Uh oh! A bit of drama may be in the works regarding the Nissan DeltaWing in Gran Turismo 6.

As noticed by dr_slump here in our forums, the car has been removed from the official car list that was posted yesterday, and all game images of the car on Polyphony Digital’s official website have been removed as well.

nissan_deltawing_12_01Hopefully a more official explanation for the unique car’s absence will be given at SEMA, but until then, most speculation points to current legal and licensing issues surrounding the car and its successor, the Nissan ZEOD concept.

AutoBlog has an overview of the complex personal and corporate relationships surrounding the car, which are most likely jeopardizing its presence in the game.

The DeltaWing is fully modeled and has been drivable in the game since E3 demo builds, so hopefully it will be able to return if and when this legal drama gets resolved. Stay tuned for more information.
