More GT6 TV commercials have been emerging around the world. We reported the first TV spot out of Japan, but now Australia and Poland have joined in, showcasing GT6’s “The World is Your Track” ad campaign.

With so much going on this week’s Seasonal Events challenges completely slipped my mind. Luckily as many of you will already be aware, this week’s challenges are now available in Gran Turismo 5, and are similar to the challenges featured two weeks ago.

There’s yet another way to get yourself a 15th Anniversary car for Gran Turismo 6, this time it’s in the form of a social media promotion from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. This promotional code can only be redeemed by Japanese PSN accounts. (Here’s a video guide which explains how to do that.)

The first Gran Turismo 6 game discs have been printed (offered referred to in the industry as going “gold”), and a few are making their way into the hands of journalists, according to reports from NeoGAF. They’ll be unable to share their impressions until “next Friday” (December 6), when the game releases worldwide.

Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has published a short hands-on preview describing the first few steps in starting your virtual career in Gran Turismo 6’s single player campaign. The article begins with a description of the driver “tutorial” that begins immediately when the game first launches. This will be similar to the driving introduction players went through when first loading up the GT6 GT Academy Demo. It also mentions having to register a “name” before the tutorial gets started, again, in line with the process in the GT Academy Demo.

We are excited to announce that GTPEDIA: GTPlanet’s Guide to the World of Gran Turismo is set to include all the gritty details about Gran Turismo 6. The new chapter will be published this January as a free downloadable update for everyone who owns a copy of the book.

Legendary Italian American Indy 500, 24 Hours of Daytona, Daytona 500 winner and Formula 1 Champion Mario Andretti is at the center of a new GT6 First Love campaign in which GT fans get to take part in a historic rebuild project. The First Love Campaign is broken into three “Chapters:” Andretti, Live Build, and Reunion.

This is the result of putting together five Playstation 3s, five 80″ LED HDTVs, and five copies of GT5. The builders of this rig put it together as a “test” of a new line of screens for a University, combining students’ resources together for the temporary build. They noted playing GT5 with this rig was quite surreal, from the reddit post:

What appears to be the the full version of Gran Turismo 6 is on display at the Tokyo Motor Show, and gameplay footage has started emerging from attendees.

We’re two weeks away from experiencing Gran Turismo 6 and the timing is impeccable; with the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One out and about, the established platforms — the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 — are slowly going to regress into anonymity. Of course the platforms will continue to be showered in exclusive releases, but it won’t be much longer until the lion’s share of the focus is aimed toward the future.

With only a couple of weeks to go until the first copies of Gran Turismo 6 start thunking onto doormats the world over, you might be forgiven for being somewhat confused by exactly what you’ll be getting if you’re planning to preorder the game.

While Gran Turismo The Movie is still somewhat small on the horizon, Sony has brought it one step closer to realization. The Hollywood Reporter is naming Watchmen Co-Writer Alex Tse as the writer for the upcoming video game adaptation film. The first real sign of the GT movie being in development was confirmed to us back in July after rumors.

A strange video has been posted to the official PlayStation France YouTube channel, which claims to show the unboxing of a “GT6 Ultra Custom Accessory”. It actually features a man opening a large black box which contains a bionic arm with “#GT6” printed on the skin.

Kazunori Yamauchi was in California yesterday for the official debut of the Mercedes-Benz Vision Gran Turismo concept car, which will be featured in Gran Turismo 6.

The latest Seasonal Events are now available in Gran Turismo 5, featuring a series of five racing events exclusive to classic muscle cars built in 1980 or earlier with no more than 500PP and no better than Sports/Medium compounds or less.

A new official Gran Turismo 6 video trailer and screenshots have been released, showcasing the new Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo car.
