First Nissan GT-R LM Gran Turismo 6 Gameplay Videos

https://youtu.be/OzFvuioE9hM

The GT6 Update 1.19 update that rolled out early this morning included one of today’s hottest racing cars – the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO, which will be competing at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in just two weeks.

Although the rest of us will have to wait until Round 4 of GT Academy 2015 kicks off on Tuesday before we can start driving the car, a few players who have modified their PS3 consoles already have their hands on it, and have started posting videos and screenshots to give the rest of us a peek of what’s to come.

Check out the gameplay videos above, along with these screenshots from GTPlanet user Whistle Snap. As always, visit our GT6 forum for more discussion!

Looks like the car’s performing about 600pp. No offense but if so it’s unlikely to be a show that was believed once Le Mans kicks off.

It’s really annoying when people just naturally see the bad, the flaws… ‘i dont like it’, ‘sounds bad’… well, opinions are like a*holes, everyone’s got one, just like this comment… but nothing is ever good for some. Anyway, i’ll repeat what i said when i first saw this car – bonkers! Can’t wait to try it.

Ok sorry about that, its not the case here, i was reading comments somewhere else. Anywayyy, time for me to check it out.

Nice to get the car before the world, but it sounds awful to me. Doesn’t sound like a real car at all, sounds a lot like a copy/paste with slight tweaking from the Lotus and a lot like those videos you see of guys making car sounds using an aluminum can…lol.

I have to agree, the Mazda LMP/VGT sounded genuinely plausible (those backfires), but this ‘sound file’ or whatever they call it these days for the GTR-LMP does sound borrowed, or at the least not what I’d expect the real in-game sound to be.

Maybe it’s missing that ‘drivetrain-loading’ factor, a few of those shifts just didn’t seem right to my ears, almost generic.

I like this. I’m really looking forward to driving this car. It’s unusual freaks of nature like this and the Deltawing that keep Le Mans and motorsport interesting.

We don’t know yet. If you want to get the car, you can complete only 1 lap in Round 4 of GT Academy 2015, and it doesn’t matter if the lap is valid or invalid

Seems that it has the common FF wheelspin out of low gear corners. It has a nice sound and doesn’t seem to suffer from excessive understeer which is good. Can’t wait to drive it!

Engine sound is great. Seems like hiring that guy from Forza is already paying off. The most recent cars have all sounded great

It’s unlikely Mike Caviezel had anything to do with it.

All the AES stuff are still placeholders; one-offs. That’s why there are still so few of them, they’re extra content someone had to take time to make. The “real” (eventual) AES will use different presets, even for the cars that already use it, and Mike’s (sub-)team will be following a recipe determined by the years of research PD has already put into it, in order to create any still outstanding presets, e.g. for the newest cars being “made” (assuming his team isn’t on recording duty, or similar).

What he will bring is the ability to direct his team to meet (and balance) the aesthetic target and any fidelity requirements, having a wealth of experience in that regard to be able to isolate the important things and ignore the useless time sinks.

Yeah, I was going to say that the Nissan sounds nice. “Great” is being a bit optimistic. It sounds like it’s still using the same “old” audio processing the newer cars are getting, which is an improvement, and it’s much too early to see Mike making an impact yet. But I expect as GT7 comes along, for the real sound improvements to start “turning ears.”

So now the question is, will any work on GT7 be filtering down into GT6. My thinking is little to none because of how far Kaz and the team are pushing the PS3 in so many areas, but I’ll sure be happy to be surprised.

WTF!! nissans 20 sec slower than Porsche and audi yesterday testing season very interesting..

    1. micantony

They were probably taking it easy in the rain. They may not have even turned any dry laps like the other teams did early in the session.

    2. micantony

      found some info:
“The debuting Nissan GT-R LM NISMOs failed to crack the top-15 overall, with a 3:43.383 lap time set by Olivier Pla early in the day standing as the quickest of the front-engined, front-wheel drive prototypes.

Pla’s time was more than 20 seconds adrift from the pace-setting Porsches, following a challenging day for the Japanese manufacturer, which saw two of its cars stop on track, one which brought out a red flag.” from sportscar365.com

    3. Primius Lovin

Actually, they were about 30 seconds slower than the top LMP1 cars.
My guess is that they were running the car without the hybrid system, so with just about 550hp from the engine…

    4. etonnement

A few reasons it was slower.

The car’s so unique it has specially developed tires with Michelin- they didn’t have time to develop qualifying tires like everyone else has, which are made for two balls out laps. They only have tires made to last four stints, because they’re focused on the race.

It was also damp so they didn’t want to push it.

The cars are also new (the third, retro-liveried car hadn’t run until literally the day before) so they chose to use the testing time to run-in and develop the cars instead of pre-qualify.

But despite it not putting up great lap times, the two fastest straight-line trap times of the day were GT-R LMs. So they’re still really fast even if they aren’t….fast.

Intriguing. It appears that FF wheel spin will be a problem. Looks like a good challenge! ;)

    1. Ben Rogue

I guess that’s why this car has multiple TCS in real life. I wonder how they managed the hybrid system in GT6, as they haven’t even decided how to run it at LM yet, hope they can send the electric power yo the rear to get a better balance of power, there’s only so much you can do with an FF drivetrains before it becomes a right mess!
