It’s been a huge year for the GTPlanet Endurance Series. With more than 70 teams, 187 participants, and 69 different winners after 2,187 racing man-hours, we’re wrapping things up with this year’s grand finale: a 24 hour race at Spa Francorchamps!

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo, the new rally game currently in development by Italian developer, Milestone. As announced back in June, the game was originally set to be released this month, but the date has now been pushed back to January 29th, 2016, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Update: The update is now available for Xbox One users and weighs in at 2.3GB and brings the following changes specifically to the Xbox One, in addition to those shared across all the platforms.

Since we launched our GT6 Track Database – a platform that helps organize the best user-generated tracks created with the game’s new Track Path Editor – hundreds of tracks have been shared and downloaded thousands of times.

It’s been a long week, full of ups and downs, for 56 Gran Turismo 6 players. Back on the 5th of the month, the European edition of GT Academy 2015 kicked off in the hot and hazy climate of Abu Dhabi.

This year has been defined by an unending torrent of news that made it apparent that 2015 was the year of the racing game; a niche no longer it would seem as the genre has been exposed to more people in the past several months than it ever has been. This is no doubt something to marvel at as the genre is steadily approaching the point where it’s easily accessible to any and everyone regardless of their skill level. While that may cause seasoned veterans to turn their noses up at the very thought of their prized franchises becoming easier in lieu of attracting a larger audience, the one thing everyone has to remember is that those options, what many of us would define as “hardcore” are still going to be there for those of us that can’t live without them, and for those of us that want to dabble about and experience the full picture.

This past August, tragedy struck in IndyCar, when Justin Wilson was involved in a fatal accident at Pocono Raceway. It marked the second death in as many months in professional motorsports, with Jules Bianchi passing away the month previous due to injuries he suffered in 2014. In Bianchi’s case, it was the first death related to an on-track accident in F1 since Ayrton Senna’s in 1994; for Wilson, the first since Dan Wheldon in 2011.

Today, Sony has announced a significant price drop on the fast-selling PS4 and its numerous bundles, both existing and upcoming, in Canada and the US. These prices will go into effect tomorrow, October 9, just in time for the Thanksgiving weekend for those of us located in the Great White North.

A new batch of seasonal events are now available in Gran Turismo 6 showcasing this week’s super lap and drift trial challenges. The events feature GT3 class race cars, non-race cars, tuner cars, and race cars from 1999 or earlier. Codemasters have released the next major update for DiRT Rally, the team’s early access title currently available on PC, version 0.8, otherwise known as the Flying Finland Pack. With it comes 12 new high-speed stages from Finland, in addition to two brand new cars – the Subaru Impreza 2001 and Ford Focus RS Rally 2001.

News about the upcoming Gran Turismo feature film is sparse, but things are still moving forward behind the scenes. The Hollywood Reporter had more news late last week that brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber have joined the screenwriting production team.

As teased earlier last month, Assetto Corsa’s ‘Dream Pack 2’ DLC will introduce nine brand-new vehicles to the game as well as a laser-scanned version of Circuit de Catalunya, home of the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix. The cars included in Dream Pack 2 are as follows:

The Aston Martin Expansion Pack for Project CARS is now available as a part of Slighty Mad Studios’ “On Demand” efforts to continually keep the game feeling new with fresh monthly content, and this month’s content delivers handsomely by introducing three new Aston Martin racing machines: the Le Mans-winning 1959 DBR1, the V12-powered DBR1-2 LMP1 prototype, and finally the Vantage V8 GTE.

Eurogamer: You’ve got some great properties that would be a great fit for VR too. I’m thinking something like Gran Turismo. Would that make sense?

Since our last update 2 weeks ago, the WRS has been to Spa, the Nürburgring, and now Silverstone’s Stowe Circuit, for the first time in GT6.

The NISMO PlayStation GT Academy European Race Camp gets underway today at the Yas Marina Formula One circuit in Abu Dhabi today. The intensive, week-long racing driver boot camp sees 56 Gran Turismo gamers from 11 European countries gather in the United Arab Emirates’ capital city. They will compete for the chance to embark on Nissan’s all-encompassing Driver Development Programme and the chance to become a real racing driver, with Formula One technical genius Adrian Newey OBE on hand as head judge.

Since the GT6 “Track Path Editor” finally launched last week, GTPlanet users have been sharing thousands of their custom creations in our forums. It’s been difficult, though, to see who’s making the best tracks and how to download them for yourself – until now!

Summer no longer burdens me, for I am free to enjoy the crisp, brisk winds that usher in the final months of the year; autumn is here and as every year that has preceded, I couldn’t be happier. With September behind us things are beginning to calm down and return to a near-normal state, however, that wasn’t before the month ended on an unexpected high note: the Course Maker for Gran Tursimo 6 is now a thing you can use to your heart’s content!
