GM has just announced their Vision Gran Turismo project with a mysterious screenshot posted to the Corvette Facebook page. The image is definitely a teaser, and will no doubt spark some debate as to exactly what part of the car is being shown (click the picture above for a larger view).

The 2014 Gran Turismo Awards were held at Drai’s Nightclub on the Las Vegas strip Wednesday night, where Kazunori Yamauchi announced a custom car from SEMA 2014 – the world’s largest aftermarket automotive industry event – would be featured in an upcoming Gran Turismo game.

A new batch of events are now available in Gran Turismo 6, featuring a series of new drift and super lap challenges exclusive to KTM’s ultra-light X-Bow sports car, front-wheel drive non-race cars, Kei cars, and non-race cars of any variety.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb – the most famous and challenging hill climb race in the world – has just announced that Gran Turismo will be the “Platinum Sponsor” for the 2015 event, and will even be part of the race’s official name.

A new safety car – the first for the series since the Nissan R34 GT-R Pace Car was released in 2002 – is coming to Gran Turismo 6. It’s based on the BMW M4 “M Performance Division”, and will be officially revealed at SEMA 2014 in Las Vegas this week.

GT Academy returns to Spike TV this Friday, November 7th, at 11:30pm ET for Season 4 of the reality television show which chronicles the North American GT Academy Race Camp, where the 2014 champion will be crowned and begin their professional racing career with Nissan.

Polyphony Digital, which has long been noted for its relatively small team of developers when compared to other video game production companies, is looking to recruit more staff members.

2011 GT Academy winner Jann Mardenborough will take advantage of the increasing motorsport co-operation between Nissan and Renault on 3 November when he tests a Formula Renault 3.5 racing car at the Motorland Circuit in Spain.  23 year-old Mardenborough will drive the single-seater at the invitation of Renault Sport Technologies.

A new selection of A-Spec challenges are now available, featuring compact cars, events taking place in the dark of the night, and your choice of Ferrari, all ranging from a beginner’s challenge to that of an expert where you’ll overtake as many opponents as possible within the allotted time.

It’s that time of year again! The 12th annual Gran Turismo Awards have been formally announced, and will be held next week at SEMA 2014 – the largest international automotive trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A document hosted on the FIA’s official website appears to reveal GT Academy’s plans for global expansion over the next few years, bringing the competition to several important markets for both Nissan and the Gran Turismo brand.

A special demo of Gran Turismo 6 with fully integrated motion simulation was shown to the public at Fuji Speedway in Japan, during the latest round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The game was running in a triple-monitor configuration on the SimCraft APEX3 GT motion simulation rig, allowing attendees to drive the Toyota TS030.

Another round of “Quick Match” online racing events are now available in GT6 featuring compact Japanese Kei cars taking wind around Silverstone, rally cars taking on the many sweeping turns of Cape Ring, and sports and race cars taking on some of GT’s classic attractions.

Alpine, the famous French sportscar company owned by Renault, offered an inside look at their Vision Gran Turismo project car with a recent post on Twitter. The car would be the most radical Vision GT we’ve seen yet, featuring a pivoting, articulated design.

This weekend the final European Le Mans Series event takes place at Estoril in Portugal and Nissan will be there to celebrate 30 years of NISMO with the fans of Le Mans racing.  This event also sees the LM P2 debut of 2013 GT Academy Europe winner and local man, Miguel Faisca.
