The third and final episode of “Porsche, Porsche, and more Porsche!” landed on the laps of PC players late last month. While console players continue to participate in the waiting game due to Microsoft’s and Sony’s lengthy approval processes, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to show off some of the contents of the final pack in Porsche’s current offerings to Assetto Corsa.

The long awaited ‘Red Pack’ for Assetto Corsa on Xbox One and PS4 finally has a release window, with developer Kunos dropping the news today on Twitter. The pack launched in 2016 for PC players and offers a very nice selection of Italy’s finest racing machines. Alongside new cars, the track roster will also see a new premium addition.

Last we spoke, Marco Massarutto gave a rough outline of the content players could look forward to getting their hands on in Assetto Corsa this year. With over a dozen cars already planned for release within the first half of 2017, players may have missed the word of a new circuit coming to the racer.

2016 was quite the eventful year for Assetto Corsa. After successfully touching down for PS4 and Xbox One players after a series of delays, the title continued to expand with a number of content releases. The highlight was without a doubt the addition of Porsche: 24 vehicles spanning across three packs, showcasing a selection of the historic machinery from the Stuttgart brand. With the previous year said and done for, many may be wondering what’s next for Assetto Corsa.

It’s as they say: all good things must come to an end. After several days of teasing, PC players now have access to the third and final Porsche Pack for Assetto Corsa. Arriving alongside today’s finale is update 1.11 for the game, bringing with it an all-new Championship gameplay mode in addition to the following vehicles from the Stuttgart manufacturer:

More news from the Kunos Simulazioni camp. After yesterday’s surprise shake-up of the final Porsche pack, Executive Manager Marco Massarutto took to the official Assetto Corsa blog to detail the plans for the simulator leading into 2017 — specifically, the console versions.

With the release of the third Porsche Pack only days away, Kunos have made an announcement on the official Assetto Corsa Twitter page regarding one of the cars set to be included in this month’s pack: the 2017 911 RSR.

A quick-fix update has landed for the PS4 version of Assetto Corsa. Weighing in at a relatively paltry 400 MB, it addresses a handful of issues:

Xbox One Assetto Corsa players have had a hard time lately. Not only did they have to watch from afar as PC players enjoyed the first Porsche DLC pack before them, but also the second collection of Stuttgart cars. Then, just as console gamers were promised access the former, a last-minute delay meant only PlayStation 4 sim racers got the update.

Have you been sitting on the fence in regards to the console version of Assetto Corsa? We liked it well enough in our review last summer, giving it top marks in terms of physics and feedback, if not in terms of variety. That said, a certain German marque is quite the appealing addition these days. Of course, nothing can quite match the lure of a good deal.

There’s no denying Assetto Corsa’s troubled release on consoles, and while players continue to patiently await to arrival of private lobbies, user WarriusZero has come up with a solution that gets the job done in the meantime. While the following steps are catered toward PS4 users, there should be little to no issue for Xbox One players looking to do the same.

The end is nigh. While there’s no impending doom on the horizon, the final Porsche Pack is due for Assetto Corsa this month for PC players. With it comes the end of this saga of well-received add-on content representing one of the most winningest manufacturers in motorsports history.

It’s been a long time coming, but Assetto Corsa players on PS4 now have access to Porsches in a current-generation sim. Porsche Pack Volume 1 arrives alongside the game’s 1.09 update today, bringing with it a classic layout of Silverstone and the following cars:

While the Porsche Packs are deserving of their time in the spotlight at the moment, Kunos is seemingly never content with what is and are already planning content releases well into the next year.

According to one of the latest statements from Kunos, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners of Assetto Corsa won’t be seeing some of the unique features found in the PC version. Responding to GTPlanet member Donnced on the official forum, Stefano directly ruled out the possibility of using Photomode, Showroom or viewing larger replay files on consoles:

Good news, Porsche (and Assetto Corsa) fans. After the sublime first DLC pack celebrating the German motorsport legends, Kunos has just released the second act, focusing on some more iconic Porsche models. Well, if you’re a lucky player on PC: consoles gamers still have to wait.
