What a JOKE!
Anyone on this forum is going to buy the game day 1.

Bottom line, PD & Sony can take a dump all over us as much as they want... because they know, regardless of anything, we are all drooling at the mouth, waiting to pounce on the purchase like pack of wild animals. Anyone saying they aren't going to purchase GT5 is simply admitting that they are a little baby helpless tiny insignificant hamster which is unable to deal with the realities of life (AKA, your opinions and desires mean nothing to PD & Sony). Awwwww, look at how cute, running in their exercise wheels, sipping at their little water bottle........

Feeling all high and mighty over a video game, are we?

Have you ever thought to consider that other people have lives aside from prowling internet forums for every little tidbit of GT5 info, all the while looking day after day at a calender, checking off the days until November 2nd? I know I've canceled my preorder because I could use that money on other things instead of false promises. I'll still buy GT5, but used off Amazon.

If GT5 for some reason is pushed into next year then I won't get it, but since it sounds like that won't happen, then yeah i'm still buying it.

That's funny, I haven't played a GT game in atleast a year, I don't own a PS3 and I'm certainly not going to be buying the game the first day it comes out. And hell, I might even buy it second hand when I do, just to prove a point.

Lets face it, anyone who cares enough about the delay to post here cares enough about the game to at least buy it. Emotions are still running high, especially considering the relative unknown state of the release date. People want a way to express their disgust with this latest revelation, but im pretty sure at least 99% of people posted here will get the game.:dopey:
Haha yes they will

yes im going to buy it!! (CE is preorderd!) what are some weeks, after so many years of waiting!?! ;)

If you want and or like the game like most people on this site do, then you will buy it regardless. Sure You can be upset at the delays, but lets face it, nobody that loves GT enough to join a fan-made site, constantly looking for updates and the latest news can come out and say, I think I wont buy this game. If you truly mean it, then Terminate your account here at GTPlanet, because you will no longer be interested. Secondly, Its true that many people are acting like 10 year olds. Patience is key to success. I was actually glad GT5 got delayed because I thought they would put in even more content. Unfortunately today was the real let down, when I saw that it may have just been because of production issues. Its like a friend calling you and asking if you wanted to go to the park, and he doesn't show up at the exact time he said he would because he may have been backed up from traffic or another issue arose. Would you just get up and leave back to your house? or would you wait for/or make a phone call? Everything happens for a reason. If your friend shows up late, it happened for a reason... GT5 was delayed for a reason. Show some sympathy, because its a really hard job pulling off a project as big as GT5, Im sure none of you could succeed in the amount of organization and hard work it needs to do it.

Majority of people here will buy it, even though some say they wont.
You joined this site because you love GT, Your not going to just throw it away.
Deal with your anger, were all upset, but don't act like a 10 year old.

*Mind the "You", Targeted to those who say they will not purchase the game.

Regardless of the current situation I still have faith in it being released sometime soon, so, yeah I have it on preorder. :)

the more people that this delay weeds out, the better. I'm sure the people canceling their orders would have been more of a hindrance in online racing, than truly competitive opponents. nobody with such a lack of patience can ever hope to be a competent racer.

Well a nice thing they can do to compensate alle these delays shoulde be a good freeware DLC support toghether with the usual $$$ DLC.. In example, convert a standar car to a premium one every month or every 2 weeks..

Your right but you have to realize that Kaz isn't too comfortable with that, or he seems like he isnt. By releasing those kind of constant free updates he thinks he hasn't created a complete game. Spec updates aren't bad, But those don't come every 2 weeks. They come maybe once every year.

This delay however defenitely isn't because of content. Im sure they're already Working on GT6, to the point where they may only have a dozen people ironing out GT5.

But I don't know, just think.

Regardless of what they nay sayers might believe. Come launch day/week they will still be purchasing the game. If they've taken the time to be on this board and read any of the gt5 threads that means they are already hooked on it. Saying no would be like saying no to sex, or crack, or both...it's not gonna happen!

What if that friend has a history of arriving late despite him telling each time he's just around the corner when he's no way near and forgets to set his alarm clock each time and simply underestimates the time it takes to get dressed, etc. and how long it will take him to get to the park?

I would be extremely pissed as I can't stand these types in general, unless they make for such good company ( which he does ) to hang around with but even then there's a limit.
Unfortunately in this context or analogy he's my only friend and the other option is to be lonely as he's the only person left alive in this world ( and I won't go into the parallel world ).
Or whatever.......everything doesn't happen for a reason ( which sounds way too religious to me ) but each action has consequences, especially mistakes.

Now does that mean I won't buy GT5 the first day? Ofcourse not.
Does that mean I will try to find excuses for this situation? Nope, PD simply screwed up their deadline after having all the time and resources they could wish for ( maybe they take it for granted too much ).
It's a business providing a great product to me ( hopefully ) at this point, nothing more.

i agree. if your on this site, you will buy regardless. i am a day one buy for sure. i have best buy's in town that do day one midnight openings all the time. you can bet i will be in the top 10 standing in line. i won't pre order though. it is possible that the store could have shipping problems and won't have the game unitl day 2, not acceptable in my book.(happened with GOD3) i want a day one supplier.

the most disappointing thing is, that i had days lined up to be off from work, now they will have to be shifted around, but to what dates, we don't know. i am a little heart broken though to be honest. i have highly anticipated this since that march postponement. I have built my g27 w/custom seat back in June ready for this.

Yup, i agree, this isnt the first delay. If it was, I'm sure most people wouldnt really care. But this cronic stuff on behalf of Sony, and frankly, I'm fed up with it. Will I buy GT5, yes, but my respect for sony and PD has gone down the toilet. Lots of unprofessionalism being shown here, and if GT5 had actual competition on the PS3, you can bet I along with many would not consider buying GT5 again.

got my refund, still plan to get a used one, no problem waiting a few weeks, just dont feel they deserve an extra sale for the ******** delay

I'm quoting you but this isn't directly aimed you. This is just my opinion on why we should all buy the game whether or not there is a delay. Bear with me as I'm going to rant...

Obviously, I don't know exactly what's going on with PD and Sony but from the all the news I've read today, I believe that Kaz and his team genuinely didn't mean for this delay to happen. I know it's frustrating for everyone and some of us feel cheated but we have to understand that Kaz isn't like other game developers. He's a perfectionist and some would say that's his fault. I would say otherwise. I think the delay was caused because Kaz doesn't want to let go of GT5. He wanted to keep going and squeezing in as many tiny tweaks as he could before being forced to go gold by Sony. The trouble is, he went a little too far and he knew it.

Kaz loves Gran Turismo more than you and I ever will. He has put his life into it and has tried to make the one fantasy we all have become as real as he can make it. I've never known or read about any other game developer with this much passion and it's for this reason why I'm supporting him and purchasing the game whenever it comes out.

So, let's not all wish our lives away by watching the clock tick by to whenever the next release date is. Between now and the new release date, do something race related you've never done before. Rent a track day car, do an endurance go-kart race or test drive a Ferrari. I think you'll appreciate why Kaz has taken so long.

Kaz is a professional, and he gets paid millions to do this. His customers have certain expectations and this is unacceptable. Also, like many have said before, this isnt just one delay, its one in a long sequence of events. If he was getting paid the average man's salary, or non at all, I would have tremendous respect for him.
