EDIT: What a time to be alive indeed.

I never thought this will ever happen again.

A top F1 driver skipping Monaco to race in the Indy 500 instead. Alonso just gotten himself a ton of American fans by doing this.

I'm just hoping the car isn't repulsive orange peel color.

ITS THE HISTORIC MCLAREN COLOR GOSH.

The one this year is awful.

Yes, I know it's the original McLaren color. It's still awful.

I believe the original McLaren color was black. By the time it was campaigned on the US west coast in 1965, it was red.

M1A - 1964-65
The original McLaren-built Group 7 sports racing car was a simple spaceframe design with a light and compact Oldsmobile V8 engine; Cooper wheels, uprights and steering arms, and a Hewland Gearbox. Fitted with the engine effort the Zerex, the McLaren M1 lowered the Zerex's records at Goodwood by a clear three seconds.

Michael Shank racing to Indy 500 too. People need to spread these things out.:D

This means Indy this year is already at 32 entries.

You're from Cincy, you're used to taking losses, another one won't seem so bad.

Fair play. I know Cincy teams suck. But at least we have pro teams here unlike in Connecticut.

So there will be 5 ex or current F1 drivers at the 500 this year: Bourdais, Montoya, Rossi, Sato, Alonso. When was the last time there was that many guys with F1 experience in the field?

Edit: maybe last year? I forgot about Chilton. Is he doing the 500 this year?
