Kazunori Yamauchi Comments on Possibility of Interlagos Circuit in GT6

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b4Q8-bjRpHU

In a press conference last Thursday, Kazunori Yamauchi discussed the day’s announcement regarding the inclusion of Ayrton Senna content in Gran Turismo 6.

paceOf course, speculation immediately turned to the possible inclusion of Interlagos (now known as Autódromo José Carlos Pace), home to the Brazilian Grand Prix and a circuit which played a critical role in Senna’s career.

Kazunori Yamauchi acknowledged the track in comments to Brazilian news agency UOL Jogos, but stopped short of fully confirming it will appear in GT6: “Interlagos is a racetrack that was important in the life of Senna, it is important that this circuit is present.”

He addressed further questions about the content, stating that “I still can not confirm whether we have the life of Senna after this period as the Instituto Ayrton Senna only owns the rights to his image until 1987.”

Off topic. . .
Today i had the opportunity of driving the Pagani Huayra at the Silverstone track. This was at a Gt6 demo stand held at the Nasrec Johannesburg Motor show. The detail of the car looks amazing. Track detail is still the same as the 2013 Gt6 demo. Cant comment on the sound as it was rather noisey at the booths.

Something to note:

brunooow posted the following link and then a partial translation below:

http://g1.globo.com/tecnologia/games…-produtor.html

From Kaz about Senna in GT6:

“First we will include the tracks that he used to race on kart and maybe the tracks and cars from Formula 3. Later, on Formula 1, the first races that he made a pole position. I hope to be able to include the majority of these events for the players to enjoy, or even racing against Ayrton”.

The article also says that all these content will be DLC, though it doesn’t say whether it will be paid or not.

“Kazunori Yamauchi Trolls on Possibility…”

FTFY, seriously, just a month and some change to go, either confirm it or leave it as a surprise. At least that way we don’t get our hopes up before an impending disappointment.

1. sayba2th

All the tracks that are going to be there on release day have been announced. This would be as DLC 100%, this may very well be the 1st of DLC tracks offered. I understand your desire for confirmation of the track and I would go as far as to say this will make it due to his comment of “it is important that this circuit is present.” There are other things to announce before this gets confirmed I would think now.

@ Sang yeah brah I hear ya!

1. Mr C5 Z06 Vette

Ya! But, don’t forget road atlanta, sebring, lime rock, and most important to me Mosport aka Canadian tire motorsports park aka CTMP.
Oh i almost forgot circuit dr gilles villenueve in montreal

4. stucar17

Screw interlagos, it would be nice, but how about a network that will continue to work each week. Not be fine one week, the after an update messed up the next…….We all want GT6. and new stuff that comes with it, but when your lobby works great for months, then all of a sudden drops out and causes issues for other racers, we dont really care about what “might” be in the game.

5. Aloha62_2

It would be nice if told us what was actually in the game rather then something that ‘may’ be included ‘some time in the future’.

1. research

based on the way things are going, and comments made by Kaz (track DLC every month) and Lucas Ordonez (hat falling off due to number of tracks in GT6) I believe that we may see all tracks from GT PSP returning.

Apricot Hill (duh)
Seattle
El Capitan
Ricardo Tormo (Valencia)
Sonoma (Infineon)
Mid-Field
Cathedral Rocks 1,2,3
Swiss Alps
Tahiti Maze
Citta di Aria
Costa di Amalfi
Grand Canyon
Motorland (great for karts)
New York
Opera Paris
Seoul City Circuit

…or maybe I am tripping on peyote cactus..

2. Johnnypenso

Nice wish list but that’s all it is at this point. One is confirmed, the others we know nothing about. If PD holds true to their promise of “one track per month”, it’s not likely that many of those will be real world tracks, so best guess would be that many of them will come from that list. At this point though, like with most of GT6 it’s purely guesswork. I expect we’ll be paying for most of them too so be prepared.

3. TokoTurismo

I’m getting that feeling it might be. For real world tracks that’s just impossible, but for made up tracks hmm.

