Refered to spec ll update the other updates has not really been that major.
Spec II is a single data point. You cannot infer anything from one data point: one point is nothing; two is a line; three is a pattern; more is a better pattern. For example, Spec II had three American cars, so Spec III should also if we go by "that one major update they had tells us about the next major update they're making", right? Oh wait, it has absolutely none revealed at all and can therefore have a maximum of two...

It also is on the list above (1.40), because it added an EV in that regular Meme/EV/VGT slot - which, again, has been five slots in the last two larger-than-usual updates, so the Polestar 5 won't necessarily be alone.

Let's do track updates while we're at it, eh?
1.17 (3) - Ford Roadster and Suzuki VGT Gr3
1.23 (3) - Nissan Silvia S14 Ks and Porsche VGT Spyder and Volkswagen ID.R
1.29 (5) - Citroen DS21
1.40 (7) - Tesla Model 3

Yikes. Seems like every update that isn't just three or four cars and can be contrived as a more major one has a Meme/EV/VGT added.

I hope it's not the Fiat Panda.
I mean, it's coming at some point and, bearing in mind previous examples, it's overdue. Why not in amongst seven other cars so people can't do the usual "ugh, they wasted one of the THREE cars to add this POS, that's a third of them" noise?

You'd have to be pretty curmudgeonly to crap on 1.64 for having a Panda in it when you get the 296 GT3 (that one car people have been screaming about for three years), Espace F1, Mine's R34, the F3500-B, and two circuits. Maybe they'll add another new-and-shiny-bait car to make those people less sad about the Polestar, FTO, and (again, this is only what I think, because it fits everything) Panda.

PD introduced some mid 90s supercar from obscure brand as coming soon and i even forgot what it was. Was it Saleen 7? May be that is what in store there.
Genesis supercar is also prominent candidate.
Xaiomi ...
Fiat Panda again was on the radar and disappeared.
There is super corvette with 1000 plus HP and equally crazy Ford and given their track record of been near PD. My money is more on Chevy.

There is also Honda Prelude. Not like i am excited about it in real life given price tag, but would be nice in game.

There are plenty of very possible candidates... and there is always option of some SUV like all electric Macan... and such.

Yes we see. But given it was Ferrari circuit challange event its very likely it could be new Ferrari coming with spec lll, pd always add new event types that matches with theme of the cars for the update.

I see the Fiat panda very unlikely for spec lll it dosent match a car pd in general adds for an major update, if its arriving it will most likely be in smaller update later.

Any new Ferrari would make me happy their is still a lot of them we dont have in gt7 yet.
To be fair, Ferrari world is next to the circuit, so that event would fit there anyway, new Ferrari car or not.

One thing i noticed watching a video on spec lll during world series is that yas Marina had a Ferrari circuit challange as well as a well as world touring car 800.

Witch could actully mean that one of the last 2 cars could be a ferrari supercar.

To be fair, these could be placeholders, but i dont think they are, because the WTC800 is fit for the 296GT3, so maybe we are seeing the actual events planned, so another Ferrari is very probable.

Except the WTC 800 poster is literally a straight rip of the one from Spa (the one with the Million Credit payout).

I've already spoken about the significance of the Fiat Panda so I would gladly welcome it's inclusion.

Gonna be honest: Kinda hoping that Porsche and Beetle aren't the final two cars, but are indicators that Race Modifications are returning. Seeing them both in a very off-road prepared state (Something that at the moment, only seems for the most part reserved for the Trucks, Jimnys and FJ40) has me liking the idea that 1.64 could allow much more to be done beyond what is already possible. That and I really want to build something closer to a Trophy Truck, if not at least a Pro4 Truck.

And the "Ferrari Circuit Challenge" image has the Testarossa being chased by the very much not a Ferrari Aston Martin Vantage.

Because it's the cover image of the European Clubman Cup 600 race at Deep Forest.

New tracks usually come with a number of different events right from the start, not always associated with the new cars that get released at the same time. For example, Eiger came with a Jimny Cup event but no Jimny. Grand Valley came with a Gr.1 event and an American event, without including new vehicles for either.

The Spec II update, which included Lake Louise, included 20 new events, far exceeding the number of new cars.

So I don't think an upcoming Ferrari event at Yas Marina is an indication of a new Ferrari street car.

