Has anyone had any issues with Tommy78's DTM cars. I've had a few that looked fine in CM Showroom but then when you take them out on track their wheels are missing, all you can see is the car floating and it's brake discs. I know the Opel Evo500 is one car I was having issues with this morning, and I believe the Mercedes (I quickly ran through them this morning before heading to work so can't totally remember off the top of my head). I'm hoping it's just some errant CSP option...

Yeah, I noticed this while reinstalling some mods recently. Pretty sure it's specifically the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 DTM 1989 I had a problem with, specifically the ones with BBS wheels, and I'm wondering if there's some errant typo or error in the skins' ext_config.ini that I'm not catching.

It's the kn5-files for the wheels that for some reason can't be found. Works fine here, be sure to copy all files and folder from the original archive to get all files where they need to be. Personally, I think it's a bad practise to arrange the extension files in this way like Tommy and some others do. It's much better and tidier to keep everything in the car's extension folder, instead of the global extension folder.

It’s a shame we don’t get to see more Super Silhouette cars in AC. They’re one of the coolest in motorsport history.

Also, anyone know of good mods of SS?

There are these two, and there is also a Bluebird of ok-ish quality, and the group 5 Celica from DRM Revival was also used in the Super Silhouette series, same car. It was a rather short lived series, so there aren't really many more cars to choose from there. Any specific car(s) you're thinking of?

Edit: The BMW M1 Turbo was also used, found in the DRM Revival pack. Perhaps other cars from the same pack as well, I'm not 100% up to speed on all the cars that competed in the Super Silhouette series, other than that they used the same group 5 regulations as DRM and a couple of other series.

Personally, I just want the LP560 GT3 from that game to fill in my late 2000s early 2010s FIA GT3 line up. One of the most popular GT lambos and my favorite from that era. NFS:S2 has one as well and is in higher quality too, but no one cares sadly. Would be a nice addition.

Anyone else have issues with the crowd at some of Fat Alfie's tracks? Feldburgring, Fortney and Deutschlandring all have this issue when the sun is behind them they go complete black. But when the sun is in front of them they are normal? I assume its something related to CSP or Pure given its been a long time since the track was released. I tried to compare with the crowd from his other tracks that are not having this issue using object inspector but it won't let me select them. Anyone know of a fix?

2. Has anyone tried this Weather mod called StormX? it apparently works as a lua app which works in conjuction with csp and pure and improves wet weather physics and visuals

Try turning off the CSP option 'New Spectator Rendering Method'. I think it's under the Track Adjustments options.

No problem on CSP 0.2.11

Go to ...\extension\config and open up track_adjustments.ini, it is hidden there. Put a 0 instead of 1. You also can remove the ; in front to have it shown in CM.

Go into the corresponding skin folder and disable the included ext_config.ini, since it most likely breaks up with the parent ext_config.ini. Should help in your case.

Thanks to you both for the tips, I tried this setting but no difference still get the fully blacked out spectators. I tested that config file by choosing the hide all option which worked so my AC is reading the setting from that config file.

Any other ideas? My guess might be that they are compatible anymore with latest CSP?

Exactly. Another great driving experience that I had was a Peugeot 205 GTI. It's not fast by today's standards but there's no way you can get that analog feel of pure driving with modern cars anymore. It FEELS fast and that's the only thing that matters.

I've driven a Tesla Ludicrous and Panamera Turbo S and sure they're way faster but they feel sterile and boring in comparison. And get any new 911, they are so fast that you can't even enjoy them on the normal roads anymore. My brothers old 1982 SC feels absolutely amazing at 80 km/h on a curvy roads... the sounds, the feeling, the raw sensation when you switch and you hear that chainsaw noise of the air cooled engine... amazing. Take a new 911 and you have to drive 180 km/h to get the same sensation. Sure they are "better" in every measurable way but pure driving has nothing to do with the numbers.

I'm past 40 so I still remember when the top speed and acceleration was a big thing. The difference between Porsches and Ferraris to standard family cars was astronomical. Now any standard soccer mom SUV/sedan/wagon with a hybrid engine can out-accelerate most cars that were considered fast in the 90's.

Sure Porsches and Ferraris are still from the other planet when it comes to track times and all that... but top speed and acceleration are pretty much meaningless now. Nobody cares anymore.

New AMG's have 1000 hp, where does it end? At the same time these cars weigh way over 2000 kg, even 2500 kg and have as much electric componets as a nuclear plant. My dad has a newish hybrid BMW SUV with airmatic and I wouldn't touch that car with a ten foot pole. It's a ticking time bomb and an endless money pit when it ages. Sure they're ok as long as you have warranty but the repairs and potential issues make them pretty much useless after 10 years. Repair bills exceed the value of the car very soon after 5-7 years of use and I'm not even sure those cars are repairable as the technology goes forward so much.

Think about those big screens when they break. You have to strip off the whole dash and sometimes half of the car to change them. And some new cars don't even have buttons anymore, it's all controlled by those touch screens. I'm sure those are nice in our -20C winter weather hehe. Can you imagine those cars being around as long as your Honda CRX? No way.

Personally I think 1990's was the peak of cars. And early 2000's when the galvanized bodies started to come. Still relatively simple and cheap to fix by yourself. New cars don't sell and the car industy is in trouble and classic cars are more desirable than ever. And even with the standard family cars... in Finland people pay more for a reliable old Volvo V70s and Toyota Avensis' than they did 5-6 years ago... because people have realized how bad the new cars are. You can get 500K kilometers from a V70 easily with some maintenance. Sure it's a boring car but it definitely beats paying four figure bills all the time.

