It’s that time of year again, where PC gamers rejoice and their wallets cry. Yes, it’s the annual Steam Summer Sale!
This year, there’s a huge selection of racing games anywhere from 10-90% off. These include everything from hardcore sims all the way to goofy arcade racers and pretty much everything in between. There are even a few non-racing car games in the mix as well.
Since the list is near 900 games and DLC, we thought we’d comb through it for you. However, even then these are just a small selection of games.
We start with the game that probably intrigues most PC sim racers, Project CARS 2. If you want the standard edition, you can pick it up for just $23.99. However, if you want the full experience we recommend the Deluxe Edition. This will score you the season pass and all the DLC currently out for $44.99, half the regular list price. This means you’ll get the latest Spirit of Le Mans pack, which provides some awesome classic Le Mans racing.
You can also pick up the original Project CARS as well.
The other stand out is Assetto Corsa. Like Project CARS 2, it comes in two flavors, the standard and Ultimate Edition. We recommend the Ultimate Edition here too since it also gets you all the DLC for $25.88. This is the perfect way to gear up for Assetto Corsa Competizione.
While on the subject of gearing up for upcoming releases, you can score F1 2017 for only $14.99 before F1 2018 drops.
If you want to leave the pavement behind, there’s a huge selection of rally and off-road games to choose from. These include two staples of Steam sales, DiRT 4 and DiRT Rally. In addition, there are other titles like Gravel, Spintires: Mudrunner, and the underrated Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO.
If two wheels are more your thing, there’s also a wide range of motorcycle games. Perhaps the most exciting of these is the new Isle of Man TT which gets a 30% discount for a total of $27.99. If you do pick this up, be sure to get the free sidecar expansion.
Finally, if you want to take a break from racing there are games for that too. Among these are titles like Automation, Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, and Motorsports Manager.
