While helping out with the Polish GT Academy 2012 finals, Lucas Ordoñez made an interesting comment about Gran Turismo 6‘s development, which he’s reportedly involved in.
According to a reporter on hand at the event, Lucas suggested the series’ next flagship title would include a very large number of tracks. Though the Polish source article is not clearly translated by Google, but we now have a full translation kindly provided by native Polish speaker and GTPlanet reader, Alex (Vatrox):

“We are not sure whether to consider it a rumor or a verified information, but you can be sure we are the first in the world to report it. What’s the matter? The day before yesterday (that would be 23 of July – Vatrox), “our” guy Jacob took part in the GT Academy finals held in Warsaw. Beside competitors, there was also well-known Nissan’s driver – Lucas Ordones. So what?
Well, Jacob managed to chat with him for a bit asking about Gran Turismo series and it’s future. And the information he managed to get is very interesting. Lucas gave away that Gran Turismo 6 production is in progress and we will be very surprised how accurate and well-reproduced are all the tracks. Also, the amount of them will be simply jawdropping.
Asked what platform it is being delevoped for, he replied
enigmatically: ”Now, that’s a very good question…” How much truth is in that? As a Nissan’s driver and the face of GT Academy he obviously knows more than an ordinary mortal. And GT6 is certain for some platform.”
Representatives from Polyphony Digital have, of course, already been spotted at the Bathurst circuit, scanning and photographing it for Gran Turismo 6.
Over 25 different circuit logos also remain on GT5‘s “Remote B-Spec Racing” website, though they are not currently available in the game.

Yeah, but half of them are duplicates. Like we really need a backwards variant, and weather/time change variant clogging up the game menus?
Hope they put drag racing maps pinks if u lose they automatically and the car
It’s not really that kind of game…is it?
GT doesn’t need drag racing, at least not yet. PD and the team behind the GT series need to focus on improving the already existing racing types before they tackle a new one.
I agree with DuskTrooper. I think PD should bring us back the features, tracks and other stuff from gran turismo 4 which is left out in gran turismo 5. I did love the “world map” in gt4. Driving license tests were a lot better in gt4 than in gt5. The coffee breaks for example were fun. Or driving behind the nissan skyline safety car (without hitting him :p) If PD is able to make more cars premium, remake more of the GT4 tracks in fullHD, I will be very satisfied already when buying GT6. ;)
I hope they add the zenvo st1it has a 1200 hp v8 engine
And it’s Danish too. Denmark für the win! (•‿•)
They also need to add then hennessey venom gt same 1200 v8 also they need to add UNDERGROUND RACING car they have the fastest twin turbo street legal lambos in the world http://undergroundracing.com/
1200 hp v8
Really!?! =-O
And by higher number of circuits, I hope they mean REAL circuits. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the original circuits, but I would like to see more real circuits in the next installment of Gran Turismo. I would like to see more of both.
I just want so many track that “My hat will fall off my head.”
Brands Hatch be good for gt5/6. So would a BMW M3 E30 on my driveway.
I want an E30 325 IS & and an E30 M3 and prob an E30 racecar wouldnt hurt hehe ;)
cant wait for Bathurst in GT my life will be complete
Oh yes 325i and the e30 m3 i would cry with happyness if they were given in gt5 have you guys voted for it in the feedback section
@another_jakhole – Who is a “prick”?
Please use the reply link when you want to reply to someone. It really helps organization.
Yeah, it may potentially have a large selection of tracks. But chances are about 60% of the total track count will be nothing but duplicates.
good old Apricot hill and midfield raceways.
i hated them on gran turismo 4, but now i miss them.
sounds great. together with a large number of premium cars it would be perfect!
With this large amount of tracks i just hope they bring back Seattle.
^+10000000000000000000000000
I’d especially love that track, since it’s in my home town… And it accurately represents it, too… just right now, the scenery is FAR outdated.
@Quakebass i dont know if its true but i was reading somewhere that one of the turns have changed and thats why its not in gt5 is that true
It shows it in real life it looks really cool would love to drive a e30 around there
Agree! rumours will just set you up to get let down. look at GT5 :p
I think we don’t need a new Gran Turismo, but we need some DLC’s and updates in the GT5.In GT4 they couldn’t update the video games via internet. Now they can :/ I think PD should give up on the GT6 idea. Can you believe need to start the game all over?If they update GT5 we wont need to start the video game since the lvl 0.
Do you guys understand what I’m saying?
……..No…….Epic Fail
Seoul needs to come back. Would look fantastic on the PS3.
Real life tracks I hope!
Not a fan of the ‘real simulator’ on make believe tracks :(
They’ve always been there and probably always will.
Great news :-)
I can’t wait to see the first trailer !!
Btw that was just an example.
So don’t start bitch*ng about the wording.
(Kazumoron: Example, yes, wording not it. Unhappy please wording)
: )
Haven’t you lot learned yet?; until something (regarding GT5/6) is said originally in English, you’re an absolute…fool…for getting excited about it.
English: More cars are coming as DLC, likely by next week.
Kazumoron: Cars, like DLC, want more, “soon”. High demand, DLC. Cars. Yes.
Yh…
Speak for yourself angry dude. Im not foolish enuff to buy into an attitude laden rant moment.
Calling people names like a “fool” over the internet, just because an individual or individuals interpret some third party information as a reason to be positive about the future prospects of tracks that may be coming to GT6 and making a big deal of the language its spoken in is unnecessary, and insulting, especially when no direct provocation was initiated, and the “small” fact that the GT series has proven to have a Global gaming fanbase.
Sure the Internet is a Powerful tool of global information, however it stops just short of giving users the liberty to make unfair Judgements.
A better track creator would be better, where you could actually make the track instead of selecting one from a random generator – then that way you could replicate any track you wanted
Some more detailed scenery for the track creator would be nice too, as would manual terraforming abilities.
Another attempt to generate interest for something we won’t see for years to come. Prove me wrong!
GT5 had a large number of circuits so this doesn’t really mean that much.
