Just pointing out where these circuits are in the list Sorted by Likes. Interesting isn’t it? Sitting 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th on the first page.
But when, in GT history, does popularity of something, has had an impact of that something appearing in game ?

Just look at car updates since launch. How many cars that nobody cares about (or only a small minority) have been added ?

My guesses for the Spec III update, there is the 4 we know, A toyota because every update needs one :yuck: (Toyota Pixis kei car), the new electric chinese hypercar, then the M4 GT3 Evo, and the Kubelwagen for a willys jeep showdown.

  • BMW M4 GT3 Evo, 2025
  • Ferrari 296 GT3, 2024
  • Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 Base, 2006
  • Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R Aero Series, 1997
  • Polyphony Formula Car
  • Toyota Pixis Mega, 2015
  • Volkswagen Kubelwagen, 1944
  • Yangwang U9 Xtreme, 2025

Lots, but why is that relevant?

PD generates content longlists and shortlists from myriad sources, internal and external. Thinking that the Suggestions forum is not one of those sources, and it's entirely coincidental, requires one to dismiss the reason behind it existing in the first place.

Sure would be nice if people realised that and used it properly instead of vomiting lists into every other thread and ignoring it, then getting mad about the cars they really care about not being added (and thinking the cause is unilateral).

Yeah, reading is hard though. Since Ipecac is no longer recommended, easier to shove a finger down a gullet and spread the mess over keyboard and internet.

I do wonder if they made a bit of a mistake announcing this quite so early as they have.

There's a lot of sim racing news happening in between - PMR coming out, Rennsport coming out, AC Rally early access, AC EVO v0.4 (which will have more car content and more track content than this update will, it should be noted). I know PD don't ever react to other games, but there's a decent chance any hype the community has for it kind of disappears by the time it actually releases.

The Peugeot does not concern itself with other racing sims.

Not gonna lie, I was really expecting the SU7 Ultra to be added at some point before Spec III through a smaller update, with an obvious focus on it, as it makes way more sense to me from a marketing perspective.

A regular 3-car update in October/November containing the Xiaomi + 2 cars “nobody asked for” was definitely in my predictions, as it would naturally make the SU7 Ultra the star of the update, which is what I thought they wanted to do.

Sure we still have time for this to become true, but seeing v1.64 being confirmed once again for Spec III makes it nearly impossible to happen by now.

I’m kind of disappointed because not only the Xiaomi will now become a minor feature considering the dimensions of the Spec III, but also because it will “steal” a slot from the 4 remaining unknown cars, making it now only 3.

…and I’m not even including the Yangwang U9 in all of this situation - mostly because I believe it’s too soon for it to arrive in GT7 this year, as opposed to the SU7 Ultra, which is confirmed to be coming in 2025.

Hm, I think the only reason this got announced in a State of Play event (unlike Spec II, which was announced kinda low-key and then released a short time later, IIRC) is that they have something big that they want to show. Something big enough to warrant this Fan Fest and stuff as well. What it is, only time will tell (though I have a hunch...).

If your salary was withheld for 3 months, then given to you all at once, would you consider that a raise?

You seem to live in an alternate reality where PD somehow owe you an update every month.

They don’t.

It’s an update with 8 cars. Literally an 8 car update.

Don’t be complicated (or stupid).

I've said it before:
Considering we have had content updates for every month of 2025, except for April ("dead game" :)), we were due for some months without updates. We will end the year with 9 content updates for GT7, which is on par with the amount of updates we have had every year since launch
I will say it again. We were due some months without an update this year. This is not PD "withhelding" an update for 3 months.

We will get 9 content updates this year, which is 1 more update than in 2023 and 2024. What more could you want?

As I said in the Fan Fest article, with Spec III being playable in LA the four other cars "will probably be revealed on social media within 90 seconds of the doors opening"...

The full update is going to be available then?? I had the impression that only the tracks and the 4 known cars were going to be playable, but probably I misunderstood the article on the Gran Turismo site 😅😅

There's no such caveat listed. The GT site says "there will be opportunities for visitors to test their GT skills on racing sleds and get an early look at the new tracks and cars from the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 'Spec III' update", while PS Blog says "Fans can cheer on the world’s fastest drivers, get an early look at new tracks, cars, and features from the upcoming SPEC III update".

My only prediction will be this:

happy episode 8 GIF

Got it, hoepfully we will get the trailer for spec III during the event then 😃

Kinda regretting cancelling my plans to go to LA now. Could do a last minute dash and get there but my car has a pile of parts I need to install and driving that far on a fresh installation is probably not a good idea without getting some local mileage on the car first.
