Those were in a heavily aero dependent "point and shoot" type car which suited him. Ever since regulations went away from that he has struggled to stay consistent.

It was also when he had no competition. The guy absolutely crumbles under even the slightest bit of pressure

Edit: And a 4x wdc should not claim that the style of car doesn’t suit him. Part of being a good driver is being able to adapt your driving to every car you drive

Leclerc having engine problems :nervous:

LeClerc engine problems?! :(

What a pity...

🤬🤬🤬🤬

Neat.

Please Ferrari don't let stupid cockups ruin this great driver's season...

Hamilton gaining fast...

Mission Blessed.

Gutted for Sainz, but really this race is a positive overall for Mclaren.

If Sainz perhaps waited for a better opportunity, maybe he would have left Max behind.

Real shame, had he kept his luck Leclerc would’ve been fighting Bottas at the top of the championship standings.

Leclerc driver of the day. Drove like he's been in F1 for a decade.

What worries me is the gap between Hamilton and Bottas. The difference in performance is like night and day to Australia.

And Renault still suck. They are barely ahead of McLaren and Alfa Romeo. A TON of work to do before that car comes anywhere near the podium.

Double Renault DNF!

Safety car, Leclerc safe on podium?

what is going on

Crazy race

The move of Kimi to Sauber made sense but did Ricciardo possibly doom himself forever by moving to Renault?

Feel awful for Le Clerc; so unfair. Mercedes don't care though -- relentless aren't they.

Roo
He's either safe or completely screwed, nothing in between.

Gutted for Leclerc, even if he does make the podium.

But it's hopefully just the first of many podiums in his career.
