GT6 Online Service Maintenance Set for June 25th

Polyphony Digital has posted a maintenance announcement set to commence next Thursday, June 25th, starting 2200GMT/UTC (click here to convert this to your local time zone) and lasting for approximately two hours. As always, you’ll be unable to use the game’s online features during the maintenance period.

Although a maintenance notice certainly does not guarantee a game update will be made available, there is the recently announced SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo project car scheduled for release this summer, so this may be an opportune time for it to show up.

Stay tuned to GTPlanet for more details when they become available.

I’m hoping its actually the course maker no matter what one comes first. Thats all i care about course maker and just that we may not be getting new tracks but stuff it course makers here

  2. smskeeter23

What is that? Seriously? What is that I hear?! Oh nevermind it’s just the wind of dissapointment coming again down the vacant halls of hope.

  3. TheEvstar93

The service maintenance is on the 25th of June eh? I think one the things that’ll happen is another update to the Goodwood Hillclimb as the Festival Of Speed starts on the 26th. Should be good. I’m going there! I went to Goodwood last year and it seriously was one of the best days of my entire life! I’m so happy they put it in the game.

Also the SRT Tomahawks are gonna be epic!

  4. BrunetPaquet

In before the hype train boarders.

I’m expecting we get the two following things:
    The two GT Academy Nissans.

    That’s it.

Anything more is welcome, but I doubt it.

    inb4 Course Maker comments.

I hope it’s the SRT, my good friend would have an absolute meltdown if it was the SRT.

  6. Coquico

normally, i don´t like this type of car, but in this case i want to try it. I hope it doesnt be like the chaparral, what a kind of disapointment.

  7. Sean Baldwin

Bye bye Red Bulls and hello SRT Tomahawk!!!! Tomahawk S (Street), Tomahawk GTS, and the beast the Tomahawk X (Experimental)!!!

  8. ccaranna

Someone please check the time of maintenance. Is it 10am or 10pm? Also, the link showing the conversion says 6pm UTC.

    1. ccaranna

And check that, it starts at 5am Eastern STANDARD time. Converted to Daylight Time it’s 6am Eastern. Talk about confusing.

  9. GTP Ziggy

SRT Tomahawk, added dealership cars LMP2 and LMP1 Nissans, and hopefully course maker or FiA Online championship…

Based on the very specific timing of this maintenance, I’m going to guess it’s at least partly related to Goodwood as the Festival of Speed starts on the Thursday morning.
Perhaps the new centerpiece monument will be added, as it was, last year.

(I just hope they allow us the option of choosing which monument to drive on).

Here’s last year’s maintenance notice, with a similar timescale, albeit a day earlier.

“Polyphony Digital has announced a maintenance period for GT6‘s online services this Wednesday, June 18, 2014, starting at 07:00 GMT/UTC (convert to your local time) and lasting for approximately two hours.”

I also think the update may include the SRT VGT. But that wouldn’t seem to need any specific timing and could come anytime now its been revealed.

Of course, if a full scale model of the SRT turns up at Goodwood this year, I wouldn’t complain! I loved seeing the VW and Aston and Mercedes there last year.

I don’t include thursday as a FoS day. Cars are still turning up and only things that go up the hill are the Moving motorshow participants. So Audi’s, Citroens, Nissans etc. You do get a few Ferrari’s go up though. Rally stage usually just has the Skoda’s going round. When I do the festival I use Thursday as a day to get the infield out of the way. Also a great way to see the early arrivals without as much of a crowd.

I can’t make it again this year. Shame looks like a good one. Timed shootout looks like it’s gonna be a cracker. And the 787B should be going up the hill. You don’t want to miss that. I still remember that noise from a few years ago. Also Mazda are doing the central statue so maybe we’ll get it in GT? Not really heard anything. Time will tell though.

      Anyways have fun.

    2. sirjim73

Thanks @Bom15 shame you can’t make it. Last year was my first visit (thanks to my free GTPlanet comp ticket :D )

I’m going Saturday and maybe Friday if I win that GTPlanet comp that was on here lol.

Yeah looking forward to the 787B and also seeing that Le Mans 60s Jaguar, amongst many others.

Re the central statue, if it contains the new 2016 MX5 it could be interesting. Kaz did say we would get more cars lol

FIA stuff was due in “spring” which is over in a couple of days. I’m going with FIA, if not course maker.

    1. TeamCZRRacing

No, I’m pretty sure he means the Red Bull Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak driven by Sebastien Loeb to the overall record at Pikes Peak this year.

    2. Terronium-12

I’m unsure if you’re replying to my point or not, but the 208 T16 isn’t coming to GT6.

    3. Lille B

“It won’t be coming to Gran Turismo 6, though: in the same interview, Kazunori Yamauchi gave an equally direct answer when asked about the hill climb being included in an update for the game: no. When asked if the track would be in GT7, he said he “didn’t know”.”

I think he’s referring to the hill climb series itself – not the car.

  12. RACECAR

I predict we finally have the SRT Tomahawk coming that week (and possibly Bertone, assuming they still exist). Not expecting Course maker but knowing everyone else, I smell disappointment coming.

    1. Whitetail

I’ve waited way too long for Bathurst if it isn’t in this update I’m going to riot against PD and start playing Forza! Maybe then they’ll listen to me!

    2. FS7

Maybe he meant Bathurst without the framerate issues, that would be a very wlecome addition to the game.

    3. VetteFan02

Dude, bathurst has been in the game since like day one hell they announced its inclusion a few months before that. I should know because i saw the trailer and played the bathurst demo.

    4. ScotteDawg

All jokes aside, I’d like to see the pre-1987 version of Bathurst – no walls and no chase, just rock faces and Conrod Straight going straight into Murray’s Corner!

      However, that will never happen…

    5. magawolaz

@VetteFan02, it was a joke from the GT5 era!

But I would also like Bathurst without flickering and framerate issues as FS7 says, Lol

    6. Johnnypenso

Or Bathurst without the flickering, frame rate issues and sound cutting out and being unplayable online for some of us. `