4. Johnnypenso

We can agree on that then Toko…lol. I might be the only one, but although I would like to see many original tracks return to the game, I’d also like to see some new ones brought to life with the same flair and originality that the list above had.

6. Darkpitiless

Wow big deal ! Stop wasting my time reading this bull crap and take a minute commenting on the usual poor car list.

7. AAR_CobraJet

I’m ready for this thing! Alot of good news rolling in and I’m clinging to the tail end of the hype train with all my might.

8. SVT Cobra GT

Hmm. The institute only holds his image until 1987. We have seen a Lotus 99T on the Goodwood sculpture which was the last Lotus F1 car he drove before moving to McLaren. Am I the only one putting 2 and 2 together?

1. Magic Ayrton

Well you can’t expect them to resist the urge to reel people in.. Very much doubt we will get post 1987 because it involves Mclaren and a whole host of expensive licensing.. would be nice to have any of Senna’s F1 cars in the game to be honest.. just can’t see that happening right now.

9. Chrix12

I just have to get this out there.

People complaining about GT vacuum sounds. I have tested lots of cars with different parts on them, and what I can conclude from that, gears and exhaust have the biggest impact on the sound. Of course you get vacuum sounds if you install fully customisable gears and racing exhaust (at least on most cars). Most importantly, the gears give a clear vacuum sound on every car. For the last couple hundred cars I have bought (680+ in garage), I have tried all the exhaust on them to hear how it sounds and picked the best. On some cases, 2 or 3 of the exhaust sounds good. But on most cases, full racing exhaust is the worst and most vacuum-ish.

I personally use stock transmission and exhaust on most of my cars if possible (there are exceptions), unless I want better performance for some reason (like adjust the gears for drifting). Though some cars sound good with sport or semi- or full racing exhaust.

Just go and try yourself.

Some improvement would be nice though, and that they are trying to do for GT6. I am very interested to see the results.

But on topic: I’d like to drive this track.

1. TomBrady

No dude. No combination of parts or anything in GT5 make the cars sound like vacuum’s. People who say that are delusional, and probably either have disgustingly messy carpets or don’t even on a vacuum because that is not what a vacuum sounds like

2. jlmcmillan1978

You’ve gotta be kidding haven’t you? How about both of you drive a stock Renault Megane (for one) & tell me it doesn’t sound exactly like a vacuum cleaner/power tool/blender!

Oh, and Interlagos will be brilliant. Haven’t driven it since Microprose Grand Prix :)

3. HarVee

He is right though. The custom transmission gives too much whine, and the racing exhaust does make certain cars sound like a vacuum. But I guess I’m just delusional for noticing this.

4. Magic Ayrton

I agree, in GT1 when you changed a part it seemed to make a subtle audible difference in sound, you got the feeling that it was making an improvement in power and it was very rewarding…

I think that this needs to be brought forward into GT6 – but done in a very tasteful, modern and realistic way (Forza 4 was just overdone in my opinion)

Just my 2 pence worth.

5. Magic Ayrton

Vacuum is incorrect, some mish mash of sampled sound and a coffee grinder is more realistic.. but not on ALL cars.

6. Johnnypenso

^^^Right the HSV is great..right? Yeah the HSV!! One car with poor sounds, is one car too many and not acceptable in a so called “sim”. But it’s not one car that’s off it’s hundreds. And that’s just the engine sound itself. No car has accurate racing transmission sounds, downshift pop, gear change sound etc.

7. super_gt

believe me guys GT vacuum sounds are much closer to real car sounds than GT physics is close to REAL physics!
just sound everyone can hear and compare, physics not everyone can”t!

10. TokoTurismo

I want to excited about this news, but the forum pissed me off today. Can’t freakin be enthuisatic about anything because there will be some annoying “pessimistic” person bringing you down…..

“Oh wow he’s praising GT6” Like it’s a their problem. I “dislike” pessimistic people, period…..

