Well, I cant accept a Suzuki Cervo and Fiat 500 Being Premium, while cars maybe like an Old Toyota Supra wont :grumpy:

I think that Standard Cars Will have the Dashboard and maybe front seats, but wont have rear panels, seats and all those details. IMO that would be a great solution for Standard Cars.

This.

They said premium cars will have the detail down to the stitching. Standard cars will likely have generic cockpits. There will probably be a generic cockpit for production cars, Le Mans, etc. etc, so it's not TOO silly. So we're not seeing the EXACT cock-pit for cars of different genres.

No, even that would be terrible. They only have one option really. Make all cars fully detailed, or leave out the cars that aren't, simple as that.

Don't forget pd don't have to model 1000 interiors as many cars(specificly racing cars) have very similar and sometimes the same interiors so they can just edit the details into a basic interior which saves time and is still very accurate.

If you use a wheel, cockpit view is just stupid.

Do cars have two steering wheels? No.

True, but ive always wished they would include the cockpit view without the wheel for those of us using one.

This is all common sense stuff that I cant believe PD isnt taking into consideration. They are taking it easy on GT5, but by the time they wanna announce GT6 they will have no slack to play with.

Or, they could do what the are doing, and make 200 cars really detailed, and the other 800 not so detailed. Accept it, move on.

:tdown:In what demented universe is that better?

If you don't like the "semi-detailed" cockpit view, then simply don't use it.

Some people are frustrating.:ouch:

Yes, and if that's what they have done, they're the oddest pack of developers there is, and they will have to take a lot of **** for it.

worst news ever for me.

they said that 800 cars are upscaled form gt4/gtpsp and be compared to the level of forza and project.. are they ****ing kidding me!!? it's like having 2 different games running togheter

and only 200 cars out 1000 with cockpit?! with 30 of them being identical nascar, 20 identical skylines and 5 crap cars like capuccino, cercvo etc... in 6 years, no way!

800 out of 1000! they would be destroyed if they release a game that for more than the half of the cars it's a gt4 hd after 6 year.

My feeling exactly. Mixing cars of two different levels of detail is just the strangest thing. I mean... why???

I'd rather have only the 200 fully detailed ones than mixing the two types together, as I think it will look funny, and I will never use any of the lower detailed ones either.

As Kazunori began speaking, aided by a translator, we learnt that Gran Turismo 5 would have over 1000 cars in its tally. Over 800 of which fall into the standard cars list, offering casual through to sports car models, many of which make a welcome return from previous GT games. The other 200+ are premium model cars, each one beautifully recreated from the engine outwards to satisfy any petrol-head.

Although all of the cars are perfectly modelled, the premium cars offer little extra touches of detail that the standard cars don't. For example, only the premium cars have fully recreated interiors and the standard cars aren't designed to take structural damage in crashes. Asking why this was the case, Kazunori honestly replied that it was simply down to the painstaking amounts of time it takes to re-create them all. When you see the level of detail, it's amazing they were able to do even 200 of them

in this article the situation is different. less detailed for 800 and fully detailed interior, engine and damage for 200. this makes sense,

That's very easy to say when you yourself claim not to use it or aren't even bothered by its possible exclusion ( which I have yet to see being fully proven either way ).
It's not the same thing like Porsche being excluded ( which was a pity, but it wasn't due to any choice made by PD but purely a licence issue ) which I got over very quickly.
If 800 cars have no interiors ( which again I find hard to believe somehow ) this will become apparant each time you play the game by different cars having different features, unlike the absent Porsche which will only bother you perhaps if you're a hardcore Porsche fan who was fully expecting it to be in GT5 but otherwise not affecting the gameplay for all other cars included.
If this happens to be true I might eventually have to accept it, but not before being grumpy for 4 months which I hope I will not have to go through.:)

Then do that. But the majority of people here I think wouldn't mind a less detail cockpit for the other 800 cars. Just because you're angry. :indiff:

I still do not understand the whole Porsche thing... How is there a licensing issue??? How come forza 3 can have them but GT5 will most likely not.

I hope someone demands to see what standard car and especially the interior on those looks like.

Yes, please.

I would very much like a comparison of what a "standard" car entails, when compared to a "premium" car and vice versa.

A standard cockpit with less detail is ok with me. No cockpit is a bummer.

I remember an interview where Kaz stated he hates releasing his games because he feels they need more work. If there's no cockpits for 800 cars, hecmust be devastated.

Where do you read less detail cockpit? It says there will be no interior at all, and that the 800 "Standard" cars will be upscaled GT4 cars.

I think the statement on top describes the best answer right now.

This issue really needs to be addressed to Kaz at E3. Everybody should somehow try and get this across, so every journalist/website/person at e3 knows GTPlanet wants a question asked and answered!

I don't see 800 of the cars not having a cockpit view. I think by "interior" PD means the parts of the car under the hood and body panels, and not the interior that we think of as the cockpit. This has been discussed in other threads, and I have a feeling we will know for sure by the end of tomorrow.

We do have a way. tonight at 6 G4TV has a live demo and interview with GT5. They have a live tweet going on so if we all tweet them to ask the questions maybe they will.

everybody that tunes in should twitter the exact same thing. The same question worded exactly the same, I'm sure if there's 100 tweets with the same question, it will be asked!

I know this is GTPlanet, and it wouldnt be the same without a bit of specualtion bla bla... but the writer said the word porsche! AND, the interview was spoken in Japanese. There is one obvious mistake right there, and lots of room for miss communication and interpretation too. No one knows for sure about these details, and I'm actually quite shocked people are still unsatisfied with GT5. Literally astounded!!

In my opinion the 'interior' (pending confirmation of correct interpretation/translation) pertains to some kind of interior photo mode, or possibly to the detail of an engine bay or something like that. I've said it before but there is no way PD would include a cockpit view at all if you couldnt use it throughout all of the cars available. I wouldnt be happy with that, so do you think Kaz would!? Exactly.

Anyway, the thing i came in here to ask was... Did eurogamer have exclusive access to this interview or are we waiting on other write ups to surface? I'd like to know where i should be placing my attention ;) Thanks for any info 👍
