It’s been more than 5 years since Gran Turismo was officially announced for PSP system at E3 2004 – and today, you can walk into a store and buy it! Needless to say, a lot has happened to get us to this point – let’s take a quick look back at what a long and winding road it’s been:

May 11, 2004Gran Turismo 4 Mobile is shown off for the first time at E3 2004.

May 18, 2005 – The Gran Turismo PSP game is mysteriously absent at E3 2005.

October 24, 2005 – Sony Computer Entertainment officially sets the release date for “2006”.

September 25, 2006 – In an interview with Famitsu, Yamauchi reassures them that GT PSP is still in development.

April 4, 2008 – Yamauchi warns that GT PSP, after taking a back seat to GT5 Prologue development, won’t see a release in 2008.

April 29, 2009 – Although I had no way of knowing at the time, the future was accurately revealed in this article: new PSP hardware, an “October/November” release date for GT PSP, and a March 2010 release for GT5.

June 2, 2009Gran Turismo PSP and is officially confirmed for October 1, 2009.

And now, it’s here! As you might expect, GTPlanet’s Gran Turismo PSP forum is heating up, so create your account and join in! As you may remember, GT PSP can be played via the Internet using Ad-Hoc Party. Later today, I’ll be posting a walk-through guide that shows you how to use this Japanese tool to get your PSP online so you can compete and trade cars with other GTPlanet members from around the world – stay tuned.

Indeed a good point, but Jordan please do post the guide how to use the Japanese version of Ad Hoc Party. It will help.

  5. Reggie Willis

Don’t waste your time posting a way to use the Japanese Ad Hoc Party, instead this community to FLOOD Sony and PD with request to make it available in other regions! The success of their product depends on it!