Rant over/

Back on topic: Yeah, I would like this track to be added, if possible since Kaz is working on the Senna content which is very importent. Looks, great. :P

1. jhw93

Don’t worry man, there’s plenty of us out there that love the series and like to here news about GT6. I really like GTPlanet hence why I have an account but the site is just a big hotspot for trolls to come and relieve their emotional issues with GT. I have replied to many of those that provide so called ‘constructive criticism’ but to no avail, unfortunately they seem to like to be persistent in trying to bring the game down before its even out. We just have to be grateful that these trolls do not represent the majority of people that will eventually play GT6 when it comes out.

Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing you guys on GT6 :)

2. Rafael F

People tend to forget the good aspects of the game. GT has some issues but it’s still the best racing game on my opinion.

3. TomBrady

Toko, you have just brought up the exact reason that I don’t visit forums for any other reasons than finding people to race with. It’s also the reason I no longer respond to youtube comments, the interent is filled with vile people that just want to vent their own anger on other people, and other products. It’s pathetic

These people need shrinks but instead they just harass people on the internet with their pessimistic garbage opinions

4. jlmcmillan1978

GT5 is the best Gran Turismo so far, because every GT released is better than the last. Having said that where do you guys think the series would be if everyone who gave feedback declared that everything was perfect, that there was nothing wrong with the game? Constructive criticism is the reason these games continue to improve, I think you guys are all a tad bit overly sensitive myself.

5. TokoTurismo

@ jlmcmillan1978 It’s not due to those who give out their criticisms, those are highly welcome to improve the series. It’s only the pessimistic people I can’t stand. For example. Whenever you say something enthusiastic in the forums, SOMEHOW it bothers them and they come in to bring you down. It’s honestly annoying if you think about it.

I want this franchise to be improved by those giving out their feedback such as constructive criticisms about the sounds which are needed, but pessimistic people? Nope, they’ll say and assume anything is bad no matter what.

6. HarVee

And you know what I dislike? People who are so optimistic about everything, that they get so caught up in their own world that they constantly contradict their own statements.

7. Magic Ayrton

Keep the faith TokoTurismo, Interlagos circuit in GT would be super!! I think that the people complaining are the die hard fans that don’t want to see GT going down the toilet. They want what is best for the series but are very frustrated with PD’s minimalistic approach when it comes to factual and honest details regarding the game.

Hang in there buddy. it’s all coming together, slowly but surely (I hope)

Sound is ok at best – when you change a part you want to bring out the full flavour of a real tuned motor.. but at present it just sounds coarse.

Hope that helps.

8. Johnnypenso

What’s to praise Toko? We have absolutely no details on Senna and how he will be utilized in the game and we already know PD has not done well with this type of tie-in in the past. We don’t know when it’s coming so it could be a year out or more. We’re supposed to be able to recreate his career from the ground up and yet we don’t have a single purpose built, racing kart track. How exactly are we going to recreate his career without a single version of the tracks he learned to race on?

When we get details and we can have an objective appraisal as to how this is going to work, people will get on board, if it’s well done. If it’s done ala Jeff Gordon and SebVet, PD will be villified and rightfully so.

9. TokoTurismo

@ HarVee Well. That’s just fine by me, but hope we don’t become enemies over it. :P

@ Magic Ayrton Ahh arlight, I’m pulling through now. Thanks a lot for your faithful words Magic Ayrton, that does make me feel better. :)

@ Johnnypenso I understand what you say, but I just want to be enthusiastic without being brought down. That’s all. :(

10. myopinion11

Guys the reason why there are so many pessimistic and angry people about GT beacuse PD have brought them to life and it will never change until PD makes a game with no half compleat stuff or what ever you want to call those things. And im also included to the angry and some how called pessimistic category if you have read my comments before but i hope GT6 will change my mind and minimise the pessimistic peoples.
Cheers :)

