Saltburn a better film than GT imo.

No less realistic though. Didn't see Chocolini's once, nor the cliff lift. It's like they filmed in a completely different town and pretended.

I see Drayton House is only an our from Silverstone.

So could make for an interesting weekend, reliving the film and some motor racing

Yup, suspending disbelief is IMHO the #1 requirement for enjoying any movie at all.

I actually watched it twice and 2nd time was a bit more entertained knowing how the movie plays out /ends.

I think that David Harbour carried the whole movie, he's pretty amazing considering the rest of the cast IMO

Shame Jann's dad wasn't in it more. He was great in it (and everything else he's in)

It was an entertaining movie to watch as I knew along that it was a struggle of a triumphant underdog. The final outside corner driving lines he took to podium Le Mans weren’t true. You have to be able to defy the laws physics to do such. If the writers knew anything about racing they could have included real moves that would’ve been accurate and more exciting to watch. Passing completely around the outside of a corner 🤮

Those are F1 cars, LMP2 cars at Le Mans are a different beast...you just do not pass on outside at Le Mans, it's not a safe move...

in case you forgot , the movie is based on a video game …I never seen Jann race but I doubt he drove the same way as the movie showed

After watching F1 I think GT has a better story. The F1 movie was a bit far fetched for me.

The best racing film I’ve seen recently is Le Mans 66 (Ford v Ferrari). But even that took liberties with the truth - old Enzo never went to Le Mans, he barely left Italy after the war.

Confession I never finished the movie. I was enjoying it got about 30 or 40 minutes left and starting playing GT7 and still haven’t finished the movie. 😅

Movie studios usually sell off props and costumes afterwards once they're done with them. They have no use for them anyways.

Better than burning it in a trash fire or sending it to the landfill.

They actually hold on to costumes, I think there is a vault or warehouse somewhere in LA each studio has and you can find every costume from ever movie made, so you don't have to make a whole new set of costumes unless you're doing superhero I get it

But yea I heard they do toss props from time to time, and is how Joe Dante (gremlins) got ahold of the Rosebud sled and ended up selling for millions

I used to work in a major VFX studio so I know the business. But this wasn’t a costume for a fictional character. It was story of Jann Mardenborough, bearing his name not the stunties and that’s what makes this valuable. I sure hope they at least asked for Janns permission. Although possibly not, film studios aren’t know to be even remotely ethical

The company had obviously bought the necessary rights to create props bearing his name or likeness and therefore technically it has the right to do with it as it pleases, barring disparaging his name or some other libel "offence".

IMHO. I could be wrong 'though...
