Sony has published the first gameplay video of Mario Andretti’s 1948 Hudson, which will become available in Gran Turismo 6 on December 19th.

Gran Turismo 6 receives its first update outside the initial day one release patch. Weighing in at 1.2 GBs, this patch adds the Red Bull X Challenge allowing players to try out the newest Red Bull X concepts created in collaboration with F1 designer Adrian Newey. As opposed to the single concept presented in yearly updates through out GT5’s lifespan, we now get the Red Bull ‘X’ cars in three distinct flavors: X2014 Junior, X2014 Standard and X2014 Fancar. A surprising addition is the new Red Bull Racing Kart, which features design cues from its big brother prototypes.

12 Finalists out of 400,000 entrants got the chance to go to Silverstone to prove themselves in Racecamp, now one of them has turned a far off dream into reality.

Since the launch of GT6, a team of mechanics has been re-building Mario Andretti’s first race car, a 1948 Hudson, as part of the game’s “First Love” campaign.

Gran Turismo 6 is finally here and the one thing that needs to be pointed out right away is the fact that GT6 is the first full-length entry in the franchise to be released on time without any form of delay or setback. Could this be a sign of things to come? We can only hope!

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 5, featuring a series of two racing events exclusive to racing cars with no more than 700PP and no better than Racing/Hard compounds or less for this week’s time trial, and no tuning restrictions for this week’s drift trial.

The Ascari Race Resort is one of the newest real-world tracks in the game, and hosted the second day of festivities during the Gran Turismo 6 launch event.

At the massive Gran Turismo 6 launch event, it was first announced that the BMW M4 Coupe – one of the highest-profile vehicles launching in 2014 – would be coming to the game “shortly after launch”.

Late-night TV host, comedian, and “car guy” Jay Leno has had a strong connection with the Gran Turismo series since his “Tank Car” first appeared in GT4. He also served as the “host” of Gran Turismo PSP, narrating the game’s English voice-overs.

Over the past week, Gran Turismo 6 has taken over the small town of Ronda, Spain, in what was arguably one of the largest launch events in the history of the video game industry.

At the Gran Turismo 6 launch event, GTPlanet had the opportunity to take part in a round-table interview with GT series creator Kazunori Yamauchi at the Ascari Race Resort.

Gran Turismo 6 is finally here and if you left the previous game feeling a bit weary of the possible absence of Seasonal Events in GT6, fret not as the first round of events are now available featuring the Honda Fit RS, 15th Anniversary Cars (where applicable) and the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision GT.

Gran Turismo 6 releases worldwide today, officially starting the sixth chapter of one of the most popular video game series of all time, having sold more than 70 million copies in total.

The Honda/Acura NSX Concept was added to the GT6 car list a few days ago, and today its inclusion in the game has been formally announced with a gorgeous set of official screenshots. The car was first announced for the GT series in a special trailer (above), released in January last year.

The live build team is making progress on the exact replica of Mario Andretti’s ’48 Hudson race car. It’s been painted and is ready to enter the final stage of the build in preparation for its formal reveal to Mario and its eventual launch in GT6.
