Well it appears even with a wheel, I'm still useless. I've got the same car and matching specs as Flyingfox, but I'm 6 seconds slower.
After a lot of frustating moments with the 2000GT (a car chosen with my heart rather than my head), I've decided to switch to the 250 GTB, a car I'm at least familiar with (and fast too)...
I dont think the Ferrari is too fast. Lancer is really quick at Daytona and. I the Ferrari, renew he could challenge Nin last season for wins.
I'm only 1mph faster than the Fords...Straight line performance needs a small cut, but not a big one.
I was running low downforce. Couldn't keep up with the fords in any cornersStraight line performance needs a small cut, but not a big one.
@snowgt had some base set ups, need to link them. @FlyingFox can help with set ups.
Updated entry to follow.
@RACECAR if you're using the base set up provided by Snow you need a softer set up for Daytona.
What made you turn away from it @Yeratel84? As I originally was going to drive the Toyota, I'm curious if I should stay away from it.

Let's put it like this. In my opinion, you need a good gear setup and a smooth driving style. If you can do that, the Toyota is a weapon. I've only watched Yera do a couple of laps yesterday, but he seemed to be struggling to throw the car into the corners. Maybe it doesn't suit his driving style, which, if I'm not mistaken, is a little more on the aggressive side.
I was a little scared though when I saw Jammy do a 56.5 in the Mustang. That, and the reported time at Bathurst seem to suggest that either he or the car is too quick.![]()
The race hasn't happened yet, it was just a test last nightSorry I wasn't there @Furinkazen. I got DC'd then kept getting Network Incompatability with the Server with every room. I gave up, sorryI'll be attending Spa if all goes well

I know it was, but y'knowThe race hasn't happened yet, it was just a test last night
I don't know about the aggressive side, but yes, my driving style apparently doesn't suit the Toyota (either that or I just couldn't find a proper setup that fit me)... the car understeers too much for my liking, and I've always favoured handling over straight line speed...
As for Jammy's time, I was scared at first too, but after only 3 laps in the GTB, in the night session, I was able to reach a 56.9, and that was with S7 setup on it which needs a tweak on the LSD (kept going sideways on corner exit way too easily because of the extra torque and weight reduction)
And I saw @FlyingFox did 1.56.8 in night session.
I did again 1.56.5 also in night. That seems to be my top.
...
Yeah, scary. You sure that was a legal car?
...
Yes I was. I did tested all those parts (propeller, Clutch&flywheel, etc - no power parts) that could be added to car in private room but they didn't seem to make any difference.
Racing brakes were much better than default ones.
I thought we weren't allowed to use racing brakes...![]()
Good to see @FlyingFox feeling well in his Vette, too.![]()

At the start, I was doing some consistent 2'00" laps. When I saw @jammy21's fastest lap, I was like...@CAMikaze was there later in night session. What times you did with Mustang?
I then decided to have a look at Jammy's driving and how he attacks the track. Those who were there when I was there may have heard my uttering out some of the differences between his racecraft and mine. I then went to the settings and increased the number by 1 on both front and rear brakes. After that I went back on the track and tried a couple of things to try to get my lap time down such as lifting lightly off of the gas going through Turn 4 a.k.a. the Infield Kink instead of coasting through it and braking and going into the Bus Stop Chicane in 3rd gear instead of 2nd. There's a couple of other ideas I tried out that I don't want to tell you about just yet. Also, having a tune from a rather well known tuner on the GTPlanet forums doesn't hurt either.CAMikaze
