Peugeot Tease Vision Gran Turismo Concept Car

Peugeot Vision GT-5

Over the past week, French carmaker Peugeot has been slowly releasing images of what appears to be its Vision Gran Turismo project car. They kicked things off with the teaser video below, and have shown more of the car with the gradual release of images.

It’s interesting to note that there is still no official connection to Gran Turismo in these images, but their teasing has all the hallmarks of a company hyping their Vision GT project. Stay tuned for more developments…

GT6 has been out for 17 months and in 17 months PD didn’t ad one single “real car” in the game besides the inevitable Nismo GT-R, kaz’s fetish vehicle. If this is not a clear message like “sorry we don’t give 2 @@@@ anymore, i wonder what it is. How long until PCars is out?

You do realize that Project CARS has a significantly smaller car list, right? And I don’t mean having just one Skyline. There are no Chevrolets, Ferraris, Dodges, Toyotas and many others in CARS.

I had high hopes for CARS but I have no interest in buying a game that doesn’t have cars that I want to drive.

If there’s no official connection to the Vision GT program, isn’t it a bit early to assume that it just is? Normally something like this would throw up an obvious red flag, but remember the Onyx? Peugeot can come up with some pretty crazy concepts of their own accord.

If you switch the video to 1080p and pause on the 3D model scene (at around 10 seconds) you can clearly see files or model components on screen with the name “Vision GT” and all objects in the model tree also start with V

    2. Ben Rogue

Well, at least some of them start with V, but there are defiantly objects there with the Vision GT name

Wonder if they haven’t made the GT connection/put the GT logo anywhere, because they’re hesitant to associate with PD/GT, and want to promote themselves first – and the game second.

Anyone else notice the Golf GTI Vision that landed in DriveClub earlier this week? That car looks vaguely familiar to some VW in GT6. Hmm, wonder what’s going on around at Sony 1st party studios and licensing.

That Peugeot looks the part, very nice. Wonder what it sounds like?

The Golf dlc with Driveclub was a car that was shown actually months ago (and is a real car). As far as I am concerned, this does not have anything to do with PD, but it looks like VW wanted some extra coverage in GT6 with the release of another VisionGT car, and just recycled the design from the REAL Golf and just modified it as a new VisionGT car. So technically GT6 and Driveclub’s Golfs are 2 different cars (although virtually the same design).

It’s effectively the Onyx but with added flair, an Onyx GTI or Onyx T16, question is what powers it? 908 HDI FAP or maybe a turbo v16 which runs on shark blood

I like how much this car doesn’t look like— hey, what ever happened to that Course Creator?

  7. RodolphoPNeto

Ok, that looks really, really good. Very aggressive. Might be my new favourite if it handles as sharp as it looks.

Peugeot was one of the ones I was looking forward to most. Personally I think they’ve made some really nice concepts in the past.

Incrível sem dúvidas, belas linhas, aerofólio móvel, mas pelo visto sem interior premium

Personally i think it’s facking awesome to see the
brands edition of a super car….

….and what’s even better, you can drive it in-game :)

My favorites so far is the Mazda and Lexus.
    Sounds awesome and drives fast

For me, it’s the VW Supersport and the Mini Clubman. I like small cars that can get up and boogie!!

But I do like the other VGT cars too! They have all been quite outstanding – except that Mitsubishi thing…

    2. Lille B

I don’t mind the Mitsubishi that much though…

My “only” least favorite is the Aston Martin…don’t really know what the idea of that pile of gunk was…. :-/

I know that the Vision GT cars are a sore spot to many here, but I love many of them, and enjoy this opportunity to see future proof of concept cars in Gran Turismo FIRST! Before we even have a glimpse of them in the real world. In fact, the inspiration for them might not even be the same if the design teams hadn’t made them for real – true for the science fiction cars, obviously.

I want to see some real world cars too, or at least some more super Standards, particularly race cars, but this is a unique accomplishment for Kazunori-sensei that many people celebrate. Even around here. ;D

Oh yeah, nice peeks at the Peugeot. Looking forward to it.
