here is some updating for Aston Martin AMR1 by KJRacing81
old

new

I would be absolutely stoked for a good pack of Vintage IMSA Prototypes to run along with the VRC Chevrette mod. That looks really cool, good job so far!
There are plenty of models to make a good grid (virtua_lm, some spurious cars which may never be made in an official game), issue is they are old and with very poor textures, if you are simply after filling your grid with the cars to run along side (not drive, as interiors need loads of work and some have next to none) then I can sort you out soon.

I also have a huge pack of racing trucks that are the same

I wasn't talking about the video resolution, I can upload a Mario 64 video in 1080p, that doesn't make the game's graphics good. My game and the game of many others looks much better than his, he probably don't use good sol settings and a good ppfilter idk. I just stated that his game could look much better.
I also can't judge the physics of those cars but I can tell from the videos that they have bad shaders and probably no mapping or AO. So to me they don't look very good and could be made much better. Then everyone has different opinions on what looks good or not but I'm sure those cars are not the best there is quality-wise

I think that he used SOL.. watch this video:

rfactor and gtr2 "will be changed with fm7" model because they are "high poly" model and full interior (not really), i hoped that i can found ts010 good model lol

With all this talk of Group C cars, has anyone ever seen the Sauber Mercedes C291 or C292? Not just for AC but any sim?

Guys, I've been trying to research the difference between the IMSA GTP's vs Prototype C's. I'm still confused. I have a IMSA GTP mod from SimDream, but those cars look the same, yet vastly different than my batch of Proto.C's. They seem a little lower and a little smoother... Could be a quality issue... Hell, I dunno. Can someone explain the differences?

First pic is my proto.c's grid that I run... The second pic is of the SDD IMSA GTP's.

2 new quick made grass configs for 2 Jacarepagua tracks, the jacarepagua_br and the jacarepagua_historic tracks:
  • Fixed horizon of jacarepagua_br
  • added new grass fx on both tracks
  • added new water fx on both tracks
  • changed some brightness on different objects
  • spectators should be adjustable per CM/CSP
If I missed something, please give some feedback.
Hope you enjoy. :)

Wow, you're awesome! Thank you! Is it easy to set up cameras? Honestly I have no idea how it's done.

Thank you very much

Found a couple of old videos of trackdays in Jacarepagua_br where you can see some objects of the track like the bridge, the tower, etc....

The difference between the historic Layout and the Jacarepagua_br layout which is in the videos is that they demolished part of the track to build infrastructure for the pan american games. Of course the racing community was raged, heheheh

It's super cool to drive there again (I drove it once in real life) and see the spots where I used to watch the trackdays :)

Nowadays the track was completly demolished and they're doing the track day at the Interlagos circuit in São Paulo, which is also on the F1 Calendar.

If you want something to run with vrc chevrette, did you see this?

Ok as promised here are the links and settings fort this legendary season, that many consider to be one of the more iconic ones in the history. This is going to be longer post, so I apologize, but I have time (isolation and stuff) and I really love racing history and talking about it. Disclaimer: There are no direct links out of respect to developers, who really deserve so much credit for what they are doing. Can't thank them enough.

IMSA GTO 1989 Season

Season was marked by an Audi team with their 90 model, that was developed especially fort this competition as part of marketing to increase their presence in the US market. It was the only season that this car ran in the series. One year before the 200 model ran in the TransAm series and won it, and so everyone expected them to win this year as well. This was an important project for Audi. How important? They hired a former F1 driver Hans-Joachim Stuck and they sent a complete TV crew to record every move and every race the team and drivers made in America. Something unheard of at that time. The 25 min documentary can be seen here. It is interesting to watch before you run this car, as you will feel more immersed in the whole story (use subtitles if you don’t understand German):