Ferrari and Porsche hybrid models values drop like a rock. New hybrid engines alone cost way more than 50-70K for those cars. I'd stay away.

This one is a little more difficult and may not make a difference, but you could edit the camera_facing.ini file and increase the AMBIENT and/or DIFFUSE values for each entry. One of the values mean darker shadowing (can't remember which one though). If the values were higher, the shadow side might not be as dark.

Worth a try but make sure you make a copy of the original camera_facing file first.

Gabenhood for sure. I personally, for own taste, completely reworked (but never shared) it, but his version is quite good.

I drive a 1989 Citroën Ax and I completely agree. I am currently saving up to buy a Lotus Elise S1 111S.

I would love to see the Bluebird in a better quality. Also, there’s the March and Skyline Turbo C (which is the spiritual predecessor to all Nissan Group C projects), the RX-7 was also a beauty in those regulations and probably the strangest, for lack of a better word, Simca Rallye Maxi Turbo. The Lotus Europa is also another beast, but with the lack of information about it is very hard to get deep into it.

Crazy to think that those cars were faster than F1 at the time. Basically they were a test ground to what Group C became.

Also, I was looking for the Skyline in FSR patreon and couldn’t find at a first look. He really ported this one?

With the update, I see all the headlights black in the showroom. On the track, only the front ones appear black. 🤷‍♂️


It's probably my favorite Porsche, it's beautiful in GT2 version 🔥 🏎. The "gtsupreme" mod isn't bad in my opinion, it's decent.

There is a 993 GT2 Evo made by Taisen Performance too, which recently came out and is really nice.

Here is version 1.0 for DumbAI (needs CSP 0.3.0 preview 212 to work , with extended physics allowed)

In short, this app overrides the AC/CSP behavior for pit stop strategies and adds a blue flag behavior.

Used in a qualifying session, DumbAI ensures that bots will go on track after waiting a random amount of time, with the softest tyres compounds and fuel for only 5 laps, to perform a 3-4 laps run. Each bot maintains this loop while the session is not over.

Used in a race session, DumbAI first performs an assessment for tyre strategy then a second one for fuel pitstop strategy, computing the amount of fuel needed for the race, estimating the number of stints needed, according to fuel_cons.ini, the size of the fuel tank, the fuel multiplier set at the start of the race and the lenght of the race.

About fuel strategy, if the fuel consumption rate is not 0, after having computed a first pitstop strategy with a starting amount of fuel at the start of the race, AI checks in "real time" its fuel level so that to stop before there is less than one lap of fuel in the car. Then it recomputes its fuel strategy according to the remaining lap count in the race. This allows bots to adjust the amount of fuel they add in the car as fuel_cons.ini is always a bit pessimistic and the DumbAI computation at the start of the race has a 10% margin (with a random variable to make bots a bit more "individuals" ).

About tyres strategy, the basic behavior is to use the user-defined default tyre compound for the race. It ensures that if raining, the bot will keep the default tyre compound once the track has dried and it has got back to pit to put slick tyres. If tyres wear has been selected by the user, the bot checks in "real time" its 4 wheels and trigger the pitstop when they wear at the same level as the level that leads to a red value in the UI of vanilla AC. Before triggering the pitstop event, the AI checks if a fuel pitstop is not expected for the near next laps so that it can wait a bit with its old tyres to merge both pitstops.

If the user has checked the "mutiple compound strategy" in the UI, AI will know it has to make a mandatory pitstop to change tyre compound during the race, whatever the conditions. In this 1.0 version, until refinement, AI just change its tyre compound at the first available pitstop (either triggered due to tyre wear, refuel or damage). If no pitstop are performed for other reason, AI will make a pitstop just before there is only 4 laps remaining in the race, to change the compound. If it has rained during the race, the alternating of slick and wet tyres is considered as conform to the rules.

If the user has also checked "alternative strategy", as in older version of the app, the bad qualified racers try to make a first run with a softer or harder compound than the others, according to user selected "default" compound. (Fuel strategy adjustments under development ;-) )

DumbAI also checks for damage during the race and triggers pitstop if front or rear body or suspension are too much damaged. AI automatically change tyres and recomputes fuel during this pitstop due to damage.

The blue flag behavior is basically the same as in older version, just a bit optimized both for computing efficience and code simplicity

Both the brakes and tyres are very dependent on having the right temperature. Cold tyres = crash. Cold brakes = crash. I think they are some of the most entertaining cars to drive. I mentioned it before, but when i have friends over, I usually put them in a group 5 car on vintage Sebring and offers beer to the first who can manage a clean lap.

Thanks for idea, after a bit of trial error this evening I got a good enough result for both Deutschlandring & Feldburgring. I don't think its perfect at twilight hours with the sun facing the crowd very slightly a little bright. But I think I'm getting diminishing returns and want to keep some dynamics for the other lighting conditions.

Big difference specificly for Deutschlandring was to extract the "original textures" within the data folder to replace the crowd and livestock textures. The default ones I think tuned to an old version of SOL and don't play well with Pure LCS. However there is exception, SOL 'debris' textures work best for some reason, so extract this seperatly alongside the vanilla for the rest.

I've attached my camera facing ini for both tracks, rename back to .ini and then replace with original files if anyone has same issue wants to try out my fix.

As mentioned by others on this thread, deleting the ext_config files from the skin folders gets rid of the wheels missing issue. I now have tyres on my race car!