Lovely mix up by PD. Ferrari-Aston Martin Circuit Challenge confirmed for Spec III

Like every time we have a new Ferrari circuit challange there has been new ferrari launch with it. Its still the biggest hint we got for the last 2 cars yet, and it would not suprice me, for bigger updates pd tend to go for more perfomence road cars in general.

Its not 100% confirmed that i will be Ferrari because of it, but its the biggest hint we have so far. Its very possible it could be a new Ferrari roadcar with spec lll update but we see soon enough.

I was thinking about what event each car will get, so these are my predictions:

Ferrari 296 GT3: WTC 800 and Gr.3 Cup.
Polestar 5: WTC600 or a new event which could be EV-only.
Espace F1: Neo-Classic competition.
F3500-B: Not to sure, a Formula Cup event maybe?
Mines R34: Race of turbo sportscars
Mitsubishi FTO: FF 450 Japanese cars

I don't think RM are back at all, that would sound weird. Especially with "made by PD" cars like Gr.3 / Gr.4 (hi Nissan Silvia RM from GT5) / Gr.B / Road Car versions already available at Brand Central. Unless they move them all to GT Auto in a new RM tool, the kind of thing I would have preferred from the start.

i cant help but think the last two cars will be the rally spec 911 & Beetle… 🤔
You might be right on your theory, however it's hard to predict what PD will give us for the last bit of content.

Very much doubt that, those 2 cars is already in the game, and could just be new customize options. If you look inside power pack their is cars that looks like it has custom parts we currently dont have in game.

Regards engine swaps for the Panda, it would be rude if it didn't get the Abarth 500 T-Jet.

I have the Panda mentally pencilled in for the update after Spec III, myself. That January or February update being the Xiaomi SU7, the Panda, and something they announce at the World Finals would not surprise me at all.

It just feels to me like so far the cars in this update have been specifically curated for it (FTO, Mine's, Espace for GT nostalgia; 296 and F3500-B for Sport Mode types; Polestar so they can introduce/market the new brand in LA) and while the Panda is a car I like and a perfectly cool and valid car for the series, I don't think it reaches the level of a car you specifically curate for your big update.

But that only holds if the last two slots are also curated, of course; I could be totally wrong and the last two cars are just cars that happen to be completed around now.

Remember, they add content for a wide range of users and their in game activity preferences.

The F3500 B is going to be a livery POWERHOUSE as was the F3500 A. The Hiace is another example. Heck, the UNIMOG is a great example, same with the carry. Those last two slots could be used to fulfill a wide array of purposes. I think it's going to be known cars, like the Xiamoi

Regarding the Ferrari Challenge race at Yas Marina. If I remember correctly, when spec II dropped, it added races that did not necessarily feature a new car for the update. So there may not necessarily be a new Ferrari road car.

If there is though, the 599 is in the datamine, or maybe the road version of the 296 is plausible too.

Now I won't say I know what the final two cars are (because frankly, I'm no closer to knowing then anyone else), but I do want you folks to notice a pattern with the Up-to-Date GR.3 cars added post launch for the already existing manufacturers: Every single one of them has a Road car.

  • The Mercedes-AMG GT3 '20 has the Mercedes AMG Black Series its based on that was already in the game at Launch
  • The Nissan GT-R GT3 Nismo '18 has the Nissan GT-R Nismo '17 its based on that was both already in the game from launch AND was added in GT Sport as well
  • The Subaru BRZ GT300 was added alongside its Road car version

And what is one of the cars being added in Spec III? The Ferrari 296 GT3. I know I'm sounding abit silly but looking at what I have laid out, I think you'll see what I'm thinking might be one of the remaining unrevealed cars...

Could be. But why not reveal it alongside the GT3 version? My feeling is the last two must be special. What we also havent seen yet is the trailer for Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. I thought: Wouldnt it make sense the last two are models that go well with a F1 racetrack. Imagine the Panda passing the Wall of Champions… would not look so sexy, would it?

The road going 293 seems an obvious choice now that you mention it.

Are there any historically signifcant cars or events tied with Villeneuve? Or Canada? Can-Am? Famous canadian drivers that won some significant event?

Can't scratch this itch that I'm feeling a 2002 tii or other vintage BMW and a Muscle car. The final two just can't be fillers.
I don't know if PD will bring those cars in the game. We'll see in the near future.

worst case is the two of the cars are those on Power Pack DLC photo

But I hope those are "special modification" like the good old racing modification