Cars

Essentially the season was a duel between Audi and Mercury Cougar teams. Audi missed the beginning of the season and that probably cost them the championship. But there were some excellent races along the way with Nissan, Camaro and Mazda offering good competition as well. I made the BOP of all these cars accordingly. Audi and Cougar are just a little faster that the rest of the field. IRL Audi was no match for American low, wide cars in fast sweeping corners, but was revolutionary stable and agile in slow corners. And this mod from Dan Bucsa captures this perfectly as you will see in races. If you don’t like it and would want a perfectly level field, you must restrict both cars a little more. Anyway, to cut things short here are the cars (author, download location):

- Audi 90 (Dan Bucsa – Our Racing simulator, at his FB site: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AssettoCorsaORSGroup, or a few pages back in this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-959#post-13057891)

- Mercury Cougar XR-7 IMSA (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-146#post-12481803)

- Corvette C4 IMSA GTO (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-149#post-12499141)

- Mazda RX-7 IMSA GTO (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-147#post-12490228) - be careful, there was an update from Zin5ki that made it comparable for later scca seasons but is a much slower car.

- Ford Mustang IMSA GTO (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-145#post-12472688)

- Chevrolet Camaro 28 GTO (VRC Modding team – PAID MOD: https://vrc-modding-team.net/show/26)

- Nissan 300ZX Turbo IMSA GTO (RTM Mods – PAID MOD, but...)

- Ferrari F40 Competizione (Beto Fernandez, BZ SimWorks FB: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BzSimWorks)

Additional skins for VRC Camaro can be found on racedepartment an d for Mustang here by Zin5ki: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-701#post-12972466

Cars that ran in the series, but not included:

- Porsche 944 turbo cup car (asseto corsa database: http://assetto-db.com/car/porsche_944_race) – i removed it, cause it ran only a few races and because of a bigger problem. I could BOP the car for qualifying but in the race it fell behind 10 sec a lap

- Ford RS200 (Zin5ki, this forum: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-post-paid-mods.307899/page-547#post-12882740) – it is so inconsistent, it is crazy, one race it would win qualifying by a few seconds and ran away from the field, on another it would fall behind 10-20 seconds per lap. It did not play a big part in the series, so I removed it. If you want to fiddle with it, be my guest.

- Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick (could not find suitable mods)

IMSA GTO 89 ver2

OK. This was long overdue, but i really wanted to make this "perfect" and as close of a field as possible. I'm finally happy with what i've got. Lots of updates to cars, so this is completely made from scratch. Still my favorite racing series in AC. Hope you like it.

Oh yes, we can see the bridge, tower etc, except I can't stop looking at the first video preview image :D

I haven't been checking this forum for months and recently came back to it. I'm pretty sure I missed out on a lot of good mods from here. Is there an easy way to see some of the best mods that have come out in recent months?

The community has been having quite the ongoing debate about this issue. The reason the Simdream cars look different is because they're models from Forza Motorsport games from the XBox and don't completely match Kunos models. This would be fine if they played nice and released them for free to everyone without making a profit like most mod authors, but they decided to start forcing you to pay money for them, which is against the law to sell other people's models. Fortunately most of their stuff gets leaked quite often so it's easy to find them and not have to pay for them, which I'm hoping is the route you took to get them. If you bought them from SimDreams directly, congratulations, Knowingly or not, you just supported piracy.

Now many members of the community just choose not to do anything about it because they fear the whole modding community will die off if a large company like microsoft gets involved. Whether that is the case or not, I'm not sure. It's that very fear that allows RTM and SimDreams to continue operating without legal repurcussions.

There was no malice intended when I plunked down a **** load of money to SimDream when I first started racing in AC. Believe me, I feel stupid and bad enough as it is.

After a days hard slog I can release the Aston Martin AMR1 V8 Group C car. Made a few skins myself as only came with one from the Forza rip.

PM me any errors please and I will try and fix and of course if someone can improve the physics please send to me.

Hi, I've had this issue shown in the picture when racing with the cockpit view. Is there anything I could do to fix it?