11. frivoloushobby

Thats some good news… kind of. I can’t see Senna’s likeness being used in the game without Interlagos being included. My guess is that the track will not be available at launch but will be bundled with the Senna DLC. Or in true PD form it wont show up at all and all of us on GTPlanet will scratch our collective heads

12. CodeName

Its going to be dlc or update, im sure. But still, so much new real world tracks coming for GT6, it so great! We now had many new real tracks from the release of GT5, just to name a few: SPA, twin ring motegi, bathurst, brands hatch, silverstone, willow springs, goodwood, plus one “secret” australian track coming… And now Interlagos!!! PD: where more than dreams are realised… (plus don’t forget they’re working and totally rebuilding the sounds, may come will come as a patch after release!!!) Definitely guys, who can say gran turismo 6 is bad… or PD… GT6 is definitely THE racing game coming before GT7. It is my opinion, but other games such as forza or project cars are just not playing in the same field…

1. Pit Crew

How can you be sure when it’s not confirmed yet? Assumptions are not facts sorry to say.

Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Willow Springs, Goodwood Hill Climb, and Bathurst were in GT5? Dang, how did I miss that? Could have sworn they were scheduled for GT6…

2. Pit Crew

Oh yeah as far as sounds, 1 Kaz said we may do this so that revelation still remains to be seen, and 2 Forza and Project cars are light years ahead of GT series in the engine notes department, without the need to rework anything. Just the Facts man…

3. CodeName

No! By “from GT5” I meant after its release. And I guarantee you 101% that interlagos WILL be in GT6. Many said bathurst, SPA, Goodwood and brands hatch won’t be in GT5 or GT6 after some statements of kaz or some odd pics, but then they were all confirmed from kaz. NOW when kaz says “it is important that this circuit is present.” it makes it even more of an evidence for its presence in GT6, don’t you think?

4. The Stig Farmer

*Secret Australian location. They never confirmed this was a track. For all we know it a phototravel location and I’m dead certain it’s the Sydney Opera House, because globally-recognised landmark.
*The fact that GT6 requires a day-one patch, with sounds improvements being a possible update, is worrying. It hasn’t even gone on sale and it’s unfinished.
*Forza will always be the more complete game, Project CARS will always be more realistic.

5. Pit Crew

Other than Spa, Goodwood HC, Brands Hatch and Bathurst were not in GT5. I’d love for Interlagos to be in GT6, but until it’s confirmed I refuse to step out on a limb and guarantee anything Kaz says because he also said we would get more details about Course creator upgrades at TGS but it didn’t happen now did it?

6. CodeName

*For location we can only make hypothesis for now
* day one patch surely doesn’t mean unfinished. Other games had day oje patch pkus PS4 and Xbox One will have a large day one patch. Plus for sounds no one said it will be day one. Do you prefer they work on sound or not? Better late than never. They already worked so hard on so many other things (physics, technologie, adding tracks and cars…) it really doesn’t mean incomplete.
*if by complete you mean a game that has less cars and less tracks and that lacks on major areas (other licenses apart only route cars, night, rain… it better have it like GT on some tracks but not on all, i think even that is verrrrrrrry welcomed for the fans and isn’t considered for something unfinished but rather a new feature not available on all tracks, thats all), and that we know will not receive special treatments for the game during years (i mean adding lots of new features for the fans or new tracks)…..
Project cars seems to lack more concerning physics than GT6 (my opinion, not sure 100% and noje can be as these tso games aren’t already released as their final version
Conclusion: No games compete against GT6 concerning overall quality.

7. The Stig Farmer

So Forza and PCARS are worse because they have less cars?

Excuse me? Quantity =/= quality. And I could care less about time and weather change, I hardly ever use them.

8. Pit Crew

EDIT: Goodwood Bathurst and Brands Hatch were never scheduled to be in GT5 unless the OP has a source we haven’t seen yet.

