In terms of performance, SRT’s Tomahawk is one of the most impressive Vision GT projects yet. The “X” version boasts the most ridiculous specifications, loaded with a V10 that revs to 14,500 RPM and produces over 2,590hp.
The Tomahawk uses sophisticated pneumatic system, which drives the front wheels, powers the active aero-panels, and pressurizing the driving suit required by the pilot. It also uses an interesting “active camber system”, which adjusts the angle of the wheels in real-time to optimize the tires’ grip through corners.
As outlandish as it all sounds, the technology and design is based in reality, thanks to futuristic composite materials currently in development. It’s all explained by SRT Product Manager Mike Shinedling in the video above – provided exclusively to GTPlanet – and offers an interesting, inside look at the thought process of the design team.
Of course, the car is challenging to drive with all that performance, so SRT has also published a special article with various hints and tips on how to come to grips with the Tomahawk’s performance. It’s definitely worth a read, especially if you’re a novice player.

There are some serious real world issues with a car like this, for instance where do you put your face once it’s been pulled of your head, or what do you do when your shopping gets unceremoniously thrown all over the track by one of the aerodynamic devices, or what do you do when under braking your detached face is all over the windscreen. Additionally, it may be hard to see the track when screaming, and blacking out from the G-Force, with the tears and pain forcing your eyes closed, whilst crushing your whiplash severed head. Also, how much grip does one get from asbestos tires?

What I’d really like to see in GT6 from SRT is some updated Challengers- some Scat Pack cars, and a Hellcat, and maybe an AAR Cuda concept. Add some groovy 70’s Mopar colors, and I’ll be ecstatic. The Tomahawk, well, I’m not wasting the time to torture myself even to Bronze results with those, free car or not.

This car was designed to test the limit of my patience.
Then set some PP limits in your room, simple as that… errr… unless I missed the point.
Really great information, very enlightening on what on the surface just seems like an exercise in a dream world. I’d like videos more like this for all the VGT cars.

Video of a presentation that doesn’t show the presentation, but only the guy giving it. Not just a little annoyed, I couldn’t finish it. I scanned the timeline bar and saw very little that included the items he was referencing.
Interesting hearing them explain the car. understand the reason why its so crazy fast in turns now.
