Kinda regretting cancelling my plans to go to LA now. Could do a last minute dash and get there but my car has a pile of parts I need to install and driving that far on a fresh installation is probably not a good idea without getting some local mileage on the car first.
That’s why things like Turo were invented. Don’t know how far away you are, but a cheap car sharing rental has worked well for me in the past.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the new Toyota/Lexus/GR sports car will be car #8 in the lineup.

Too much lines up - it explains why they couldn't show us all the cars at the time of announcement, it explains the extra TGR signage in the last update, it gives the update a modern road car (the theme of 2025 updates but missing from Spec III so far). And, well, it's a Toyota sports car, PD have gotten the last four of those pretty much immediately.

Downtown LA traffic is not that bad

Highway traffic though..

My End of October prediction for the yet unknown cars for spec III:

  • BMW M4 Competition
  • BMW M4 GT3
  • Porsche 911 (992) GT3-R
  • Hyundai Ioniq 6 N
Nice prediction, I would love to see some new BMW models come in to the game.

Among the four other unknown cars coming in December I’d like to think there will be at least one older/vintage car.
I can realistically see any of these coming:

BMW 507 ‘57
Toyota Celica 1600GT ‘70
BMW 2002 Turbo ‘74
Buick GNX ‘87
Ruf CTR ‘87
You really should consider tagging this post as NSFW because that awesome collection of cars in one post is truly pornographic!

Of course there is one older car that would be bang on time for 1.64...

Still Problems with Electric and Hydrogen vehicles still...

There is still a big problem they're adding another electric car and they still haven't included them in with the normal road cars yet.

You still can't create your own event and drive an electric car, as they are restricted to one make races. Group X still going strong except they are not X anymore, but its still there hidden behind coding.

Please remove this polyphony and try working on balancing them in the PP system.

Please....

Yes, basically that.

I try hard to enjoy or entertain myself with useless electric cars or even the countless, stupid VGTs by trying to create custom grids in custom races, but hey, you can't! Polpyphony puts a lot of weight into these things, making the useless even more so.

For a while now I have been thinking, and feeling relatively confident, about PD adding a wide variety of cars for Spec III. So far we have a formula car, GT3, and older sports car.

I feel reasonably confident that we could see an LMH / LMDH too and very likely the Lexus LF-R as the current supercar offering. PD would rock a few boxes with those alone and still have room for an old race car too for example.

This is something I'd like clarification on: My understanding is that the wider Toyota group are working on two separate sporty cars - a Lexus, that is likely electric and previewed by that concept with the GT sim rig last week, and a "GR" (probably just Toyota if it shows up in-game) that is a V8 homologation car for their new GT3, that was at Goodwood this year. And it's the GR that's getting unveiled early December.

Am I wrong and they are actually both the same car?

Weren't electric cars included with the normal ones in GT6?
Yes just PP ratings in Gran Turismo 6, In GT Sport Group X, In GT7 electric and Vision cars are in the PP system but underneath Group X still exists and theirs still in game restrictions.

Yes, 2 separate cars but the Lexus may not be an EV. Suggestion now is that they will both be V8 with possible hybrid as well.

It is a confusing situation with this Toyota GR GT / Lexus LF-R model in that nobody is actually sure what will happen and what badge each type will wear. The latest rumour is that in 2027 there will be an EV version, to join the hybrid models, with solid-state batteries.

I have always assumed the GT3 car will be a Lexus to replace the RC-F but at this stage who knows 🤷‍♀️

There's something significant that needs addressing on the Lexus before there's a combustion engine in it:

So many outlets reported that it's definitely ICE or hybrid based on "3M" on the HUD, entirely forgetting Hyundai's N-GRIN Shift is a thing and also a thing several other brands have already said they're copying also developing.

Incidentally, with The Thing happening this weekend, we're getting to the stage where any normal organisation would be sharing details about it with media under embargo.