9. CodeName

The stig farmer: ok of course quantity isn’t quality but it completes the game making it even more complete in quality of game, again its not needed to be on all tracks but its a very good addition. Plus PD modelisation of premium cars is light yeeaaars far from forza, forza does not model as good as PD. And the tracks… umh…
It is your opinion time and weather change is useless, but for me its very important, since i had them with GT5, i could verrrry hardly support a general car game such as forza not having for example La sarthe at night. Night is now on many games (was in shift 2, grid, will be in project cars…) And of course don’t tell me you prefer having a game that has less cars moreover a game that has more cars…
Pit Crew: No! You didn’t understand from the beginning lol! The “won’t be in GT5 or GT6” meant in general! For example SPA for GT5 and brands hatch for GT6 but there I was talking generally to make it simplier xD

10. The Stig Farmer

Every car in Forza is “premium” and most are modelled to a higher standard than GT (fact). The majority of them can have engines and drivetrains swapped out for new ones. Cars are grouped much better, into designated types. There are three MX5s rather than thirty.

And I care about gameplay too. GT5’s career was boring and labourious (I actually never completed it), and the online segment is an apparent afterthought judging by Kazunori’s comments. GT6 screenshots show pretty much more of the same.

11. Pit Crew

Yeah Sure Right whatever you say…lol The more you try to clean it up, the more confusing your OP and subsequent responses get…

I’m finished with this one.

12. MLRSparco

Thats the one thing I HATE about GT games, theres always a ton of cars that are just different versions of the same car,30 miatas and 30 skylines lol,the Japanese cars to Everybody else ratio is terrible, thats why when they say 1,000+ cars I’m not that excited for that because I know it will be dominated with Japanese cars.

13. another_jakhole

CodeName is talking about GT6 too. And since when did this become a pissing contest? That one line where he said FM and pCARS aren’t on the same level as GT? It can be argued that that’s the case. How about we pick where GT succeeds and pick where other games drop the ball to make it “fair”?

14. CodeName

The Stig Farmer: modelled better i highly doubt it, but yes concerning tuning and modification forza does a better job. But on this part PD said they added toooonns of aero parts and a probability of livery editor and concerning engines i’m sure it’ll be better than GT5 because it’s a part of simulation (in an interview of someone, i remember him talking about modifications about GT6 and saying you will have in GT6 the feeling of “yeah look at my car how I tuned it!”). Now when talking about groupped cars and 30 miatas, yes it’s a fact… We can only hope they improve this part in GT6 but from what I’ve seen, they added some sexy and interesting cars in GT6!!
On your second part,I agree a little bit. I obly agree GT5’s career could have been better because in GT4 it simply was stunning and amazing the tons of hours we could have doing all the different races that waited us in the career mode… But saying it was boring and laborious… No. That’s your opinion but many of us (including myself) actually had lots of fun doing the career mode, the problem came after patches, it ruined it… As for online, screenshots do not tell all. In fact, we know it will have qualifications, teams (well I don’t remembe a lot concerning the online)… But to know how the online of a gane is, the only solution would be to play online ourself. But don’t worry, it’ll be way better than GT5’s online ;)
Here you only brang your bad points of GT5, ok… there are a lot… But as said another_jakhole, what about we compare with the bad points of the other games such as forza which it seems you prefer more than GT, it would be more fair right? Because really I’m a die-hard GT fan but I’m not a fanboy not having any arguments to defend myself…
Pit Crew: well, I couldn’t say it better… try to reread lol

15. The Stig Farmer

OK then:

*FM4 has no time or weather change. May not matter to ME but the majority of other people seem to want it. Pretty miffed that it isn’t going to be in FM5 either.
*The longest race I’ve driven was around 20 laps – and that was on a short-course oval. The only form of endurance race can be found online, and the racing lobbies are practically dead anyway.
*On the topic of online, although there is a brilliant matchmaking system, the servers have a habit of sending you back to the race lobby after you have sat through a race loading screen.
*Despite the large amount of customization, there is no option for matte or chrome paint, which is odd since you can buy cars fresh from the dealer with this type of paintjob.
*FM4’s physics engine could not cope with open-wheel cars (this has been fixed in FM5), so no single-seaters, Caterhams, Atoms etc.

