12!

It’s funny, I find that I like these articles the most, but I post on them the least. Maybe because they’re just that so done, that nothing else needs to be said? Idk. But these write-ups spicin’ things up, gives a great overview of the happenings around GTP and in the real/simulated/gaming world, and is a great source of useful info! (I had no clue of the incoming DC update) Thanks again!

Oh, one more thing… I’m impressed by The Witcher 3, and it would’ve been a go-to game for me back in the day. But since I’ve gotten more into online gaming and am now accustomed to gaming socially, I’m considering getting Elder Scrolls Online (June 6th) instead. Do you have any opinions/comparisons/discrepancies pertaining to the two?

    1. Terronium-12

I’m still very much a single player kind of guy because there are just too many variables involved in multiplayer gaming that it’ll never be something I’ll reliably depend upon hand and foot, but having said that the Elder Scrolls games are nothing but great and I’d expect nothing less from ESO. Hell, I’m still addicted to Skyrim but haven’t played it in months for that *exact* reason.

My only discrepancy is, again, with the multiplayer aspect: if something happens, whether it be on your end or not, the entire game is in-effect rendered useless.

  2. Jayson619

DRIVECLUB’s Lamborghini Icons is the one I’m looking forward to, mainly two of the cars: Reventon and Sesto Elemento. If only the latter can come to GT6 as well.

  3. KiroKai

Interesting read! If I may suggest a change, I think it would be easier if you could move the photo credits underneath each corresponding photo. In similar size to the gallery image caption, but including the link (and maybe the date or the image title, as you see fit). Curious what you think about this and looking forward to the next Spotlight :)

    1. Terronium-12

That’s a fine idea and could make things look a little more clean, I’ll test it out next week and go from there. Thanks!

    2. SZRT Ice

If I may, I’d suggest hot linking the credits as well instead of doing a separate forum link to further neaten the appearance.

    3. Terronium-12

Ice, I’m a little confused, aren’t you suggesting what I’m already doing for the footnote beneath the “The Last Lap” feature?

Or are you suggesting linking directly to the image in question? If it’s the latter, and thinking about it now I’m sure that is, it would undermine the reason I do it the way I do now: to encourage comments on the images. Sure you could do that here and achieve the same effect more or less, but the idea is to encourage it on our forum as a whole.

Kind of the exact reasoning for me linking to entire threads where necessary and not leaving it up to you guys to find where they are.

DRIVECLUB update: “A new option to toggle the entire On-Screen Display on and off while you race, without pausing.” That’s a welcome addition & quite a pleasant surprise, as it’s not normally something you’d get in an arcade style racer. Well done Evolution Studios!

  5. MarchingSaint

Awesome read Terronium, i’m waiting too the launch of Witcher 3; by the videos you can find on the net you can tell it is really something
