GT6 Quick Match Races Celebrate Le Mans With Prototypes & Group C Cars

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know this is a big weekend for the world of motorsports, as the 24 Hours of Le Mans kicks off on Saturday. To help celebrate the event, Polyphony Digital has added two special new Quick Match race events to Gran Turismo 6, which feature both the old and new versions of Circuit de la Sarthe.

The main event features prototypes – including Nissan’s GT-R LM NISMO – which have been tuned for “Balance of Performance”, or BoP, to help keep the racing close.

Another race features yesterday’s Group C beasts, which will run on the old version of the track without the chicanes on the Mulsanne straight. As always, stop by our GT6 Seasonal & Quick Match Events forum for more analysis and discussion!

on another note … PD should ban the GSX R / 4 in 450 races, because every time I want to race in that category almost everyone uses that car and that piss me off because i want to use a diferent car but every one is using the GSX and is almost imposible to beat that car. So… yeah the solution is use the same car righ? But every one using the same f****** car is booooring as hell.

Well, there’s also people using the RX500 (another top tier machine). Banning both will eventually make people return to Focus RS ’02 again.

@templarnot4 and others, you got it right… it’s terrible, everytime i try these quick matches i see this sort of bs… got disconnected from it anyways, another thing that happens more than often with me…

The amount of people cutting the ford chicanes is stupid i went from 4 secs ahead to 2 secs behind because i didn’t cut the chicane on the last lap

pCars has the same problem. I managed to avoid all the idiots wrecking in the first lap and made it into first place, and some scumbag named vScourgev cut the final chicane, somehow didn’t get penalized for it and spent the rest of the race crashing me off the track. Easy win ruined because i didn’t cut the track like he did.

It’s horribly unchecked is what. I want to see a Forza grass mechanism in place at those chicanes to keep cutters from winning. (Forza grass for those unfamiliar is a bit of the track in a popular cutting spot that is coded to immediately grind a cutter to a very low speed, with poor traction. This code usually drops cars to about 20 MPH within a matter of seconds.

I’d personally prefer as much as possible an effective penalty & DQ system rather than altering tracks.

A combination of penalties as high as a DQ for blatant cut that doesn’t involve contact would be welcome in any game.