What gets me about GT is that despite all of the content, the majority of it is unsatifactory and undeveloped. Sure, there’s a full suite of rally cars and off-road tracks/course-maker locations, but the only true rally events consist of three Special Events. There is no option to have rallying online or ANY rally in the career mode. Same story with the TopGear Test Track.

I’ve played GT religiously for months, so please don’t take it that I’m some sort of “hater” :P

16. Pit Crew

I did reread it and it still makes no sense. TW Motegi isn’t even new to the GTseries, and maybe had you said; Since the announcement of GT6 we’re getting more real world courses, your OP wouldn’t look like a ramble post. Updates could include DLC but how does one conclude that tracks will be available at a later date through Update or DLC? * We now had many new real tracks from the release of GT5, just to name a few: SPA, twin ring motegi, bathurst, brands hatch, silverstone, willow springs, goodwood*
This statement, for me is quite confusing as like I said it gives an impression that these courses were in both games when only 2 were in GT5.

Stepping on Forzas and PCars toes was hardly necessary as Forza has already proven it can compete in the present racing game genre with GT6, and PCars will stand on its own merits, still in development mode and looking plus sounding awesome. GT6 is still promoting its JDM bias with 1,200 cars while Forzas list offers variety, balance, and a number of Car Fan favorites (Olds 442 FTW).

Kaz makes evasive coy statements all the time, one of the worst for me is when he was asked about Porsche someday coming to the GTseries, where he answered ” Well we can’t say no… so taking his remarks with 2 grains of salt is the rule of the day in my book.

Silverstone and Spa (I think) were in Forza series already so GT is still playing catchup on the track list. Just saying, but we can agree that we both disagree with each other.

17. myopinion11

Well Forza has invented the DRS and has made a pass on GT and is pulling away by using KERS but know Project CARS are bringing the furiously powerd V10 engine and is looking to take the lead in racing game markets. But will GT update their outdated 2,4L V8 or are the going to bring the spectacular sounding V12 back to life to take the lead in racing games markets. Rigth know they look struggling with development.

Get it ???

13. carfanatic45

I’ve driven this on the F12012 game and I think it is probably one of he hardest tracks on the game. It’s fun and certainly chalenging. Hopefully they add the track so I could drive something other than a F1 car on it.

1. TomBrady

I’ve been racing V8 supercars in iracing on Bathurst this week, so much fun man. Bathurst is spectacular, especially when it’s laser scanned. Can’t wait for the spectacular visuals the GT6 version offers

1. Tenacious D

Fortunately, they do tend to come true, on occasion. Occasionally enough that it’s worth more than 10 million purchases. ;-)

2. The Stig Farmer

@Tenacious D

Quantity =/= quality

Justin Bieber may be one of the biggest stars on Earth but it doesn’t mean his music’s any good.

3. another_jakhole

They said we’d all have hovercrafts and jet packs by now! It was technically possible.
lmao

hahahurhurdurrr

14. Foxiol

We need more open wheelers if we get great tracks like this. It is also really cool for Stock Car V8´s and similar cars to those (DTM, V8 Supercars, BTCC, WTCC, etc).

15. MadmuppGT

I bet Kaz is brutal around Valentines day… “it is possible you’ll be going to that fancy restaurant and very possible you’ll get a big diamond ring”

Feb 15th… What the hell Kaz?

1. another_jakhole

I had to point out this it’s only figurative since some might misconstrue being the poster child of GT Academy’s success to be a tangible gift from Kaz in the form of a career…

16. Mr C5 Z06 Vette

This track better be in gt6 since we have senna as well but if not oh well i don’t really like playing this reack in f1 2011 but hey it will still be a fun might i add very photogenic location

17. GRAN_TURISMAN

That track looks like fun! Lets keep our fingers crossed that it will be on 6! Please, please oh please Kaz include this track!
